This item was authenticated by Stephen Zarelli. A picture is attached. The eBay seller has presented it as being authenticated by Stephen Zarelli. eBay item number:372332****79. I do not know if the seller is mistaken, or if Zarelli really authenticated these signatures . Please study these for yourself and draw you very own conclusion. I would like to believe the COA is a mistake. I personally have never seen these two examples and I truly believe there must be an error in the listing . My opinion would steer me away from these two signatures. Of course quite often people have conflicting opinions on signatures. I am not comfortable with these signatures at all. I am only stating an opinion. Thank You !

I used Zarelli to authenticate a very rare example of Gemini astronaut signatures on a JFK lithograph. All were genuine except for the Young which was an autopen. Zarelli easily set apart the signatures and verified each one individually, and also came with a certificate stating as such. I know RR Auction use Zarelli for authentication and I can see why. The certificate was laid out very well, clearly and included an image and a serial number sticker. In all, Zarelli is known to be the best authenticator in astronaut autograph forums and facebook groups and there is a reason why. I will continue to use his service for all of my astronaut autographs. I already have my next lot of autographs waiting for authentication.

I bought a Buzz Adrin signed picture it was Guaranteed by Zarelli Space. When I sent it to PSA they sent it back with like five reasons that it was fake and it cost me a hundred dollars to find out it was fake

Zarelli is Killing Me with His Book Opinions !
I have collected Autographs since the year 1971. I met many celebrities over the years . I have become very knowledgeable of Autographs over the past 47 years of collecting as well as selling historic philography. I stood in line for an hour back in 2001 in order to meet, and have books signed by GORDON COOPER The title of these books , LEAP OF FAITH These books were all purchased new , they were First Editions. The cost of these books was $ 25.00 each.There was no extra charge for having these books signed. Gordon Cooper signed these books in front of me. The Bookstore Employees helped me carry the books to my car. I purchased quite a few ! I sold one of the Gordon Cooper Signed, First Editions of LEAP OF FAITH online. The buyer returned the book to me 30 days later because she sent the book to Steven Zarelli, of Balliston NY for an opinion and a Certificate. Mr Zarelli sells opinions . Mr Zarelli rendered his very own opinion that the book was not authentically signed by Gordon Cooper I accepted the return, plus I paid for return shipping of the book. While Mr Zarelli broke no laws and he did render an OPINION. This was indeed an opinion. Mr Zarelli is very good at selling opinions, in fact when it comes to selling opinions Mr Zarelli is the very best. Very best. I will agree that he is the best opinion seller that I know of. I am unclear what his opinion was actually based upon. I find it incredible that anyone would pay for an autographed book and then pay an additional fee for an opinion on authenticity. My buyer returned the book , but was out of pocket the opinion price with no item to show for it. This deal lacks common sense . This is not the first time that Steven Zarelli sold one of my customers an opinion on a signed book, or anything else.Over past decade Mr Zarelli has given condescending opinions on dozens of signed books that I have sold. Several years ago a customer refused to return two items that Mr Zarelli had a negative opinion on. A return of an item is a reasonable request. That customer engaged a credit card charge back with Discover Card and the customer kept the two items. This was the only time that I was ever cheated in a chargeback. Most customers are honest enough to simply return the item(s) when they want a refund As far as the signed books. I have some 3500 used books listed (not on eBay) and 300 of these are first editions signed by US Astronauts and or Pilots. All signed in person in front of me. At least 12 have been returned to me because of a Zarelli opinion. I wish Zarelli would stick to flat items and leave books alone. Cards are more likely to be questionable. Books are harder to sell because you can't hang a book on your wall. I am attaching photographs of the Gordon Cooper Signed book that was returned. Readers can form an "opinion" for themselves.

Neil Armstrong FORGERY authenticated by zarelli
I have a Neil Armstrong signed WSS authenticated with a a letter from Steven Zarelli stating that his opinion is the WSS Signed is genuine. PSA has a far different opinion . I bought this WSS from a Boston Auction House. The Auction House has Agreed to buy back the WSS so at least I am made whole again. I thought experts were supposed to be knowledgeable I wish he would just stop authenticating things and get a real job. This guy just likes attention and he gets attention from collectors who lack common sense . His Web Page is supposed to be educational but some of his space history is flawed and his dates are way off.

Signed FDC FAKE authenticated by Zarelli
I have a FDC signed by Gus Grissom. The issue is this was post marked AFTER the death of Gus Grisom. It came with a Steve Zarelli COA. Boy, was I taken to the cleaners. Steve Zarelli knows squat about autographs and even less about space history. Ever read his bloggs ? They are a joke ! He is a joke! I wish he would stopbeing an expert and get a real job someplace. He needs to find something that he is truly good at. His authentications are hurting this hobby. He is snowing a lot of people including himself. I am embarrassed for the guy. He writes bloggs using stuff he made up and people are gullable enough to believe it all.

1. I purchased books, 2. I got in line and waitedfor Gene Cernan to sign the books 3. Gene Cernan signed my books and I got a picture taken with him, 4. Lady at book store put stickers on my books "signed copy". ,5. Listed my extras on eBay, 6. Sold a copy., 7. Buyer returned book with a Steve Zarelli letter stating that he did not think the signed book was legit.

Facts Vs. Opinion
Wow...I can not help but notice that the people who tell us that Steven Zarelli is not very good at his chosen field (and untrained) are all articulate and knowledgeable while those who defend him can not spell simple words and have the grammar of a 7 year old. I know nothing about authenticating but I do know a little about the law. If in your ad you state that YOU are authenticating the signature as having been signed right in front of you and that no "third party opinion" will be accepted as proof of forgery Ebay will be unable to steal your money from you. As far as I am concerned in this case Ebay has committed the CRIME of theft. The owner stated FACTS the authenicator stated OPINION. There is NO WAY it was legal for Ebay to STEAL this sellers money out of his PayPal account based on the NON-GUARANTEED OPINION from an UNTRAINED self appointed "expert".

My Name is Emeritis Clarke . I am a relative of Charlton Heston. His name has thirteen letters and Mr. Zarelli's story only focuses on one letter, the letter "r". When he wrote fast his "r" became elongated and resembled an "l" . I can assure you that Charlton Heston Never used a secretary to sign autographs for him. If you do a google search of Steven Zarelli, you will find that he has made some errors with his assessment of the autographs of astronauts. You will also see that he is employed by RR Auction. RR Auction is currently being sued for selling autographs that lack authenticity based upon a PSA DNA opinion. Mr Zarelli before you publish information abot a person, living or dead, famous or unkown, make certain that the information you write is true

I Avoid COAs by Steven Zarelli among others.
When I buy autographs, I avoid COAs from th following companies or persons: CSC Collectibles Donald Frangipani Forensic Document Services Hollywood Dreams Legends Sports Memorabilia Steve Zarelli It is my opinion , based on forty-seven years of collecting autographs that those COAs from the above list should be avoided. I like PSA because if they can not make a determination, they say so and they don't just flat out state that something is likely not authentic just because they do not know. Steve Zarelli has been called on a few In Person signed items that he called Not Authentic and that is unfair to the person who paid the money and stood in line. Routine items like books are rarely forged. Even those books signed in person by Challton Heston that Zarelli claims is secretarial.Steven Zarelli is just one of about a half dozen COAs that I regularly avoid. I have seen items that were determined to be genuine by the opinion of Zarelli that differed from my own opinion. This is just my own opinion so take it for what it is worth.

I got an online opinion on this signed piece but I already had my suspicions. It is allegedly authenticated by Steven Zarelli. People need to be careful especially with buying autographs off eBay. Making a bitter Pill Palatable -Steve Zarelli Authentication Solution
It is a bitter pill when a young collector starts out by helping fellow collectors and along the way he begins to get lost in his own overconfident ways and becomes sloppy .It is nice to thwart off forgeries but not at the expense of honest collectors and dealers. It is my own opinion that Steve should take a long hiatus and refrain from reviewing any more autographs for a while. Steve needs to spend some quiet study time and refresh his authentication studies. Every time an authenticator makes a judgment on a written piece his/her goal needs to be the truth and not a pat on the back. Authentication is not a popularity contest. It is unfair to make hasty inaccurate calls and it is the innocent collectors who pay the price for errors.This is my unbiased opinion A.P.

Zarelli reviewed one of my collectors item, and declared it not authentic. THE BAD NEWS IS THAT I HAVE ALL RECEIPTS FROM BUZZ ALDRIN , AND MIKE COLLINS, AND NOVASPACE. I think it would be better if he would stick to his original, used car salesman job, and not to leave the car lot. When Buzz ALDRIN AND MIKE COLLINS say the signature of Neil Armstrong is real I tend to believe to those guys and not to Zarelli. Beside they would not put their reputation on line, if they would not be 1000% sure. I have only real deals

Steven Zarelli Autograph Authentication debunked by PSA
I purchased four autographs from a well established auction house. All four items came with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Steven Zarelli of Zarelli Space Authentication. I sent all four to PSA for REAL Certificates of Authenticity and three came back as fake, one did come back with a PSA COA. I contacted the Auction house and they assured me that Zarelli was good, but in light of new evidence; the Rejection Letters from PSA, the Auction House offered a 100% satisfaction refund because they stand by what they sell. Does Zarelli sit at the kitchen table for hours daydreaming with a handful of autographs around him ? Is this his eight hour work day ? I realize that COA's are based upon opinions but where does Zarelli get his opinions from ? Why did PSA reject three items that Zarelli looked at ? Did he look at the autographs or daydream about them ? Merrily Merrily Life's about a dream !

Steve Zarelli false opinion on Pete Conrad autograph
I sold a PETE CONRAD autograph on eBay. To those who do not know who Pete Conrad is, he was the third man to walk on the moon. Conrad signed several items for me , IN PERSON back in the early 1990's. He inscribed all the items and in retrospect this made it difficult to sell these. I did keep two for myself. I sold one of these to a guy in Canada and in turn this Canadian guy sent the autograph to Steven Zarelli. Steven Zarelli is a notarized space autograph authenticator who charges $ 75-100 each for his examination and a Certificate of Authenticity on his letterhead. Zarelli is widely accepted as an expert in Space Autographs. Since my autograph was signed IN PERSON , I was amazed that Steven Zarelli gave an opinion that the item was a CRUDE FORGERY. The buyer filed a complaint with eBay and he not only got a quick refund(Ebay just automatically took the funds from my Paypal account) and the buyer was told , by eBay, that he had no obligation to return my autograph to me. My name is Dan Burns and I met Pete Conrad many times . I managed an auto parts chain and Pete Conrad made public appearances at several of my stores. I even have photographs that prove that he was in my stores as well as group photographs with me in these group shots with Pete. I do not agree with Steven Zarelli's opinion and his opinion and rejection letter directly resulted in eBay taking action against me and most likely, the photograph, despite being real, was likely destroyed by man that bought it from me on eBay. I am certain that Steve Zarelli has studied astronauts but my experience does not give me confidence in his abilities nor does it make me trust any so-called authenticators.
