My published book

I gave them my third children's book Ms Paperbottom to publish and sell on different platforms and I only received 1$ and 15$ check that I couldn't cash since 2019

Horrific experience

I had attempted to have my book published and thing seemed to go well for the first week or so, but then they started to communicate less with me. I had raised the concern with them and they just said they are busy with multiple other clients. I looked into the company with the Better Business Bureau. When I voiced my concern from what I had read my agent from the company became aggressively and insulting. They ignore my request for a refund

They are an evil scam

They scammed my grandpa for $10,000 and didn't even give him one copy of his because he couldn't figure out how to send iit but they were quite happy to steal $10,000 off a grandpa in the early stages of Alzheimiers and got mean with me when I told them he;'d been diagnosed and they should pay him back since they did nothing for him. They kept lying to him "the cheque is in the mail" oldest line in the book then they blocked his number and mine, They are heartless evil theves and on top of that this is a huge huge coporatoon with many other names like Author Solutions to keep scamming under and the RUMOR is that they launder money for the Mafia

Crap service

I published a book through xlibris 2 years ago. I have not received any royalties, they are expecting me to put my book out there I now have over 500 copies that I can't sell to anyone because it was supposed to be their job. In total I have wasted $60,000 and they are still ringing trying to get money. I am now in debt because they kept saying this package will guarantee sales for your book and I was gullible to believe them. The main thing I am pissed about is I am in Australia so they are refusing to give me royalties because I don't have an American bank account which they should have mentioned (also for a fact they were able to take my money so why doesn't it work reversed)

SCAMMERS

I published with Xlibris in 2017. They have sent very few royalty cheques that I don't CASH. I noticed my book is on sale on 19 different web sites. Xlibris Publishing are keeping the royalties. AUTHOR Wren Louis in Canada. Is there ANY LEGAL RECOURSE. My facebook AD carousel also on a www. page included as a gift from Gerome Gates was not up and running for the year!

Illegal sales of my books

Updated by user Aug 01, 2022
My issue with Xlibris isn't resolved. They have no intention of giving me the royalty money they owe me.

Original review Jun 29, 2022
In 2020 I published two books with Xlibris. In January of 2022 I legally severed all ties with them. This is because they refused to pay me my royalties. Xlibris signed a legal document that they would take my books off the market. They are still selling on Amazon, e-campus and with other venders. I've re-published my books on Amazon. Xlibris is competing against me with my own books ! They are selling at 1/4 my asking price and getting away with it. I have no control over this to spite the legal document they signed. These people need to be in prison, not the publishing business !

Dissapointed Author

Whats there to say other than they take your money and dont deliver as they should! They outsource their work to the Philipines and most of the time when you call for support, you dont get it. Also they dont follow through as they should with orders and contracts. Xlibris also sets the book prices way too high for sales. I will never use them again

They are a scam. stay away

They are a scam. They publish your book and keep the royalties. Do not trust them. They are a scam. Xlibris is a fraud company. They should be closed down. I published my book with them in 2017 and they have kept my royalties ever since. I have been asking them for the history of my sales and they keep creating a story to avoid it. They are thieves.

Incessant pestering

I, fortunately, have not signed with Xlibris. Nor do I plan to. I put my email in to a website regarding self-publishing, Xlibris was the first to contact me. They would call at least once per week, and when I stated I fell onto hard times and did not have the funds for ANY self-publishing, they had the gall to ask me when I'd be on my feet again. I said it would be a couple of years, if ever. Their pushiness had already turned me off. I asked that they stop contacting me as I am not going to be publishing a book at this time. They took "at this time" to mean "we'll call again in six months, and we're going to straight up tell you we're going to contact you every couple months until you contract with us." I received that call last week, a different "agent." Who tried to sell me on the company yet again as if I hadn'talready heard the spiel, and sent a follow-up email. It's disgusting they never stop trying before you sign a contract, then apparently never start trying after. The one company that did sound legit, Palmetto Publishing Group, THEY haven't contacted me since I told them my world fell apart. They also have 5-star reviews according to my internet searches. Xlibris is a leech, and I haven't even purchased from them. Don't fall for their pushy, entitled scam.

Rip off

Xlibris published my book many years ago and I have yet to receive a dime of royalties. My book is worldwide and is even selling at Walmart. I can't understand what's happening. When I consult with them no one can tell me anything. There answer is always the same. I'd like to know where is my money. If there is an attorney out there that would like to represent me in suing them on a contengency basis please email me at don't iris.mccoy92@***.com

Upset!

Hello, I was contacted by Xlibris and was emotionally manipulated into making a deal right there and then with them on the phone about a book they hadn't seen the manuscript of yet! I wanted to publish poetry, yet they were determined to 'make me the next Gordon Ramsey', and to set me up a YouTube channel. They continued to persist that to publishcooking books I would get interviews across the world and potentially be famous... They pretended to give me a huge discount to convince me to sign up. Regrettably, I did. However, after thinking over my decision I decided to cancel with them. Since then, I have not been able to contact a single person. I've left multiple voice messages and sent several emails. The two people I have talked to who were meant to be part of my 'publishing team', had no idea I wanted to cancel the contract with them and both gave me different instructions on how to actually cancel with them. Honestly, they just want to make money. The quality of an individuals writing isn't of any importance to them. Highly Dissatisfied!
