Ammo destroyed my bolt action rifle & blew up the magazine in another

We have recently been experiencing ammo failure with the following ammo; 22 Win Mag 40g Varmint & Small Game, and 22-250 Remington 55g Varmint & Preditar. The 22 win Mag experienced an explosion in the chamber resulting in the destruction of a rotary magazine in a Ruger PRF. 22-250 experienced chamber explosion, and at this point the bolt cannot be removed. It was taken to a gunsmith, and it was found to be in repairable. I possess more boxes if Winchester ammo that I will not use seeing that it is unsafe, as damaged one of my rifles and destroyed the other. I have tried unsuccessfully to reach Winchester. The dont return phone calls, nor to they respond to my email.

Bad bullets 150gr extreme point

extreme point bullets after firing in my 308pro hunter contender the barrel would release but would only open part way. After removing the empty case and then reloading back into the weapon it would not close without closing barrel hard and then would not open again even without being discharged because it had already been fired.

Rebate $70 short. Purchased close to $400 got $4.80 rebate. WTF?

More answering machines. No accountability for 3rd party vendors running Winchester name into the ground. Does not seem they care about the new cancel culture. I WILL NEVER BUY WINCHESTER/ BROWNING PRODUCTS AGAIN, if they dont make it right. Hope you dont become the next Bud Light. Your reviews indicate Americans are extremely close to that level of dissatisfaction with you. Best of luck to you.

Ammunition query

Please help! Winchester ammo rocks! No problem. Never have had an issue with Winchester Ammo or firearms in my 77 years. This is an information request only. I have nearly worn out the keyboard of my computer trying to find specific Winchester bullet information. Namely the bullet diameter of your 7.62X39 (X76239H) Hog Special bullet (projectile). Would the diameter be .308, .310 or even .311? Is the bullet diameter of all your 7.62X39 ammunition the same? If so, or not, what would the bullet diameter be of these various types? Are the bullets (projectiles) loaded in the White-Tail and Hog loads the same? Just wondering because hunting Ammunition in 762X39 is not the easiest to find. If the bullets are the same I could use either loading on either species. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated as I much prefer to use Winchester products (factory ammo, primers, powder and brass). Bill Booth bill.booth@***.net

Poor customer service

Im all for the benefit of doubt when people are busy but when they say someone will be in contact with you the following week to have your issue resolved, that means more than likely the following year. Multiple voice mails and emails sent and not one response. Losing a big guide customer that always relied on Winchester ammunition for clients.

6 months and still no resloution. 223 wssm ammo

I have been dealing with winchester for over 5 months of 11boxes of bad 223 wssm ammo. At least when I can get someone to answer the phone. They never return emails. When I do get someone on the phone they give me some bs run around about how they have issued a check but nothing have ever been received. Then they will tell me they have to try and find the check. This is a big scam...

Foreign made shellss under Winchester banner!!!

Why is winchester selling Cheddite french made shells as W inchester Fast dove and Clay shotgun ammo. This stronkly reminds me of Federal selling Rio ammo as theirs. I feel very strongly as do my fellow club members here in Michigan that if the Ammo comes from an american company IT Should be made by that company IN THE USA !!! even thou it says in small print on the box made in france it smacks of false Advertising !!! plus the shells i used for 2 rounds of trap last week did not perform to my satisfaction !!!

I bought ammo it did not fire. Call and emailed them about it they said I did not. Talked to people that said they were working on it. That was 3 months ago. Called today they said that I didn't.

Ammo that didn't fire. 2 different type of Winchester ammo. Missed out on 2 deer because of ammo.!!!

Bad batch of ammo 300blk out

This ammo is of poor quality the crimp is to heavy brass looks to be bent also bullet seating depth is all over the place. The price I paid for this ammo $1 plus per round and what I saw when I opened the boxes is unfortunate and unforgivableI am looking for a solution for refund or exchange.ammo market L C and appears to be 556 cut down to make 300 black outnot confident in this ammo.

Ammo is junk

I paid 24.99 for a box of 22 ammunition from Cabela's in Sun Prairie Wisconsin. This ammo is absolute junk. More than half the box of bullets is messed up. The ammo is messed up in several ways. I have some with missing/broken tips, some rusted, some are bent at the joint, some are loose, and some have all of the above. This is dangerous and unacceptable. I was raised on the quality ammunition usually offered by Winchester and this is absolutely disheartening to see that your standards on safety and quality have just gone down the drain.

Resolved: Defective 28 gauge shotgun shells

Updated by user Feb 09, 2023

Spoke to Olin Winchester rep and one box of shells will be sent when available.

Original review Feb 09, 2023
The last communication I had with them they were going to send me one box of shells when available. I found 9 bad shells in 6 boxes. If they send me one box of 25 minus my 9 bad ones, I net 16 shells. I only asked them for 2 boxes for the inconvenience and unknowns, very gracious for a company, they really went all out. Do they think I would ever buy anything from Winchester again.

Resolved: Defective Winchester 28 gauge ammo

Updated by user Feb 09, 2023

Winchester Olin rep told me they would send me 0ne box of shells when available.

Original review Feb 03, 2023
I was recently bird hunting with my 28 gauge Merkel side by side using new Winchester AA HS shells 8 1/2 shot. After firing the gun and trying to reload, it would not breech up. I finally discovered that the new shells were completely split top to bottom, even part of the rim. Out of a box of 25 I found 3 defective shells. Lucky for me and the gun it would not breech up. I checked 5 more boxes and found 6 more for a total of 9 defective shells. Beware of Winchester ammo.
