Shower remodel

We had our bathtub/shower made to a walk in shower today. At first wrong finish, but the the company quickly made arrangements and our shower was completed in one day. Brian Vosburgh was our installer. Couldn't have asked for a better job. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. If I could rate him a 10, I would. I recommend West Shore. Well done.

New Shower installation

We are delighted with our beautiful new step-in shower that replaced our tub/shower. Jason S. was our installer. He arrived on time and was courteous, pleasant and attentive to our every question, and took time to explain when needed. He was professional and kept us updated every step of the way. Jason S. was also very knowledgeable about all aspects of the job.

I am not happy with my new shower

I just had my new shower installed on 05/12/2023 and I have to say I am less than satisfied with it. I would first like to say the sales representative was very nice, polite and professional. The installer was also very professional and courteous. However the sample of what I picked out and the picture I was shown is not what I have ended up with not to mention it has been a week and I have not been able to use my shower yet as the glass (That I am having to pay extra for) will not be in for another 7 to 10 days. Your company advertises complete bathroom but fails to mention the glass is a seperate cost. The cost for this shower install is way overpriced for what I received. To begin with not as much work was involved with the tearout and repair than originally thought or quoted, so where is my credit for the less materials and labor added for that? To be honest I was expecting a beautiful custom shower once the job was completed but instead what I got was a shower I cant even look at. The installer did not pay attention to the pattern on the 3 different panels ( I understand that thy will not match perfectly) however if he had looked at them before cutting and installing he would have seen he needed to turn the large wall sheet of acrylic upside down and it would have been a better flow of pattern. The color of this shower is NOT what I picked out. This shower has a green tint to it, what I was shown and thought I ordered was more of the brown and grey tones, I have repainted my bathroom since the install to try and make it look better however it is not working for me. This needs to be corrected, either order the correct color and have the installer match the pattern or let me choose a different acrylic altogether. For $17,000.00 (which I am sure only cost you a very small fraction of that) should be what I want and I should be happy with it. I have pictures of what we were shown vs what we got. I am hoping your company will stand by this and make it right for me. 5-19-2023: The sales rep came back to look and tried to say there was no way to match the design. He said the color is what i picked out ( unfortunately the color matched his sample) however his attempt to prove his point about the design failed. His sample matched the design perfectly so in short had the installer paid attention it would have matched. It still would not have made it a $17,000 shower but would have softened the blow a little better. The sales rep was going to get with his GM and let us know if anything can be done. The pony wall (their term not mine) was not finished, and he said they weren't supposed to finish it? What? Why not? That was in the contract to build a pony wall as part of the shower, so why would it not be finished? We have not heard back since the sales rep left. I will attach pictures of what I thought I was getting vs what I got. Oh, and did I mention the glass is going to be another $2,700. 1st picture is what I thought I was getting. Other pictures are my shower, pony wall was finished by my husband.

Still waiting for a written estimate

I was given a verbal estimate and asked for it in writing. Despite sending a request again to their "customer care" and sales rep, still waiting.

Awful Customer Experience and they lied

This company has no regard of customer service or experience. They finished the work at my house with so many flaws that they had to come back to redo the ENTIRE job. Then when they came back to redo the work, they still installed the wrong door and had to come out again. Do they take any responsibility for this??? No! They act as if I should just be grateful for them correcting their mistakes without any consideration of my time and the money I spent. The photos dont do it justice. I cant find the video of the malformed corners or how the doors clashed upon one another. These are just pictures of the leakage and how the doors were installed crooked and therefore caused the crashing of the two doors.

Referral program

I had my bathroom done and am happy with the results. On February 23, 2023 I received a referral letter from you. I referred my brother and he had his done also. We spent over $34000 with you. I have tried and tried to get the fifty dollar gift card for myself and the 250 reduction for my brother but to no avail. I am tired of being ignored. If nothing is done I will take this further. What is fair is fair. I have the emails to verify. Waiting to hear from you. Carolyn Koehler

Three problems with our install

1. We ordered a total of 6 shelves. We only got 4. The work order was wrong. Please correct immediately. 2. The restriction orifice was removed from the shower head, and was supposed to be left with us. It was not. We would like to have that in case we want to reinstall. 3. Our second bathroom has very little to no water pressure to the faucet. My wife has been trying to contact customer service and has not received a call back in 5 days. Please correct these things ASAP. Thank you, Erich

Hoping if 1 person complains enough, WSH will take Customer Care more seriously?

Update 3/29/2023: I called West Shore Homes twice yesterday to address the shelf issue, on my less than 1 week old redo, and the 1st time I was put on hold for over 30 minutes, not a word from ANYONE, before I hung up and the 2nd time I was told that my newest case (#9) would be passed along to a Service Supervisor, not a CUSTOMER Service Supervisor, as escalated and I would get a callback that was at 3:15pm and it is going on noon the next day, NOTHING! Customer Care is a JOKE! They OBVIOUSLY dont care! Update 3/28/2023: my redo, not even 1 week in, and the bottom shelf is coming loose?! This will make the 9th service/work order, on our 1 West Shore Homes project, in exactly 2 yrs (which is how long weve had it)! I cant even enjoy a bath/shower anymore! Surprised Im not PTSDing every wash, at this point?! Update 3/27/2023: I was just asked to give feedback after my most recent service experience and I just wanted to make SURE that my response was received so I am copying it here as well Just because yall send a bubbly Team Member out here to finish a redo, that I had to make the phone call to yall to set up, doesnt even BEGIN to make up for the inconvenience that West Shore Homes has caused my family and I. With the amount of money we are spending on this project, I expected a lot less of a hassle? In the 2 handfuls of times Ive had to call on West Shore Homes regarding issues with my Tub/Shower sure, you send a Team Member(s) out here to do work required under warranty, which was fine the first time or 2 but when it becomes habitual (8 Service Orders in a 2 year period), it might be time to reevaluate your Customer Care? There has been no above, no beyond, just the bare minimum so why would I stick my neck out for West Shore Homes with a recommendation? Update 1/3/2023: A West Shore Homes Plumber came out to my Home a few days after my initial review, fixed the hot water issue, at least temporarily, but I NEVER received a follow up call and NOTHING has been done about the discolored, dingy acrylic! STILL disappointed with this extremely expensive purchase, the poor quality and lack of Customer Service! We had West Shore Homes remodel our out of date tub/shower in our main bathroom almost 2 yrs ago and while it IS better than what we had Im not blown away by it. Within just the first year, I had to get someone out here 4-5 times to address issues we were having isnt a good feeling when youre spending $8,000.00+ on a product or service, even if it is under warranty. Here it is, not even 2 years in, this virgin acrylic, that is supposed to be SO easy to keep clean, has stains that I cant remove, is dingy, gritty and grimy. And now, AGAIN, I am having issues with my water temperature! I have about 7 minutes, if that, to take a warm-hot shower! I will try to inch the *** up to extend my shower but somehow, the water gets COLDER! And my poor Husband, who is usually kind enough to take a shower after me, hasnt had a hot shower in MONTHS! We replaced a heating element in our water heater and paid someone over $100 to come out and check it, just to make sure there were no other issues, there were none. Everywhere else in my house puts out scalding hot water except the wet area that we pay so much money for, for me and my family to have at least one, fully functioning bathroom for the four of us to use. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.

I had a 6:00PM appointment for 2/24/23 that quickly went downhill.

Original review Feb 27, 2023
I had a 6:00PM appointment for 2/24/23 that they said I had to have that week so I could get the free installation special they were offering, at 5:50 I got a call that said they were running late and changed the time to 7:00PM, at 6:55PM I got a call saying they needed to change it to 8:00PM which I refused and they offered to extend the special to me and we set up an appointment for 6:00 PM on 2/27/23, at 8:30 AM on 2/27/23 I received a call and was told that they needed to reschedule due to overbooking. If this company cannot even book appointments and respect their customers time and keep those appointments no way am I expecting them to keep their promise of a one day install. I told them to forget it, I will find another company!

Resolved: Horrible experience!

Updated by user Feb 10, 2023

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. West Shore hired a mechanical plumber and removed a double trap that was preventing the pan from draining.

They resolved all of the issues at their expense. I love the shower!

They made everything right. They're going to use my case, along with tons of photos, to train their sales people and installers to do their due diligence prior to selling products.

I had to hire my own plumber because West Shore denied any responsibility for the stall not draining. As it turned out, they did not install the proper plumbing for a shower. They installed 2" pipe at the drain but did not remove the two traps and put in 2" pipe all...

Original review Jan 16, 2023
The sales pitch was October 17th. The first attempt to install the shower was not finished due to pipes in the way. Custom materials had to be ordered and we waited two months for them to come in. The second installation was messed up because the installer didn't read the work order. My old exhaust fan was removed during the first attempt and the ceiling panel was supposed to cover the hole. The second installer cut *** in the ceiling panel for an exhaust fan, which was supposed to be covered up. The shower door frame had damage and the walls were not caulked all the way to the floor. I could still use the shower in the meantime, so I thought. After getting the water warm enough to shower, I had to turn the water off to get into the stall. Otherwise, my floor would be soaked because the nozzle can't be turned away from the shower stall doors. I finally get everything ready, stepped into the stall, closed the doors, turned on the water and the shower base pan filled with water and didn't drain. I had to turn the water off and get out of the wading pool, dry off, get dressed and call service ... again! This is not the experience West Shore promises and now they've got over $15,000 and I still don't have a shower! The order was placed in October. November 16th was the first attempt for the installation. January 13th was the second attempt. Three months later, I still have no shower stall. Horrible experience!

Resolved: They came to give me an estimate

I refused their sales tactics.

Original review Sep 14, 2022
Originally priced out a tub to walk in shower. The salesman claimed all these high ratings from reviews. Priced out the remodel at $21,000 then offered a discount down to $18,000. Then offered a discount for cash but only if i signed the contract right then and there bringing it down to $12,000. Something was fishy so i excused myself to get on my computer to find out the their Yelp rating was only two stars out of 5. Saw many complaints. This was a high pressure sales technique and I wasn't having any part of it. He told me that IF I called back the next day it would revert back to $14,000. Here's the REAL kicker he asked if i was sure the sticking point wasn't price because if it was he could call the office...that let me know they would have gone even lower if asked. I don't do business like that...asked him to leave!

It was a nightmare

They didn’t show up when they said they would. Then they didn’t call I had to call them.

Then when they did show up they were late.

They in no way could have got thru in 1 day as promised. The installers didn’t even seem to have the whole list of the scope of work on...

We were having large new walk in shower installed. They didn’t show up when they said the would. Didn’t call or anything. Their communication/customer service *** They busted holes in adjacent walls, installed hot/cold water backwards, didn’t seal tub, show door dragged, all parts and pieces not shipped had to be re-ordered and brought out ALD. A 1 day 1 day job ended up taking them a total of 3 days and 6 visits to complete including the punch out items. It was the worst experience in my life!
