Young Lady tried to steal a dog from Viola Valley Dogs.

The whole story is not told here. An adoption was approved but the people decided not to adopt. No contract was signed and she asked to foster a few days and see if it would work out. She then refused to let Viola Valley Dogs, Inc. take back the Doberman which was rightfully theirs and demanded it be turned over to a Doberman Rescue. Viola Valley Dogs had to take the Deputy Sheriff to the home to get the dog returned to our rescue. The person tried to steal a dog that was rescued by Viola Valley Dogs. The Doberman was sent to the vet to be put down because it had an objected lodged in its stomach. Viola Valley Dogs was the only committed person to saving this dog. I worked hard Saturday and Sunday to raise the vet's fee of $1,170 to give the vet on Monday. This person started on me wanting to adopt and was a friend of the vet tech who contacted me to save the dog. The vet tech wanted me to let this person to adopt and said she would make a wonderful home. The vet tech's mom also said the same. I also got another reference on this young lady. She picked Simon up for me on Saturday because I was transporting puppies to another rescue. I stopped back by her house after returning home and she was already saying she was not sure they could keep him and wanted to foster a few days. I believe this was planned from the beginning, and she thought she could get away with it. Simon is beginning foster by a wonderful family and working with him because he is a very hyper dog and needs working with before he can be adopted by anyone. I never wanted to rush an adoption on him and will not adopt him until he has settled down. This girl was a theft.

ADOPTERS BEWARE - This is not a reputable rescue!

This rescue has been in trouble for selling puppies in parking lots as well as adopting mature dogs out that have yet to be spayed or neutered. This is a violation of their 501c3 rules. Contact Warren County Humane society for more information regarding these incidents. The spokesperson for this rescue has also openly admitted to housing 100+ dogs inside of her actual home in addition to several more dogs in her "puppy building" and numerous other outdoor kennels for her "older and un-adoptable dogs". This rescue has also openly denied help from other highly regarded AKC rescues to place some of her animals in perfect, per-screened and vet approved homes. She has instead opted to keep said animals in boarding kennels because she doesn't have any other room for them until her petfinder ads get a hit because she's "been doing rescue for 13 years. If they can find him a home, so can I." When you allow you ego to get in the way of an animal's perfect forever, you are no longer doing them any justice or "rescuing" said animal and have therefore, failed them. Always check rescues before purchasing from a breeder. There are countless reputable rescues to deal with. This is NOT one of them.

Not providing true adoption assistance

Beware. True "rescue" people always have the dog's best interest at heart. When given the option of contacting a 401K well known breed specific rescue in order to allow them to start the process to take a dog that was not working out in a new placement to a pre-approved home, the spokesperson for this group chose instead to take the dog back, board him in a kennel until she could find 'her own home' because she's 'been doing this for years and if they can find him a home she sure can' (again, best interest of the dog or ego??). Refusal to even speak to the other rescue does not in any way show concern or compassion for the dog. Other reviews concerning this incident with screenshots may be provided for credibility. Hopefully they will reconsider and contact the other rescue. Sad situation for a wonderful dog.

Viola Valley Dog Rescue should have a return policy

I rescue dogs and cat and find homes for them for free, and if the family is not happy with the dog or cat, I pick it back up and find another home. If you pay $300 for a dog that you are not happy with, the dog is not going to be happy either, so the people should get their money back and the rescue should find a home that wants the dog!! The purpose of rescue is to place a dog in a happy home with a loving family, and if the people do not get the dog they want, the dog will not be happy either because it is not wanted. Dogs know when they are not wanted.

I LOVE VIOLA VALLEY DOGS

I adopted a puppy from viola valley dogs and got not what I went after but got what I needed.Linda is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met.It says alot about a person who's heart is so big.I can not believe the gaul of some people go to a rescue shelter to get a full blooded DOG. GO TO A BREEDER.I got a pit instead of a spaniel but the thing is is she is a very good dog.If you want a pure bred dog go to a breeder. Not a rescue shelter.

Violavalleydogs, screwed me good

I lost my beloved yorkie in an accident, and looking for another one found what was listed as a yorkie at VIOLA VALLEY DOGS of warren co. tennessee. being part of pet finders I trusted them, I did not get a yorkie, I got a mutt for $300.00. I should have known it was a dirty deal when she wanted to meet in lowes parking lot in McMinvill, but dumb me trusted her and took the dog and paid her. Got home and clipped part of his baby cot off and found I had a half starved mutt, with no people skills, starving and covered in fleas. Avoid them like the plague, unless you get recommendations and Call the recommendation.
