These people only care about money!

Please do not take you loving pets to this place. They are terrible people, only interested in money not in saving your pets' lives. You would think a veterinary's main interest is saving animals, isn't that why you get into this line of work? Because you love animals and want to save them? An animal rescue, rescues animals everyday, saves their lives, do they make a lot of money? I'm not sure, but I am sure they are animal lovers. Here is my story; we had a sweet Maltese puppy he was just over a year old, his name was Ty. We moved into a more rural area, a few days ago he was outside like always before going to bed, and was attacked by a coyote, our other dog a Manchester Terrier is faster & was able to outrun them or just got lucky. Our Maltese had some bites, he was able to run in the house, but was bleeding and in pain. We called our vet, which referred us to Veterinary Referral Center of East Dallas, Beltline Rd., in Mesquite. My husband rushed our sweet puppy over there, a 30 min drive. The first thing I was told on the phone by the receptionist, it's going to cost you $75 just for seing him & we don't except checks, this after I told her what happened, with panic in my voice! Great job lady! Fast forward, they check him, told my husband it will cost us $1,295 to initiate surgery, but once they do, there is garantee he will survive. My husband told them we can't afford that, we have 3 young children. She said, I understand sir, we can put tubes in him, stich him up, you can take him home & take him to your vet in the morning, but that will cost you $800, he may not make it through the night, but if he does your vet may be able to do the surgery for less money! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? How can you even be working with animals. In a time of need, our pet is suffering, we love him and want to save him, but don't have that money, and those are our options?? Cough up the money or take your bleeding pet with you home so he can die. Do these people have kids, I wonder if they go home & tell their children, honey mommy helps animals & saves animals lives. So we really didn't have a choice, but to let him go. I guess they were just fine with that, killing a little puppy because we couldn't pay that insane amount of money. We still had to pay almost $500 for the visit, X-rays, etc. Oh, and aren't they nice to send us a card afterwards, how thoughtful, aren't they?
