Poor treatment when got a comfort adjustment, maximum price in spite of CoVid19 delay rather than our carelessness

The mattress did not seem stable and was giving my wife a lot of leg pain & some back pain, but due to the pandemic, no customer adjustments were being done. Not our fault your staff couldn't work due to CoVid19 danger to customers & to them, but we were held to the warranty period and refused the free adjustment. Therefore, instead of ONE FREE comfort adjustment, or even a $99 adjustment considering the long CoVid19 delays, the Layton Ave. store held us to the maximum price, for an adjustment of $300. We decided to do it anyway to stop her severe pain, but this is how we were treated: a) We were told someone would call us to check mattress condition to see if it was wear or comfort, and they'd pick up the mattress July 23rd. They did come out and check condition, but then we were told that appointment would need to be delayed to August 12th. b) We agreed to the delay, and were told that on August 11th we would get a telephone call with time frame. But- Nobody called us, so my wife tried to call the store, but only got answering machine and nobody replied to her message. c) On August 12th, the truck & moving staff (Anthony & Chris) suddenly just just showed up- luckily we had decided to stay home until someone came and hope they WOULD come, when we couldn't reach anyone at the store again that morning. The movers were very polite and careful to wrap and move the mattress safely , and when I told them we were never told when they'd be coming, they said something must have gone wrong with the phone number we gave the store, especially when I said it since it takes voice messages but not texts, but they'd give the store our two cell phone numbers, both of which take text AND voice messages, so we wouldn't have to chance waiting around all day for redelivery after the comfort adjustment. They suggested I also call to confirm those cell numbers with the store, just in case their note got lost. I did call the store a few minutes after they left, but again only got an answering machine even though it was late morning and the store was open. I left both cell numbers, explaining we had just been lucky to be home because nobody called in advance as Darrell promised, and asked they be sure to contact us on one of the cell numbers, & leave a text or voice message, if nobody answered so we'd know what time of day to be home for redelivery. But again- Nobody called back, so my wife (3rd attempt to contact the store) left the information early that evening of July 12th just in case the movers' AND my message had been lost. d) AGAIN- Nobody called, so we had to wait around until a different crew (don't know their names) showed up with the mattress and just rang the doorbell. The mattress was wrapped in plastic and brought safely upstairs, in fairness to these movers, but just thrown carelessly on the bed and off to one side. My wife noticed one end was also laying high, so I had to lift it to check, and discovered they had knocked one end of the metal support bracket out of the adjustable bed frame. ( Luckily she noticed it in time, or the bottom of mattress could have been ripped when we moved the frame to a comfortable setting, but with the handles never having been replaced after the comfort adjustment, it was hard for me to lift high enough to get it back safely in the hole of adjustable frame. e) Why, during the comfort adjustment they had removed the side handles and never replaced them, is a mystery to me, making it much harder to lift. You should replace those handles ASAP. f) After all these problems, I am angry at the repeated sloppy treatment we were given both on phone contacts and on the mattress being put so carelessly it could have ripped when it was adjusted, at the handles being removed and not replaced, and at our getting stuck for the maximum $300 comfort charge when it wasn't our fault the comfort and delivery people couldn't work during CoVid19. I know we were over the limit on free adjustment, but I believe at LEAST they should have done it for the $99 with CoVid19 delays, even if we were beyond the free period, but we are being billed for the highest price of $300 so far as Darrell told my wife Christy. PLEASE tell us what can be done about the lifting handles being replaced ASAP so we can lift the mattress, and consider lowering the price after all this repeated nonsense. We certainly do NOT feel valued as customers, but I have been patient and polite enough to not give a negative review so far, instead contacting you asking for the lifting handles problem to be solved and a lower price considered than that full $300. Best Mattress ever

The service was very quick. No problems with box spring exchange.

Mattress ,Pillows & mattress protecter are cooling.My original sheets fit great! No more sleepless nights.

We recently purchased a V9/pillows from Fort Atkinson location... It took use a few weeks to adjust ..Its the best matress. Sleeps great! I highly recommend it. Kim Fink (manager) took time to educate us. He is very informative & personable. Had to exchange Box spring (to the 2" Box spring. The delivery scheduled quick. The guys where on time & very nice. We will purchase the 2nd one we need from Verlo as well. Great experience! Thank you, Kim Fink

Worst sleep ever

We got our mattress from greenfield wi last year, and I must stay we are so happy we kept our old mattress. Talk about a terrible sleep or no sleep at all. We got the adjustment done and it was OK for about 2 weeks. Now I’m rolling around for 2-3 hours before I fall asleep. I have never experienced that with any mattress in my life. Laying on our 9 year old mattress in the guest room feels like Christmas. I cannot believe their superb sales tactics and in store experience make them able to sell such a horrible mattress! Let me just add it’s the V5

Pleasant Verlo experience

I cannot say enough good about my experience with the Verlo Mattress Store in St. Charles,MO> Dave at my local Verlo store did what everyone thought was impossible--he custom made me a mattress for my Soma Tube waterbed. It fits perfectly,is pretty to look at and once again I am in love with my bed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again Dave,and Verlo for making my sleep experience on my new bed just great.!!!!! No one thought that making me a new mattress for my special kind of bed would be possible but Verlo took on the challenge and exceeded !!And if I might add--it was custom made in 1(one) day !!! I don't think you can beat that???!!!

Terrible Experience

Worst experience in our lives as far as buying a bed and shortly after having major issues with the bed.Took it in for an adjustment and they keep the bed so your left with nothing to sleep on until the process is completed. I had to see a chiropractor after sleeping on there bed. He told me it was the bed. My husband and I took his advise and purchased a sleep number bed. No more chiropractor. I contact Verlo to attempt to get a partial refund for the mattress we did not even have 8 months and they refused. I contacted the BBB and they still would not make things right. Recommendation STAY FAR AWAY FROM VERLO. Never again would we even step foot in there store. The worst bed business we have ever been involved with!!!

One sided matress-bad,bad,and bad

I gave it a try and rotated it ike they said but it has body grooves and is so uncomfortable,my body hurts every morning!! It is supposrd to get 8 yrs out of it and I am at 3 and miserable. The product is a onesided mattress that you rotate every month ,and you do not flip because of the one side . I thought that would be great as I age,but I am not satified with the wear and how my body feels.I am sick of having to fight for a good product.My parents mattress lasted for years.What is up with this? Just want a good product,or this this just a gimmick to buy more mattresses? Will not recommend them to anyone.

Hate my new mattress

Bought a new mattress four years ago because the one I bought 20 years ago was so comfortable My new mattress is squeaking And unsupportive I swithched mattresses with my dog, who inherited my old mattress. Patch(the dog) Frank(me) are very sad about your product He hates his new bed I’m sleeping well in the 20 year old one

Very positive experience

Verlo really worked to be sure that we were totally satisfied. When we called and complained we were still “sleeping hot” they not only refunded the money we had spent on mattress pad they’d recommended but drove out the next day to our house (30 miles from the factory store) put in an additional layer of cotton batting on top,had us come in and test it and then reseed it back up and redelivered to our house 2 hours later. Everyone was very pleasant and patient and reassured us that they will make every attempt at being sure the customer has a positive experience with their company. We were delighted with our experience and are now sleeping on the best mattress we’ve ever owned. I’m speaking about Fort Atkinson WI Verlo mattress store which displays a way beyond expected customer service. Thank you again Kim and factory workers..you’re the best! Sincerely Patty Behrend

So bad

Three mattress have failed.. Boulder, Colorado Factory owner will not refund my money that i asked for when 3rd mattress failed, I would rather sleep on the floor than to ever purchase another Verlo mattress. Horrible.. just horrible experience. When the first 2 mattresses failed i was ok with their warranty to repair,, now that the third mattress has failed.. I want my money back,, all i am getting are excuses. I want my money back and they are not going to do that saying they will only repair my failing mattress. I refuse to accept their will to repair since i have had three Verlo mattresses fail. I would never ever recommend this company especially the Boulder Verlo Factory. Slick sales people, horrible experience.

Terrible mattress

Right from the start we had a bad experience. We have an old house will steep narrow stairs to the second floor. We told the sales person at the store, but the delivery men complained the whole time. Tje mattress was so uncomfortable. We bought a king size V9 pillow top. The mattress is so heavy it's very hard to flip. My husband has a very bad back and sleeping on this mattress made his back so much worse. After about 1month we had Verlo come back and make the mattress more firm. It did not help at all. We suffered on this very expensive mattress for a year before trying a new mattress. When shopping for tjis msttress, the salesman discouragrd us from a memory foam mattress saying they are terrible for people with a bad back. We decided to try a casper mattress after hearing the great reviews and they guarantee their mattresses or your money back. Verlo will not refund our money. From day one, tje casper mattress was a million times better. We lost so much money on the verlo mattress. We will never buy from them or reccommemd them to anyone!

Purchase of a verlo mattress

After taking the advice of a co-worker, who has owned a verlo mattress for 20 years and loves it, I decided to check out verlo for my mattress purchase. My husband and I decided on the v9 plush queen size mattress but it was way too firm. I really tried getting through the 30 day "break in" period, but I was in pain and not sleeping well at all on this bed. We paid the extra money to have the mattress made into a pillowtop. While the pillowtop is softer, it's not at all what I expected as far as comfort. I still do not sleep well on this mattress and it has not reduced pain in the pressure points at all. My shoulders do not settle into this mattress and I have had shoulder and neck pain everyday since purchasing my verlo. Their claim of limited partner movement disturbance is a joke, I feel my husband when he moves, more in this bed then in our last. I will give this mattress the full 30-60 day adjustment period but if its no better than I will be contacting verlo once again. I will say that thus far, I have not had any difficulty with verlo responding to me or with their pickup and delivery staff. They have responded in a timely manner. When I think of what I paid for this bed! it should feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud.

Verlo Mattress, never buy from them

This update corrects typo errors We had 2 mattress sets delivered today for a total of $ 2800, The merchandise is fine but it was the worst delivery experience I had in my whole life.Two delivery man came, one of them was belligerent and started complaining about picking up old mattresses and how they don't get paid for that. The, I asked a simple question about the placement of the box spring.

Having never seen this style, I remarked that it looks upside down.I got an explosive reaction: "You insulted me, you disrespected me I do this every day I know what I am doing" and on and on with tremendous anger laughing in my face. It escalated to shouting with incredible belligerence on his part. Then I asked if they had the mattress covers, he said it’s not on the invoice. I was prepared to call the office when suddenly he came forward with them.

I watch them install the first one so as to learn the technique and explained that to him. He took insult again and another confrontation ensued. He told me how he can't wait to leave, I told him I can't wait unto you do leave. I called the owner to complain in their presence, the delivery man blatantly laughed in my face and laughed loudly so the owner could hear it.

The owner listened but was very defensive.

I will never never buy from Verlo again. Review about: 2 Complete Mattress Sets.

Verlo was perfect for me.

My wife and I bought a Verlo mattress about 15 years ago. I think it had a 10 year warranty. It was not one of the higher end products but we have been very satisfied with it. After 15 years we are going to get another mattress. Ours is still fine but we would like a king. Verlo is our first choice for our new mattress. We had our verlo mattress delivered June 18,2016.We went to the showroom several times trying the V7 plush coming to the conclusion this was the best fit for us.However when delevered this mattress was delivered it was very firm.The first night we awakened with back pain.So the that day we went back to the store and tried the same mattress again.The one at the store was comfortable,however the one we purchased for $1700.00 was not and in fact the same but a very firm mattress.The sales lady said they could pick up the new mattress and add more padding but who knows what kind of mattress you will get back.After all we didnt get the mattress we wanted in the first place.(the sales lady did check the manufacture date on the floor model and it had been made and put on the showroom floor 1 week before we bought ours,so its not like it had been used for long to change the comfort level by having hundreds of shoppers lie on it changing the comfort level.S o the second night we again only slept a couple of hours because of back pain.Monday morning we went to Kohls department store and purchased a Serta 3 inch gel memory foam matress topper for $300.00.What an amazing product!We were determined not to sleep on that Verlo mattress one more night.We would had slept on the floor instead.The Serta mattress topper solved our problem.Would highly recommend the mattress topper to anyone in the same boat as us.

Verlo mattress

If you go to Verlo there are plenty of open sales people to help you, however, I don't think that their advice should be taken literally. Do the research, know what you want before you go there. If you want a soft mattress, know that ahead of time as if you get a firm mattress and want it softer, you will pay extra for the softer materials later, as they don't have complete ability to completely tweek a firm to be a soft mattress without paying for higher priced latex and foam or coils. You will pay for softer latex to be put in along with a different cover should it be too firm. They will try to do what they can however to make a firm mattress softer, but can only go so far with the materials that are made in the mattress to begin with if you wanted a firmer mattress to be soft. My experience was they made my mattress and the top cover was way to loose, it bunched up when delivered, they took it back to the factory and glued the layers of foam to the top cover so it would not be too loose. When they brought it back to the factory this time, they had to tear all that foam off the cover to adjust it. They did however say they would put some new materials in as the old ones ripped upon removal, according to when I left it looked that way, I don't know if the new materials were in it however like they said when it was returned as you cannot see inside after the cover is sewn on. Long story short, do your research and know what you want, soft or firm as these mattress' cost really a lot and you don't want to find out afterwards they cannot adjust it opposite from what you wanted because of the design of the mattress in the first place. Take your time, go back over and over again, on a bad day as well as a good day to make your decision. You want to be able to keep a mattress this expensive a longer time and not be sorry for buying at verlo in the first place.
