Disappointed costumer

I think it's funny how they can get your bank information right every time to take out your money but they can't get your email and password correct and constantly say there's an error on it or they give you like *** information when they actually go through and give you information. It seems like since Colby went on everybody gets a free pass to be a half *** jobs and ***

US SEARCH - BEWARE OF THIS SITE!

I just got off the phone with USSearch customer service. I requested my name be removed from this search site permanently. They offer an "opt out" option which requires you to search your name(s) thus showing each relative profile. In order to opt-out, you need to print a copy of each association and, together with a copy of your driver's license (photo & license # hidden), forward all paperwork via USPS (they don't accept any other method). First off, USSearch provides NO MAILING ADDRESS. Hence, my call to get the address which was provided me. However, customer service stated "you must send in......and you understand this is only temporary". I said, "What do you mean temporary"? He said they will remove the information they currently have, but if my name shows up, say in a month, all of my information will be re-posted. I said "what's the sense in sending in all of this paperwork to "opt-out" if it's only temporary?” He stated I would then have to send the "new" paperwork to opt-out AGAIN! This is absolutely insane! So, this is a never-ending process! I hope this site gets reported for false advertising and complete invasion of privacy after offering a prompt to "opt-out" which does no such thing! In their wording to "opt-out", no mention of it being "temporary" is stated. Shame on them for false advertising and for demanding paperwork that doesn't hold water. I'm disabled and I'm sick of deceit! Stay away from this site!

US SEARCH www.ussearch.com - One of the Biggest Scams

There are plenty of sites that collect and make your personal records and information accessible to anyone for any reason - so long as they're willing to pay a fee for it. No security for those whose information is being offered out. Most do offer some sort of opt out, but USSearch.com is one of those that makes it very difficult, requiring the below: "In order for us to process your request, we need to verify your identity. Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license. We will only use this information to process your request. No request will be processed without complete information and verification of identity." http://www.ussearch.com/privacylock (scroll to bottom) and then there's this: "If your identifying information, such as your address or area code changes, you will need to opt out again to prevent your new information from appearing. In order for us to suppress or opt out your personal information from appearing on our Website, we need to verify your identity. To do this, we require you to send us proof of identity via postal mail or fax, which we will use only to process your opt-out request. Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license. Please cross out everything but your name, address, and date of birth before sending us the proof of identity." http://www.ussearch.com/about/privacy (under 3) So even once you go through all the trouble, and if something's actually done, if your address or phone number changes 6 months down you will have to do the same all over (always providing them more copies of extremely personal info) Further, you can't verify what address they're listing you under (in order to use in your request for removal - and the info submitted must match what they have listed for you) without purchasing your own information. I called and asked if they were seriously suggesting that the only way for me to determine what address they posted online for me, in order to request it be removed, was to pay them for a copy of my OWN info - he assured me that yes, that was the only way. I've removed data from a few of these sites listing me at addresses I haven't lived at in years. You could possibly spend months trying to get the exact info they have listed if you chose not to buy a copy of it from them. I'd love to find out if there are any protections for individuals or legislation in the works. If there's something added to your credit report you're given the right to know and verify or dispute it, as well as place a freeze on it so that no one can simply request it. Surely we have some sort of right to access our own marketed information beyond credit reports - either to opt out or to determine whether we really want the world to know what color underware we purchased last week. They're not at all accessible either, making them seem even more unseemly. Under contact, they list a toll free number of (800) 877-****, and their listed address is not a physical address but a PO Box: US Search PO BOX 4145 Bellevue, WA 98009-**** and if you visit their Careers page it gives and HR email and otherwise just says Located in Los Angeles It's not as if there's a way of preventing the collection of personally identifiable info save visiting ea site and requesting it's removal - Open season for identity thieves, stalkers, and other criminals - But this company is flat out despicable. We need legislation that allows non-offenders and non-criminals a right to privacy - at the very least (since these sites argue that the info they sell is available to all if they take the time to search) a guaranteed right to access ones own personal info without having to pay for it, and then an easy way to opt out. There should also be some sort of liability if a company does sell such private information to a party or parties resulting in damage or harm to the person whose info was sold.

Ussearch.com is a scam

This company is a complete scam, please save yourself the aggrivation and pick a different site if you are looking for information. I did a nationwide search on there site and it came back with no results, when i could find some of the information needed by just searching google. I had contacted them and they had every excuse under the sun why they will no refund the amount and how there is no guarntee, but i guess we could all be millionaires if we set up a site had people pay a fee and send them results saying their wasnt any and get to keep the money. I cant imagine how may people this company has stolen from!!!!

USSearch.com Frauded Me With Monthly Service Charge

USSearch.com on the face looks like a great service. To get background information on a person, you need to signup for the membership and then you are upcharged huge fees for the requisite information. First, they didn't clearly communicate the $19.95 fee in monthly. Second, the base reports are essentially worthless, you have to pay more. Finally, I ran 4 reports, 2 of the reports couldn't complete and deliver a report. The bait and switch on the monthly fee in my opinion an FTC violation and hopefully this company gets fined. I don't recommend this company to any business seeking background check services.
