Gouging

They now want to charge $4.95 to take payment over the phone! Enough is Enough Moving my things soon! Beware consumers

Not only did they mess up payments they later claimed they were not made and my unit was infested with bugs. The customer service was the worst I have ever seen.

I tried to speak with them after being there so many years but they are too stupid to understand human decency. I guess it might be different if the employees actually owned any business. They are liars as well and they stole things from out of my unit.

Waive Late Fee for First Time Offense -Horrible Customer Experience with nager Ashley

Traveling out of country and just returned on the 5th received voicemail upon my entry back into US for phone service was not available. Placed a call today on 9/6 to make a payment and was immediately informed that we reached out to you to avoid the late fee the was applied to your account today. I requested if the late fee can be waived due to being out of country and my card on file was blocked due to fraudulent activity. However the response I received from Sarah and Ashley was the worst customer service I have experienced - they were rude not helpful with providing a resolution. I was informed it was AGAINST THEIR POLICY to WAIVE FEES. I asked is this policy in the contract - response NO but it is my STORE SO WE DO NOT WAIVE the $20 fee. I asked is there a corporate number that I can call. I was told they DO NOT have to provide the corporate number you can google it yourself. I requested her lat name and Ashley stated I DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE OUT MY LAST NAME FOR I'M THE ONLY ASHLEY at the LAKE ST Aurora location. Google Life storage corporate and the 800-800-**** automatically redirects to the local life storage office your phone is nearby. I even called the NY number and the person who answered the phone was Sarah and I asked what location is this and she stated it was the Aurora location. It's unfortunate that I was not able to get in touch with the corporate office to discuss the rudeness of their Aurora Location on Lake Street Managers and how they treat a customer.

Storage of a vehicle

I called Uncle Bob's storage, around the corner from where I live, told them that I wanted to store my Pick up, with out any tags. I had only the title. They responded with that it was alright, as long as I had some proof of ownership. I paid a tow company $95 to bring it to the storage space that was paid for. Two hours later, I got a phone call to remove the vehicle because it was not legal. The person that I spoke with didn't remember our conversation. It cost another $95 to have it towed off the lot. I could have saved that $190, instead of giving it to a towing company. Then they told corporate that they did not do anything wrong. I went to another company and had no trouble, after explaining to them what Uncle Bob's had done. Nice work, keep up the lies, some day it will *** you in the buttocks.

They auctioned my storage a day before due date

I was told that they wouldn't auction off belongings if paid by Friday yet they auctioned it off on Thursday what a setup. Made my compliant and these are the words they stand on "you didn't pay" then he says they don't get paid for auction however had issues with this man since moving my belongings in their facility. Most of my belongings were sentimental and can never replace. Keep in mind I had these belongings in Bay Shore for 7 years. They can atest that when I got a letter about auction that day or day after it was bought up to date. I would sell my body before allowing it to be auctioned! Since this time I have attempted several suicides! My entire family archives has been with me. I can't help but cry because of the carelessness and disregard to my belongings. Please, DO NOT TRUST UNCLE BOB's!!!!!! Now they've changed their name. They are still crooked. I am not the only one this has been done to and sure it won't be the last!

Uncle Bobs Parking Lot Facility Review

I have 4 parking spaces got eviction notice for parking a little over the line ,then the staff had a argument w other my driver over a garden hose,1 month later got a certified letter there charging $20 a month for water for each truck you haven t charged me in 5 years now you charge for water iam afraid to use the bathroom or breath the air

Facility floods and customer service from co. is horrible

The Uncle Bob’s/Life Storage property in Brentwood FLOODS. It’s smack dab in Deer Creek’s flood plain. Silly me, I had thought when I stashed my family photos and other irreplaceable items there that no one would build a storage facility in a known flood area. What makes things far worse is that the customer service from the company higher-ups is horrible. In August 2015, I found out the facility had flooded when I received an email from the company TWO DAYS AFTER the flood saying the property was closed, electrical power was out, and people were not permitted access to their units. Heartsick, I phoned the facility. The manager, Mike, told me the TRUTH. There WAS electricity and the facility was 100% accessible! I spent literally all night in my unit salvaging what I could. If I had believed the company's email, I would have lost even more, as water continued to seep through my boxes and mold set in. Then, I never did receive any notification saying the facility was open. No, I didn’t hear from the company again until they sent a letter 11 days after the flood, saying my unit had to be inspected by a company rep by September 7 or the company would break the lock to get in and inspect it. Of course the insurance they make you buy does not cover floods. With all the storage unit facilities in St. Louis, there is no reason whatsoever to use this place. I’m sorry for the current manager, Michelle. Like Mike, she really cares about her customers and is tremendously sweet and helpful. Storage space not locked properly

your staff member Lionel at your storage facility located in Mableton Ga , Veterans Memorial hwy, called me to alert me in regards to my storage compartment door not being locked properly, Lionel call possibly saved me thousands of dollars if someone had burglarized my storage space, I really was very grateful that Mr. Lionel was performing his Job today. also Lionel was very courteous. I really give high his customer service high marks, hopefully Uncle Bob's will acknowledge Lionel commitment and Customer Service. Lionel should be rewarded by uncle for his professionalism and honesty also because of Lionel I will choose Uncle Bobs next time I need to pay for a storage space.

My entire house is gone - theft, burglary and no help from management.

Our unit at 8350 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E in Houston Texas had everything stolen: furniture, appliances, lawn and garden. We had everything for a 3500 sq. ft. home housed here. Mervin Mejia is the site manager. Ken Ural is his manager - Richard Rodriguez is Corp.office. No one has cooperated or returned phone calls. The cameras were pointed away from our unit, gates are left open and no one can explain why unit alarm did not go off. Police report filed. We feel very strong this was an inside job. The receptionist told us 28 other units have been tampered with. If anyone else has been a victim at this location please contact us: If you see any of these items anywhere in Houston area please let us know. thank you. If you rented a unit from Uncle Bobs located at 8350 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E. ( by Pearland Pkwy and beltway 8) and your unit was vandalized, we need to hear from you. We were vandalized and the circumstances are very shady. Management = Mervin Mejia Manager and Ken Ural = District Manager - refuses to cooperate. Not once did Mervin or Ken attempt to go view the unit with me after I reported theft. Cameras pointing in wrong direction, We are not allowed to view any video, etc.... Our whole home was taken, worse yet, items that cannot be replaced. Any help is appreciated. If you see any of these items anywhere please let us know. Thank you.

Happy on Huebner!

Uncle Bobs# 322 at Huebner Road in San Antonio was great! From Day one when I was searching for a storage space, Vera was terrific on the phone and in person. I rented a Climate Controlled unit at a fair price based on my comparisons and Vera even got me a space that was close to the door and made it easier to load in/out! Also, anytime I entered the build to access my storage space I noticed that the AC was actually set to a reasonable temperature and knew my items were being protected, which is the point right? Other spaces I have used I did not feel I got my moneys worth as the AC was not set cold enough to really make it Climate Controlled! I highly Recommend Uncle Bob's and Vera!

Uncle Bobs the South west CLERK'S unlawfully called manager (rip off men). They rob every month from customers rsising high % rent. Then, they mess up payments on line to rip you off late fees. They let HOMEless man live in storages, x $ under table. The employees are corrupt. We will go to the news - nation wide and Congress men tk stop thiz terrorist oppressors of tenants. UNCLE BOBS STORAGE HAS THE RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MOST DEFINITELY THE RUDEST AND WORST REGIONAL MANAGER EVER!

I have been renting a storage unit at Uncle Bob's Storage in Topsham, Maine for over two years now and it sucks! God help me. I can't stand the manager, Sam but I have to say the worst human I have ever spoke with (hands down), has to be the regional manager. WOW!!!!!!! She is by far the most ignorant female I have ever had the misfortune of speaking with. There is nobody home. To call her a bird brain would be an understatement. I was late on my rent and they tacked on a $30.00 late fee. It was over this past labor day weekend/holiday. I called on the 4th to make payment but they were closed. I called the reservation line to try to make a telephone payment and was told that they couldn't take a payment over the phone. I did not have internet access and explained this when I went into the Topsham store on the 5th. I handed Sam my debit card but when she told me that she would be debiting my card 184.00 (instead of the $154.00 because of the late fee), I asked her to hand the card back to me and requested that the late fee be waived. She replied that she couldn't but that she'd have the regional manager call me. When she called me she insulted me by telling me that she just reviewed my account and noticed that I had been making my payments on line. She then in her very own special condescending tone asked why I didn't just make the payment on line. Even after being humiliated by her, I painfully explained why I no longer had internet access, and she still said no. Then why did she pry into my personal affairs and still say NO (?) I told her that I no longer had internet access. She informed me that the policy is to add a late fee if the customer is late. As if I didn't already hear that. She was rude, the worst part was her total lack of empathy, professionalism, and ability to resolve a simple problem. I was there on the 5th, but they were unwilling to compromise with me. This is unacceptable and I am aggravated with their lack of customer service. It truly sucks. Avoid these people, if possible rent space somewhere else. I can't wait to find a house to rent and be free of these nitwits.
