Customer service

Their customer service is TERRIBLE AND VERY RUDE. I bounced a check in January 2019. Which I wasn't aware of. I was NEVER notified that Crystal Moroney office received my information in May of 2019. I found out when I went to write a check that something was wrong. That was on February 4th 2020. The fine is paid and now Crystal Moroney's office says it takes 30 DAYS TO NOTIFY THE ORIGINAL MERCHANT!!!!! TERRIBLE

Harassment

This so called law offices have been calling me and leaving me messages. But they don't seem to call me when I'm able to answer my phone.

These collectors are RUDE, CONDESCENDING and outright UNPROFESSIONAL

They called me and asked to make a payment arrangement (which I agreed) they wanted me to pay 3 large payments which I couldn’t afford at the time. I agreed on what was financially fit for me. I paid through zelle and asked the representative to send me a letter or some kind of receipt and they never did! I just called again and the woman on the phone attempted to bully me into paying 3 large payments again! She was rude and hung up. They didn’t even ask me to identify myself or confirm anything she just started to tell me the last payment I made and how the amount was not enough!

Accused me of writing a check with fake account # to a bank that doesnt exist.

An extremely rude latina lady claiming to be Beverly James came at my wife aggressively over the phone. She said she wrote a check in August and they want her to pay $190 over the phone. My wife informed her we don't write checks and asked for the account number. After several requests, "Beverly" reluctantly gave her the account number which doesn't match any of our accounts! The check was written to and cashed at a bank that DOES NOT EXIST!! When I called 877-437-****, the law offices number, the receptionist calmly asked for my info and knew exactly what I was referring to. When I told her it was a scam she said to file an affidavit of fraud. I said - shouldn't I just call the police? SHe said no - just file the affidavit. Bottom line - this is a dirty back alley scam!! Don't fall for it. Record any calls from them and take careful notes.

Scam, rude

I recieved a call from this law office. Apparently it was for a bad check I wrote in Nov. of 2017. The man i talked to was very condescending and refused to send me a bill which debt collectors are required to do. I checked with the bank that i supposedly had the account with and discovered that i had closed the account in August 2017. It was a SCAM.

Excess fees

I was contacted about a bad check at a casino. I had already paid half of the debt before it was transferred to Crystal Moroney's office. Bad check charges in Oklahoma are $30. Crystal Moroney's *** office added $165 and refused to validate the debt unless I made a payment arrangement and threatened to "ruin my credit". I will not send ANYONE who calls, out of the blue, money they vlaim I owe them. Show me proof that you are not a scammer.

What a joke

These people are STILL trying to contact me saying I now owe over $2000 on a $35 bounced check that WAS paid 2 months after it happened. They will not send me proof of anything and I have proof it was paid and have even sent it to them. I paid the check with the original company

Paid Debt

I had a pleasant experience woth handling my textbook debt. I was able to get ot paid off so i could attend classes this fall. I'm not sure why people are calling this a scam, i'm just sure there are many poeple upset with the debt they have and just come on the internet to complain. Just pay your bills and stay away from handling your money horribly i guess...?

Was called by their group claiming to have a textbook Id already returned due. The guy proceeded to YELL at me over this school book and the got upset that we didnt answer a precious phone call. I tried to explain that we get busy and dont answer phone calls we dont recognize. This made him angrier for some reason and I told him to have a nice day and hung up. Hanging up on scams is always a great day to dtart your morning, I totally reccommend it :)

Personally, don't think it's a scam.

Like many people in this group, I didn't return a rental book, and therefor owed money. This happened last year, and I had been getting calls directly from the company, before it was transferred over to this office. A lot of people are pointing out that they're university didn't inform them of any debt, but the bookstore is independent from the university. The rental company that works with bookstores is a separate company, they sell their books through university bookstores, but are their own entity. Like I said, for a year I had been getting calls from the company, and then they transferred my debt over to this law office. I was a little apprehensive, but the debt I had was real. And I knew that I didn't return the book and had a fee. I'm sure if you go directly to the company it might be cheaper, but I really doubt this is a scam. What's scam might be the cost, but that's a separate story.

What the heck?

Today I received a call at 12:40 pm from 845-875-****. The name on the phone said Crystal Moroney Law. However. when I called that number, it turned out to be a Subaru dealership. This is so weird and strange. Anyway, I am thinking they are using regular numbers so that people will pick up their calls. I have asked my cable company (Comcast) to stop enabling robocalling as both my husband and I are disabled. The calls have gone from about 10 a day (chimney sweep, winning a home makeover, lowering interest rates to 0 on my credit cards blah blah blah 0 to about 3-4 calls getting through. They do not leave messages.

DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE

Someone called me from 1 88* 225 **** which was no name on caller Id saying that I owed them money when I asked who they were the person got rude and aggressive, I asked to spell her name and she said like the color.I then asked for her supervisor she said there wasn't one she was the manager. I asked for the attorney on record and she wouldn't get her or put me thru to her voice mail.I tried to call back and she still wouldn't put me thru then she hung up on me, I then tried again and she sent me to her own voicemail... I am not sure this is a real company the person I spoke with was so rude that I do not think a company would have that type of person working for them ... The Law Offices of Crystal Moroney

Total Scam

As with many people getting call from this company, they said I owed money for a book that I rented through my University. They could not tell me the full Title of the book, claiming it was "cut-off" on their records. I had already graduated from this University, and knew this call was a fraud because you can not receive your diploma with an outstanding account balance. I pretend to go along with it and told them I would call back. I then did my research on this company and found they do this same sort of thing to a lot of people. I called them back and left a message stating my rights from the Fair Debt Collection and haven't heard from them since.

The Law Offices of Crystal Moroney - Debt Collection Review

Just a typical low-class paper picking thief consortium. They will call on debts no longer valid or owed that they have acquired for low cost, and immediately begin all contact with threats. When asked for any proof of debt validity or to contact your -actually legitimate- lawyers, the woman (singular. Pretty sure it's a very small operation with no legitimacy) will insult you and hang up abruptly. My attorneys have advised me the following: "DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE ***-ARTISTS. They will obtain your financial information and use it to scam you, while leaving structured debts in place and attributing your entire debt re-payment to a service charge. When they call, calmly notify them you will be recording the entire conversation for your legal team. Like any scammer, she will hang up immediately or throw a fit - this is fine, and due to lack of any real power or authority. If she refuses to be recorded, simply request all information be sent in print to [a registered PO Box or address of your attorney]. If she continues calling you after this and does not honor the request for proof, recording, or written correspondence, you may file a complaint with the FTC. This is in violation of several laws, and will cost them much more than the change they are trying to fleece you for. If the debt is valid, paper pickers like this are simply trying to *** you out of a service fee. Contact the original debtor and settle directly. It will starve out flea-market "lawyers" like this and save you a large amount of money. TL;DR - Ms. Moore is a scam artist. Block and ignore.

Extremely Rude

I got a call from them, they said I owed money. I tried to talk with the person, find out what this money was from, who did I owe and for what reason? She told me how valuable there time was and that I would have to do some research and find out, giving me a company name that I could not get anything but dead ends from, and she did not have time to just sit here on the phone with me while I figured things out. She quickly said something about having her phone number then hung up on me... I still have no idea what this was about. How is a place like this even allowed to operate?
