Poor customer service

I paid way over $300 for a year subscription for a paper and have had a lot delivery problems. Supposedly they have credited my account but there is no where I can see these credits. I have called about not getting a paper and ask for one to be delivered and nothing shows up. Of course the customer service person is in another country and doesnt help at all. My problem obviously goes no where since its still a problem. GR Press delivery - you suck!

No paper delivery

Once again we did not get delivery of the Sunday paper. We are on a Sunday only delivery and consistently do not receive it. I am pretty sure at this time that our subscription will not be continued

Payment

To pay online a customer is not allowed an option to choose how much they want to pay. There are three choices, none of which I would choose. How can we enter the payment amount we want?

Poor delivery

Our delivery is spotty at best. If we receive a paper, its often not in the box, but laying in the driveway or grass. Often our Sunday delivery is when were missed. We are told our account will be credited, but it never is. And its too hard to get ahold of anyone to complain!!!

Sunday paper is always late!!!

I don't want a credit, I just want my Sunday paper in the morning, not at 3 in the afternoon. We have been getting the paper for close to forty years on and off. On Sunday morning we enjoyed reading it before our day gets started. We have a new carrier who thinks it is not a problem to come later in the day. Help!

Mobile home complaint. Management not acting in good faith

Bryan Posthumous Michigan Representative Dear Mr. Posthumous, My name is Ronald P. Nordquist and I am a senior citizen living in a mobile home park in Plainfield Township but with a Rockford address. The park is owned by Aspire Communities, LLC. I used to enjoy living there but Aspire has begun to offer problems with their misinterpretations of their own guide lines which to the best of my knowledge I have never signed or agreed to for the following reasons which will be pointed out later in this letter. I also own a small business and Amway is my signature account. To build a basis for my arguments I want to make note of something that is rarely recognized, if at all, in my view by officials and others in authority positions concerning residents who live in mobile home parks managed and owned by other/same parties. Here it is: The management/owners of such a park manage payment of the land taxes of that park from the proceeds that the residents pay on a monthly basis. Our lease payments also go to payments of managers salaries and benefits that they fully enjoy every month. As proud land tax payers we have power in my view to make decisions about our property, the mobile home and any car ports or garages that are attached to the home as long as those outcomes are reasonable by most any standards in any upstanding community in the USA. I am not motivate to run outside at night fully naked howling at the moon which I have reason to believe is Aspires largest and delusional fear. The current business model of Aspire is to roll in new mobile homes into empty lots to sell and lease the property, creating new and happy land tax payers that Aspire can enjoy through the proceeds of the lease agreements they receive each month. Unfortunately my home is a 1982 model and this falls outside the parameters of their current business model. From my interactions with Aspire Communities I have reason to believe that they would rather have a new home placed in the lot of my home in a goal to make everything look neat and tidy by their standards. I suspect that this is the motivation of Aspire because they can then make higher profits through the sale of a new home. Aspire is purely motivate by profits and my belief is that is the basis for the troubles that I receive from them even them. On the outside my home still appears beautiful and is generally maintained to the best of my ability even though I am 68 and have significant health problems which prevent me from working outside in the heat and humidity od the long hot summer months. That condition is severe eczema. Spring time can also be a problem with me because I suffer from allergies and asthma. Black mold is a killer for me if I inhale the spores from this mold. In fact in February of 2021 I did inhale these spores in my home while I was treating myself with my nebulizer. That required a trip to the hospital, which cost me nearly a ridiculous 4000 dollars for treatment, was made upon the advice of the ambulance because my oxygen levels were hovering at 79/80. I was very, very stressed. Having said that, I want to wage some complaints against Aspire Communities treatment of me, a senior citizen and land tax payer. 1. The water in this area is high in calcium and drips from a faucet over a long period of time will leave a white stain from the calcium precipitates as the water dries and evaporates from skirting around the base of the home at the skirting. Management wanted me to replace the panels. I simply re-stained the skirt and it was perfectly refreshed and looking like new once again. yet management wanted to make me change the panels. This would require extensive expense and wasnt practical. Staining the skirt is both practical and economical and allows me time to get to the real issue, the dripping faucet. 2. My car port was also an issue with park management. I went to Plainfield Township to talk to them about placing lattice work on the frame of the structure. They said it was temporary and that I did not need a permit to do this. Game on. Other car ports have this so I wanted this too. It made sense to me. For privacy reasons. So I hired an individual to do this for me. We placed lattice about 18 inches running up four feet leaving a space of about 3 feet at the top offsetting the lattice. I like the decor. First Aspire wanted me to remove the structure even though others have it. Then we haggled over the setting of it. Aspire wanted it centered. I like it offset. We also haggled and argued over leaving the middle section open. They wanted it closed. I wanted it open offering some openness to allow for a car door to swing open and not bang into it damaging the car. My idea is to cover the open part with green hedges. We have even argued over this. A ridiculous and angering demands made by the monarchs at Aspire. I like the idea of a semi-open/closed car port to send the message to my neighbors that we want privacy yet we are still open to their friendships. To their credit they at Aspire are showing signs of softening their views. My view is In for a penny, in for a pound. Aspire is finally and at long last coming around to see and finally understand my point of view of décor. Both parties are winning as I see it because I am happier and this will increase the value of the home and the park as well, truly American ideals. 3. When I purchased the home there was a tree growing through the deck because the original owners built that deck around an oak tree which is now at least 4 feet wide and 35 feet tall, a massive organism with a huge canopy that sits about 7 and ½ feet from the back bedroom. This tree was breaking up the structure and frame of the deck which was also breaking up the latticed skirting of the deck. Management wanted me to repair the skirting. I saw the problem as the tree, which is really the elephant in the room. It is my view that management does not want to acknowledge the tree being the problem because it belongs to them and this complicated matters even more. I finally decided, after having received a quote for 11,000 for a new deck, to reduce the deck to a porch which removed the tree from the equation entirely. No more tree. No more broken deck frame or lattice. Problem solved. 4. A number of years ago, my research shows it was 12 years ago, a strong wind officially labeled a tornado 0 swept through the lower level of the park. I was living there then. My home is located in the lower level. This wind struck down nearly 18 large, and what appeared to be by any reasonable standard by eye ball examination, sturdy hardwood trees. A few homes were damaged but miraculously and fortunately not many. Also not one soul was hurt or killed by these trees. It was amazing and awesome to witness the power of nature at work. 5. Two years ago my neighbors tree collapsed on his house in a rainy and windy storm in spring. It was a sight to behold indeed. 6. Every year management has an arborist evaluate the conditions of the trees in the park yet they refuse to disclose that report to me despite the obvious evidence that something might be wrong with the soil/root structure and that structure might not be able to support trees with large canopies like the huge oak tree that looms over my back bedroom like a nasty dark cloud foretelling of potential problems yet to come. In the state of California they passed a law over 20 years ago requiring owners/managers to disclose park conditions to residents and anyone wishing to purchase a home in a mobile home park. Michigan has no such law. I am asking you to begin sponsoring legislation to require park owners and managers to disclose park conditions such as water, sewer and tree reports and any other factor that is considered a park condition. Lives are at stake with thousands and thousands of lives at risk here and we need a voice and protection. You can take up that mantle and be that voice to protect us from such malpractices extended by unscrupulous management companies like Aspire. Residents need to have full disclosure and I am sick and tired and fed up with Aspires deliberate unwillingness to provide information to me concerning the huge oak tree outside my back bedroom even though there is evidence of a looming danger that could happen any rainy and windy spring day in Michigan, and there are a lot of those here in West Michigan. I think you will agree to this observation. I am a land tax payer. I have rights and Aspire is not truly acting in good faith in my view. In my view thay are despots, tyrants and do not operate in good faith. They need to be required to act in good faith though legislation leading to the formation of laws that require them to do such because they have fully and completely demonstrated that they will not do so until required by law as they are in the state of California. Sincerely, Signature Ronald P. Nordquist 6937 Cherrywood St. NE Rockford, MI 49341 cell 616-729-**** PS A copy of this letter will be sent to the Grand Rapids Press. I can also place flyers on residents doors telling them of the problems I have had with this management. I can even for an association to hold management accountable if need be.

Whoever you have delivering to the Belding area ( I believe my delivery person lives in Sand Lakeor at least thats the address they put inside the paper to send a tip to at Christmas) needs to be told to up their game. This is the third missed delivery since I subscribed in late August. Last time I went out looking for a paper and the grocery and gas stations here said theirs had never been delivered either so they had none to sell?!!
