Transcript issues

This institute lost my transcripts and then charged me to receive a copy without providing them. They've closed and are now refusing to take responsibility.

Financial Aide Department

We have had the worst time with financial aid in losing documents either via email or in person. My daughter had an issue with them sending her account to collections without ever notifying her that she had an outstanding balance. When we called to inquire, financial aide sent her an excel spreadsheet instead of a bill. Upon further investigation we found that they had incorrectly applied payments from parent plus loans, student loans and ART grants. The financial aide department had credited funds then reversed them, only to credit and reverse again several times which ultimately led to them saying they refunded stipends in which we never got. There was an overage of approximately of 9k in payments in which 6500.00 they said we still owed the school. It was only when we threatened legal action that they took us serious. Oh and by the way they refused to give us Corporate accounting contact information so we could talk to them directly. We forwarded the collections agency all our proof of documentation showing we had overpaid and that The Art Institute had indeed not credited all sources properly which led to an investigation on our behalf. We are still currently working with collections to get my daughters account current and get all monies owed to us back.

Stay Away!

Worthless piece of paper that cost a LOT of money. No marketable skills taught.

*** NO

This school is an absolute scam. There is a reason that they are being sued, and that they've had to shut down some of their schools.

How the online division screwed up my gpa

I was attending the art institute of Jacksonville FL and completed 3years there with a 3.7 presidential gpa. As the school was shutting down they suggested I went to the online division. I enrolled they received my transcripts and they still messed up my schedule putting me in classes I’ve already completed. On top of them trying to fix that, which they never did, the classes I was in the teachers claimed they never received the work when I know I turned it in and when I asked for help I never received it. They messed up my classes and never turned in any work and made my gpa go from 3.7 down around 0.7. I was so upset cause they weren’t doing anything nor fixing anything, I just walked away instead of yelling and cussing. So now I’m back trying to see if y’all will correct what was done to me and what was wrong and it seems like I might be too late. All I’m asking is for the time I was enrolled at the online division of Pittsburg to be erased off of my record and transcripts and to give me back the gpa I had when I was at the art institute of Jacksonville FL.

Stolen refund, and existing loans.

I am a former student with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh- Online Division. I am currently a student at the Academy of Art University. I was to receive a financial aid refund from my current school of $4,599. I did not receive it. I called my financial aid representative at the school, and he told me that it was taken to cover existing loans from AI. So I called my loan servicer for AI and find out that my loans have NOT been cancelled as they were supposed to be, and they have NOT received any payment of $4,599. So where the *** did my money go?
