Complaint

I purchased a unit on Locker Fox for $30. I had 48 hours to clean out the unit. Within the 48 hours I spoke to Jaleesa one of the property managers and she gave me extra days to clean out the unit because I was having a hard time getting someone to help move. I then went into the office to rent the unit instead of removing the items. Jaleesa mentioned a promotion that I can get which was the first month rent free Upon starting the process of starting a contract. Jaleesa realized she didnt see the promotion that she had explained to me. So the unit would be more. Which I wasnt prepared for cause I thought I wouldnt have to pay as much. Because of her mistake Jaleesa said she can give me some more time but if I want it and plan to keep it I would have to bring $100 in cash which is the cleaning fee (holding fee). I had a friend take the $100 up to the office and he asked what do I need in order to keep the unit. They told him that they would look out and see what they can do and they will contact me. I then receive a phone call from Amanda who left me a voicemail stating that she too has some promotions since we had went into the month of August we can do august or September free with a free lock. I called because I was at work and the young lady who answered the phone told me that she saw the note that Amanda had left. I explained I was at work August, Friday 4th and so I would try and come in next week. On August 7th around 3 I walked into the office located 1830 Needmore again and Jaleesa was there I then told her and played the voicemail Amanda had left and she told me I needed to come back since Amanda had left me that message she has nothing to do with it So come back tomorrow Amanda will be in. I called Tuesday August 8th and I was talking to a person who said they was Amanda ( I say who say they where her because upon speaking to Amanda face to face August 12Th she said it wasnt her. But on August 8th I was told that I couldnt get the promotion cause Im not considered a new customer since I purchased the unit thru Locker fox. So I asked what do I do now. What can I do if I want to still keep the unit. But because I have been getting the run around and mix information I need time to come up with more money. She said since it was technically supposed to be out 9 days from the date I purchased it and we have had some mix up that she will allow me 72 hours which would take me to the weekend. I thanked her and I let her know I will definitely have my mind made up if imma leave it in which I really wanted too or someone will loan me the money. 72 hours from Tuesday August 8th was Friday. I left work early and I went back to the office which Jaleesa was there and she stated since I had been dealing with Amanda to come back she will leave her a note that I did come up. Then she said no wait Amanda said she is forfeiting your deposit of $100 dollars and she dont wanna deal with me. I then asked why. I told her I been coming up here respectfully and accordingly. I also asked about my stuff and Jaleesa explained that I cant get my stuff nor my money back. I asked why she said thts what u have to ask Amanda she will be here tomorrow I then go in Saturday August 12th and Amanda told me to leave that I am trespassing and I am band from all Storages of America. I asked why and she said cause I was to clean out the unit. I said but her and Jaleesa been giving me thee run around giving me multiple information and then taking it back. So technically that wasnt my fault. Just let me get my stuff or let me get my money back. That is not right. She then calls the police on me because I played back the voicemail she left me. I was upset but I had my 18 month old in my arms. So I also called the police. And waited for the police to come which because Amanda didnt give the full story they said I can call corporate or take it to court. I feel like it was wrong and I am asking for the items I purchased or money back. Thank You I have documents and voicemail that I am willing to send in upon further request.

Stolen property

I went to access my Unit and it had a new lock . None of my stuff was inside. Not good security cameras and the gate is in a permanent open position. I lost appliances , sports memorabilia and rims and tires. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and they are expensive.

Lack of necessary information

I just rented a new unit yesterday over the phone. Seemed like it was going well. Nice guy, etc. Now my sister is there with the items to be stored. They utterly failed to give us the access code to the door behind which is our unit. She now has to take it all back with her and pays late and another days' truck fees.

SCAMMERS

They say 1st month free lol. I still had to pay for the half month and now my lease is due on the 1st and I told them I will be out by the 4th and they say they dont pro rate. So now Im screwed out of a $125. Steer clear of this place!!

Locked inside

n Set aThe night I tried contacting someone I was at my unit and realized I had 10 minutes before the facility closed their gate . By the time I locked up my unit and got to the exit , it was 10:04pm. I put my access code in and 'denied late exit " is what it said ...so I called the number on the keypad , the number on my contract and the call center with no luck of talking to anyone. The only other option I had was call the police and this was not an emergency so I didn't wanna do that. I figured someone would come along and see I was trapped inside. I looked online and nothing that would help. I did see that on the SROA.com page it states that they have a 15 minute grace period on all the gates that is just for people in my situation . This was not the case at the facility I'm trapped in so needless to say, I was stuck from 10:04pm until 6:00am when I finally tried my code at 6:01 and it opened up. My issue is, what if it were a real emergency? What if I had no phone or it was dead? What if someone was locked in here with me for 8 hours trying to kill me? All those things are possible so I would think they would have some kind of emergency exit plan or at least someone I could reach 24/7 in case of an emergency.. luckily my kids were at my mother's this night and didn't have school the next morning or even worse, they could have been with me and stuck in there for 8 hours. Every other storage company has an exit gate that is motion activated and works all the time for an exit. Maybe not to enter but at least u would not be trapped as I was. Is there anyone that disagrees with this?

This horrible facility increases the rate monthly without notice.

I was quoted $68 monthly with one month free and was then billed $82 monthly. As trying to reach someone in corporate , I was told they would return my call. After calling 5 times I still have not received a call back.

Need gate code

I was given the wrong gate code,I've been trying to get into my storage unit for awhile.I need help asap

Security, no access to unit at times

I pay for a secure unit. The gate has been open for a good 3 months. Also this winter 2 or 3 times I haven't been able to get into my unit due to snow pushed up to the door or 2 times our road in the unit just being plowed shut.

Terrible Customer Service

I have had this storage unit since 8/22, never had issues until it was time to move out!! Called on 3/24/33 and spoke with a gentleman that advised I could not remove my items from the storage until after I spoke with management and they provided me with a 10 day notice to vacate. TODAY IS 4/19/23... my first day of speaking with someone Johnita (I believe) she did provide the correct info and apologized for the misinformation. It appears to have been phone tag on both parts but nothing was resolved. I still have storage and late fees that could have been avoided had I been told the 10 day notice could be over the phone. My items would have been removed the same day.. they are hard to reach and barely return calls .. WILL USE UHAUL STORAGE AS I ALWAYS HAVE N THE FUTURE u She did not remove any late charged caused by th

Stolen property from my unit

Storage Rentals of America 15031 Strader Rd East Liverpool, Ohio 43920 Shoes, comforters, and jogging suits were stolen outta my storage unit. For months Ive been trying to get compensation from insurance company that I paid for thru storage rental and have been given the run around. Property Manager is horrible in East Liver Pool. Theyre a scam and I wouldnt advise anyone to do business with them if you want to keep your items safe and secure.

Bad customer service in refund policy

Paid my bill as I always do on line. But this time I was charged for 3onths instead of 1.On April 3,2023 I contacted them told them what happened.they had a district manager talk to me she typed up a refund sent it in to the company told 3 3-5 days before it gets out back in my bank.well I ask why.it took you 2.5seconds to take it out why not put in back on the same way. Well here we are on April 16,2023 and still no refund. I've checked with my bank every day no money. The way I see it tell your HR dept to get off there lazy butts and do there job I run my business without a computer and a HR department been doing this for over 50 yrs. IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.

No Gate access

Ever since i started renting 2 units in Jan & Mar, i have had NOTHING but headaches. I rented a uhaul on Saturday, went to access gate and no luck, AGAIN! This is sooooo damn frustrating. I called, my daughter called so many #'s yesterday and COULD NOT get ahold of anyone. And yes i called the emergency # that was given to me at time of renting the units. If i have to pay for another day of truck rental, I will NOT be happy. Please! Someone contact me asap. This is horrible customer service and I'm about ready to go elsewhere.

Cannot access gate

Pswrd/ code is not working to open the gate. So furious right now cuz this is not the first time. I've called several #'s and even the emergency # and cannot get a call back. Maybe someone will see this review and call me

Large price increase. rude customer service. poor quality service

large price increase several times. cannot be trusted with price changes was told i cant park a moving truck on the property to load my items even if i need to leave in a vehicle to go pee..as they do not have bathrooms even in their office for customers...i have a huge unit and cannot empty it into a truck wothout bathroom breaks as it will take a day or two at least to load everything. i caled to arrange a time to start and they did not want to hear it, did not want to hear why medical issues or not, always very abrupt with me...i spoke with others whom rent there whose rent has never increased at all. i feel i was targeted instantly woth a price raise. i gave my insirance info and was still charged their insirance. which they corrected but took a lot of extra effort on my part and my insirance companys part doing extra work to wnsure i was not overcharged at the storage unit. i believe it is 24 hours but sometimes the lights are off at night in the secure fenced in area which makes it feel very unsafe. for thirdshifters whom are up late hours through the night/ day it is the only time they have to stop in. there are no garbage cans and people toss their trash on the ground. my unit door seal leaks so things inside the door get wet from snow or rain. i used to enjoy going to my unit and rotating things in the house and back to the storage unit. seasonally appropriate items go back in but this year since sroa took over i dread even going. it is as if they are defensive immediately to everyone and not welcoming.

Price increase

My rate was increased from $122 in June of last year to $166 in December with a tack on fee of $14 for insurance. I asked for the reason and the office person said it was above her pay grade. I've lodged a complaint with the attorney General of Michigan for price gouging, You should too. Raising prices that quickly just because you can is price gouging full stop.

I have had items damaged by property manager. Guy with glasses and fat lady, I don't know there names, so if you go herer lookout they are rudecandcstole itemscas well as evicted me for complaining about mice, mice crap and no dolly to use fat lady says to bad I will evict you if you want. Total B***h...The guy know known as Shawn has lied and said I was drunk and disruptive when I haven't drank in 10 years. I want to pursue criminal charges for damage of property. Love to talk to you about the side money property manager rents units under the table so they pocket the money. I talked to the guy who also has issues with these guys said he gets discount and pays cash to Shawn property manager? Isnt that illegal? That's motive why Shawn and crime partner now known as Jody want to get rid of me. I won't stay silent. Love to talk to someone in human resources or IG complaint, BBB will also be contacted. Call me 302 353-****. Eric Morrison also was contacted and waiting for him to review tomorrow. Thanks for your time, We the people
