Trying to warn other people not to use him
He is the worst contractor, lazy and unreliable. He will make you question your sanity, he will never show up when he promises, he will make your house a disaster. Unfinished work, overspray, falling cabinets. He is something.. Stay away by all means. If you already happen to be in themidst of it and have him money, just try to go along, he is not stable so you will need to be very patient and hope that he finishes at least some of the work started, if he tells you your job will take a week, double it and add 3 more weeks. He will spend days in your house just sitting around on the phone. He will have every excuse why job is not progressing or why he is a no show.. sick mother, broken car, court appearance, I don’t know how people give him good reviews, I think they are just scared of him.

Horrible job!
Please, please, please, do not hire Steve Rubiano. I was foolish and only looked on Angies List and his Facebook page. Photos can be so deceiving, and reviews can be made up. If you truly search, you will find horrible reviews, which unfortunately are 100% true. I hired Steve before Christmas, he was to begin after the New Year. Its months later, and my cabinets were never fully completed, and are chipping everywhere. Steve never showed up on the days he said he would or on time. He sprayed my appliances, counters, and new patio door. Then scratched them trying to remove the paint He left garbage in my garage and candy wrappers in my driveway. He had no respect at all for my home. He even broke our toilet seat! He would send his inexperienced workers and they had no idea what they were doing. Then he fired them and blamed them. He gave me sob stories about his sick mom and how he volunteered at a hospice center as excuses for not showing up. He is a pathological liar. Please do your homework. My cabinets are ruined. I would not want this to happen to anyone else.

I worked for Steve for a short time and embarrassed to admit it. I hope if your reading this do not hire him. He is a drunk, a liar and a thief. He will say he uses specialty lacquer from up north distributor but he really gets it from Ricardis like anyone could! He does terrible work because he will have his employees who are brand new do the work because he usually to drunk or high to actually get the work done. He will say he has been in business for 30 years... no his father WAS and he is now tarnishing his name. He owed me last paycheck for 3 weeks I finally had to go to his house and demand it. Which brings me to the next point if this man owes you money and you can not file a complaint sue him etc. because he constantly is moving to run from people contact me immediately! Lets not let him get away with what he does to people. The business is in his mothers name also which is terrible so people sue her not him technically. He is a terrible human being. Lets not let him get away with what he has done to everyone on this sight and more I can help you. Reply to this and I will put my email down we will make sure you get what yours and he gets what he deserves.

Do Not Use Steve!
Claimed he could get the job done in a week...would show up for 3 hours then leave...or tell me he was on his way multiple times throughout the day and then not show up. Barely did any work between 3 days he actually showed up, he was here for a total of 10 hours between the 3 days. Called me up screaming at me and it scared me. Then threatened my husband with violence. Would say something one minute, then immediately after claim he didn't say it. Stay away...do yourself a favor and find a reputable company. He entices you with low prices. Filing a complaint with the BBB to get our money back.

Please don’t use
This guy claimed to be 24/7 service and came in asking for a cheap price for my kitchen. He told me the job should take 3-4 days. So I agreed. First three days he called me and canceled the job because he was sick or a family member was sick. You can hear him fake coughing. Well the bottom line is this guy took 2 and a half weeks to finish the job. He would show up late and only work for an hour. My kitchen came out horrible but I don’t care I wanted him out. Please don’t call this guy same your money for someone worth it.

Stay away ! Shady shady shady . I was lucky to get my money back after many arguments . He’s lazy a liar and a scam artist . Has every excuse in the book why he can’t show up or late .to only spend less then a half hour in my house when he comes . destroyed my house and granite . Showed up wrecked one night to drop off my cabinet doors hick ups and all . He’s a mess please stay away everyone !

Took a few months to do a job that shoud take 6days. As per his contract. Now its sept and still going back and foth with him.job started In may. Supposed to return moneyfor bad job , gave back some but Still waiting for pay back. Nowblocking mycalls.will take to court. Wants a lot of money up front.

I worked for him, every job we did took at least a month to complete and he always had problems with customers. Not once has there not been some sort of altercation. I felt bad for the families that hired him. Knowing that I would be doing all the work alone with minimal experience and he would have me jumping around between 4 jobs that would never get finished, while he sits on his fat *** eating food all day. He fired me for no reason; I was very reliable. He most likely fired me because he owed me money. I asked him for months to pay me and he always had an excuse. Now he simply doesn’t answer. He’s the biggest *** psychopath I’ve ever met. Stay away from this *** at all costs

Steve Rubiano was hired to paint and replace an outdoor door. He didn’t complete the job : the home was only partially painted and door wasn’t replaced. Steve sent me photos of the completed job. I paid him. When returned to the home in the spring I found the home to be only partially painted, rotted wood not replaced and door had not been installed. He said on many occasions that he would finish Never came back

Hired for painting and gave every excuse to push off the job and the excuses were all terrible. I was one of the lucky ones to get my money back. I believe he may have some type of psychological issues that envolve meeting customers collecting money to see how many times he can contact them with lies. I waited for samples and they never showed up. He must have gotten confused with all of his lies at times because he changed his story which helped to uncover the scam. If you are considering using this painting company please reconsider after reading all of these reviews. It’s a shame when you invite someone into your home one of your biggest expenses and he can look you and your family in the eye knowing it’s all a scam to get your hard earned money for services he has no intention of completing.

this is a follow-up to a review i did a couple of months ago. i hired him to paint the interior of a home i purchased in october. he also told me he did many remodeling jobs and had experience in many areas. besides the painting, i was interested in changing a tile backsplash in my kitchen. he told me he'd done tiling and showed me pictures of work he had done so i had him to that in addition to the painting. he did hardly any painting. he left it to a young helper that was working with him at the time who was inexperienced. he removed all of the doors from rooms and closets. again, he had his helper put the doors back on and most of them don't close properly. he clearly had never installed the kind of glass tile that i had purchased but he told me he had done it before. he really botched that job and the tile was expensive. he dragged on the work for months. he would made appointments to come work and then didn't show up. this happened many times and he always had excuses. he took so long to do the work, i told him that i didn't want him to paint the guest bathroom or the laundry room. he was also supposed to install a new ceiling fan in my bedroom, bead board on my kitchen island, and laminate flooring in a walk in closet in my guest bedroom. he never did those things either. because of that, he was overpaid $500.00. after he saw my first review, he called me and during our conversation, he told me he would send me a check. to date, i have not received it. steve is, unfortunately, not a man of his word. i hired someone else to install the ceiling fan. when the old ceiling fan was removed, we could see that when steve or his helper painted that ceiling, they painted around the fan so that the old paint was left under the fan. sloppy work. i could never recommend him to anyone. i am looking into taking him to small claims court for the money he owes me.

Biggest Mistake using Steve Rubiano Painting
He painted our cabinets, did a *** job. Used cheap paint. Said he would fix them, never showed up. After 2 months he offered us a full refund. He never showed up. We filed with small claims court. Guess what...he didn't show up. We are out $800 with 3 months of aggravation because of this man. Do not trust him. Do not fall for his lies. I have about 80 pictures to show the work that he did. The mess that he left in my house. The stain he left in my driveway. He had an 18 yer old boy with him who had never done cabinet work. He left him alone many times after showing up late everyday. He left my house by 2pm with a mess left behind. I had cigarette butts in my backyard that my dog threw up. He used my rags, my garbage bags. He threw all of his garbage in my recycling container in my house. He left empty chemical containers in my backyard with uses face masks and rags. My window screen was damaged from the fan he used to ventilate the house. There is a permanent paint stain in the shape of the fan. I can go on and on. Please do not use this many for any type of work.

Steve rubiano, unreliable and shoddy work
i purchased a new house last october and i hire steve to paint the whole house and inside of the garage. i would not recommend him to anyone. he left all of the painting to a young man working for him at that time. he spent most of his time on the phone. the job is sloppy. he took all of the doors and doorstops off. never put the doorstops back and half of the doors were put on incorrectly. again, he left the work to his helper. he dragged out the work for months till i finally told him i didn't want my guest bath, laundry room and garage painted. he said he knew how to my glass tile backsplash. he did a terrible job on the tile and he never to came back to fix a couple of places that needed to be fixed. he dragged that work out for months. he started last october in the first week. he's still not finished. he did not finish the work that he was paid to do. he has more excuses than i've ever heard in my life. he owes me more than $500 for work he never completed. i would never recommend him to anyone. i could go on and on with comments but these are the major issues.

Horrible work and sexual harassment
We hired Steve to paint the back room and the lower floor of our house. He took our check and cashed it, it took a month before he showed up to paint our house. He painted part of one wall and then left. After many calls which he never returned he showed up two weeks later. while I was working my wife stayed home while he was painting the house, he made many lewd sexual remarks to my wife. then he proceeded to strip down to his underwear and walk around carrying a paint roller. My wife had to call my brother to throw him out of our house, the job was never done and we had to call somebody else to do it. I'm in the process of getting a lawyer to sue him for his shoddy work and I have called the police for his behavior and sexual harassment of my wife. Do not use this guy. Contact me if you see this guy working, he preys on women and harrasses them. He also ripped off a hurricane sandy victim.
