Terrible food

My husband and I ate at steak and shake in Mattoon, we ordered 2 bowls of chili, 1double cheeseburgers and 2 chocolate shakes, the chili use to be thick with plenty of beans and meat, now its runny with very few beans and meat, there shakes are not hand dip as they say and the taste and quality is gone. We left to full bowls of chili and 1/2 sandwich along with 1/2 of the shakes, we wont be back, they have truly cheapen their food. Goodbye to the real steak and shake.

Elizabethtown ky steak &shake

Went there on sunday with the family. I ordered 4 meals. After paying for food we went to grab our drinks. The drink machine was spewing syrup all over the place when you tried to get drinks. It soaked me. Arms and shirt were all sticky i had to go in the bathroom and clean up. I grabbed a worker and told her it had just soaked me an wasnt working. She said "yeah its been down all day " so i then asked why there wasnt a sign up if they already knew to avoid this happening and she just shrugged her shoulders. I then asked for a manager which took about 10 mins for him to even come out an once he did i told him i was not happy as i had things to do after i left there and my shirt was now covered in syrup and ask if he knew it was down why wasnt there a sign and why were they not telling people when they came in who are spending money at the kiosk on drinks they cant get. He just said im sorry in a very not sincere way and walked away quickly. He never once offered a refund on the 4 drinks i paid for despite them only having unsweetened tea available. Very unhappy with the customer service and how they handled things.

Bad experience

Went to the establishment in Richmond KY on Sunday 07/30/2023. Waited for food, was cold when it arrived. Told manager and they stuck their finger in my food and told me it did not feel cold to them. After that I just asked for my money back and the entire kitchen staff thought it was funny. This has got to be the worst Steak and Shake I have ever been in. It was also kind of grungy feeling inside. Not dirty dirty but not clean either. Sat at a table that I had to move from because the air conditioner was leaking on it. It was overall the worst experience that I have ever had dining out. I believe that this establishment should be checked.

I have a missing check that no one seems to know where it is at the Steak n shake in Orlando West Colonial and Hiawassee

Very poor experience matter of fact the worst customer service ive ever dealt with Manager's have no respect for customers very unprofessional

I came in this establishment while on vacation. While waiting for my food the fry cook dropped the spatula on the floor, didnt pick it up and was on the phone talking to someone. The person I was with was also waiting for her food and the fry cook had the food on a spatula and the other prep cook took it off the spatula with her hands. This is unsanitary and unprofessional. This was my first time in a steak and shake and I will not return to another. Receipt 102008 1:22pm on 7.28.22 at store 354

I became sick after drinking a milkshake with spoil milk which the manager confirmed that i was the second customer to complain of the spoiled milk being used

I ordered a chicken strip combo with a butterfingers milkshake through the drive through. I took a slip of the milkshake and noticed a bitterness. I thought because i was eating the tenders with the sauce right before that may have caused the taste. I waited a few minutes and tried it again. I immediately started throwing up. I went back to the store and was told my experience and the manager confirmed that i was the second customer who experience symptoms associated with the shakes being made with spiked milk. I was given a refund and went home. I begin having diarrhea and throwing up all night until the next day and had to take off from work and visit my provider to check for food poisoning. This is unacceptable and dangerous. I will be expecting a call from upper management to explain how this happened and how they will ensure it doesnt happen to anyone else.

We bought Chilli (large) cheese fries, the bowl of Chilli barley covered the top of the fries. We were told they only allow 4 ounces if Chilli in the cup, there was no 4 ounces in that cup.

We bought a large Chilli cheese fries. What was in the large bowl was not even two ounces of Chilli, and we payed for a large. When I called to complain, the individual kept interrupting me, saying they were only allowed to put 4 ounces in the cup. I was trying to tell her there was less than two ounces in the cup. She hung up on me, I can see why steak and shake is closing their stores. No customer wants to pay for a large, and receive 2 ounces, we will never return to that store. We are one set if customers, but obviously, we are not the only ones realizing that we are being ripped off.

I’d like a refund

Two nights ago I placed an online order at 9:30 at night, I live a block away from Steak n Shake so by the time I ordered it and got there to pick it up it was 940 The lobby doesnt close until 10 oclock. I was told I couldnt have my food and to go online and figure out how to get my refund and then the doors were locked with me still standing there. I had no food at home so I didnt get to eat that night. I dont own a car and there is nothing else within walking distance. It was only a $10 order but the whole situation just really got to me. I didnt deserve to be treated like that.

We were at the Steak and Shake, Buford, Ga. Location around 2:00 The hamburger came out cold. Worse yet, the ladies' bathroom stunk bad! It smelled like dryad up *** The floor in the restaurant was dirty and sticky. The booth area dividers had gummy fingerprints, nasty.

I have a $30 credit that I cannot use

I have moved to an area where there are no steak n Shake franchises. I have a $30 credit and I would like to get my money back.

Refund and complaint

We tried to get a refund, and the manager started crying and saying that corporate will not let him refund and would have to cook our dinner over. We never got our dinner! It was so filthy and disgusting.. no ice, counters were filthy of grease and spilled food. The floors were disgusting. The bathrooms were filthy, and no toilet paper or paper towels. We saw old food sitting on the counter in the kitchen with flies on it!

Complaint against customer service

I ordered my food on the drive through. When I got home to eat my burger, I discovered someone had taken a bit out of it. They keep disconnecting my calls. Then I tried calling the customer service but the number said it was no longer in service (+1-87*-***-****). Im am completely disgusted, I almost put that food in my mouth. And they didnt give me a receipt. I can pull the purchase up from my bank statement if necessary

Poor you food quality

I purchase a triple cheeseburger and a double cheeseburger I asked for everything on the meat and I put on. There was some onions, pickles, and a dab of ketchup and a dab muster and the double cheeseburger was burnt on the edges and it look like the meat was preheated. Im in going to take a shake since I was a little kid and when I order a triple cheeseburger, it was lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions on there for $25 for this order I believe I should be getting what I asked for every day home to meat Im a very unsatisfied customer and most likely I will not be getting out at this location. Another chance not for $25.

Wrong orders

I order 2 number #7 Double cheese burger with onion ketchup and pickles. Both orders was without pickles. Drove back to the drive thru explain the issue he insisted of giving us pickles. We are daily regular customers.

Need my promised reward that they refused to give me

They havent even shown the slightest attempt to help me they were rude as could be to me and they charged me $3.50 for a SMALL cup of ICE not even a legit drink when I went into Steak n Shake in hopes to retrieve my free shake I was promised if I signed up for their app (which was a painstakingly difficult and time consuming task) and they refused to give me anything.

I ordered food for the steak and shake on Coldwater Road in Fort Wayne through the app, and it was cancelled out of the blue, I have been trying to contact the restaurant, and it keeps saying user busy, and I am yet to receive a refund. I have sent a bunch of emails through their support, but I am yet to hear back from them. A similar thing happened when I did a mobile pickup, the store was not opened on Washington Street in Indianapolis, yet they took my money without refund I contacted them and all they gave me was a free milkshake coupon that expired in a month. So disappointed in their customer service.
