This company's customer service

this is the worst company that i have ever dealt with i am on week 3 with an unfinished simple bathtub and shower combo do not use this company

Bad business practices and non existent customer service

They're happy to get you setup and then take your down payment, but will ghost you afterwards and if you get pissy and want to cancel before they've started any work or even done measurements, they quote the 3 day cancelation policy in their contract... this is after you not being able to get any results or call back for weeks. What a scam! Let us help you... until we've charged your account, then they don't call, give you availably so limited that you have to take off work to meet it. Even after it was communicated at the initial visit that you aren't home during the week and their sales person tells you they will work with you. Don't believe a word out of their mouths. They'll mislead you and keep your money if you aren't happy about it.void

6 windows installed and leaked

They should not be in the window business. I have had an on-going problem since the installation in Sept. 2017. Windows leaked from day 1 and ruined my wood floors. They had to come out and re-install 6 windows (different sub contractor) and said they would do something about the floors which they never have. I asked them when they installed the windows the first time about flashing and was told not necessary. They did nothing to accommodate going from single pane to double pane which is why they re-installed. Long story is they have been out (never the same sub contractor) every year and recently when siding was power washed and windows were taped up, water spilled over the window sill like a water fall. I did not have this issue in the previous power washings before the window replacement and neither did any of the other buildings that were also power washed. Now carpet upstairs is ruined too. A third party came out and determined the windows have nothing between where they cut to install windows and windows. You can see the inside sheetrock wall when you pull the decorative wood trim off. Needless to say, this is not energy efficient or up to code standards. And no flashing which I have asked every time they came out. They recently put some *** flashing on top of the window but nothing on sides and bottom. You can literally see light through the sides. The IRC establishes minimum requirements for flashing products to ensure that they prevent water from seeping into walls and buildings. The water leaking in has also damaged my walls. They should have corrected this when they pulled every window out during the second total installation. Now this is a huge project to correct this matter and they have stopped responding to me. I posted a negative review on their website which was promptly removed so they can keep their 4.9 rating. No one has contacted me.do

13 replacement windows ordered and $15,600 paid in 2020 and job still not completed.

Master bedroom window sash warped and will not close. Statewide reps have confirmed a new sash is needed on 3 separate visits but we are still waiting. The first confirmation was over a year ago.

Very Disappointed - Worst Experience E.V.E.R.!!

Original review Sep 30, 2022
I am so disappointed! As you all are aware, Statewide Remodeling is NOT cheap! We have never had a professional remodel before and did not want to chance anything bad happening or stress, so after doing alot of homework, we chose to go with Statewide. The Sales people were great - until after we signed the contract and then found out that the glass was a separate issue that Statewide doesn't do. They gave us a discount and assisted with the 3rd party glass company. We weren't happy about it, but figured it wasn't on purpose. We still had high hopes and was excited we pulled the trigger. Near the end of June, 2022, we were called and asked if someone could be at the house the next day so that the crew could start. It was last minute, but we were happy to work it out and get things started. During the construction phase, we would be notified that that the crew would be there at 8:00 (we work outside the home, so I called my dad to go to the house). The crew hardly ever showed up until after 10:00. They made a complete mess out of my bathroom every single day, sawing materials in the master bathroom with the bedroom door wide open and window closed, setting my smoke detectors off two different times - we had to open windows and doors to get the smoke out of our home twice. I returned home in the middle of the week to find a thick layer of dust ALL OVER MY ENTIRE BEDROOM! Every piece of furniture (i.e., the couches, dressers, T.V., headboard, mirrors, etc.) and BED LINENS were covered in dust - I could leave a handprint on my pillows! Never-the-less, we had to sleep in the guest room the next couple of nights. Statewide was super apologetic and said that a cleaning crew was going to be assigned to clean. However, they sent the crew on the 4th of July (we had to cancel our plans and stay home) to clean up for about 15 minutes and cover everything up with plastic. During construction, we noticed stuff happening that we did not agree on and asked about the plans. We were told that Satewide drew up the plans they were following although we never saw any! Statewide told us that it is not customary for them to show the plans to the clients - ??? We thought that was absolutely crazy, so we called our Salesperson, Melissa. Melissa also seemed floored that was relayed and confirmed that she never saw the 'plans' either! She did speak to the Production Manager, however, and attempted to get things straightened out. The crew came back the following day to continue the work, laying their tools all over my uncovered brand new $6,000 tub! We confirmed later that they did indeed mark/scratch the tub up and Statewide had to send someone to fix my brand new $6,000 tub! Once the plastic was removed after a few more days of construction, I had to spend 2 days cleaning the dust out of and off of every nook and cranny in my bedroom! Then, we had the 'walk through' with the Project Mgr, who told me that it won't be 'perfect' - ??? But, there were several issues! He, himself, agreed with the issues I point out, while still insisting we sign the Completion form! I did NOT want to sign the form until the work was done, but he ended up talking my husband into signing it, promising Work Orders would be completed for the work needing to be done. As a result, we also had to cancel our glass installation from the 3rd party. Then, round 2 of construction (with the same crew) happened ... almost another week and did not address all of the issues that Work Orders apparently were written up for. Then, the Managers show up to my house to inspect the issues. Upon their inspection, they confirmed that there was still a large number of issues and marked approximately 10 areas that were poorly done as well as the bathtub faucet that was not functioning properly (but was before the 2nd round of construction), apologized intensely and said that the material was going to be ordered and they would get another crew out there as soon as possible to finish. Over 2 weeks later after not hearing any updates, I contacted Statewide who said that the plumbing had arrived and that they were waiting on tile. As soon as that came in, they would call to schedule. Another 2 weeks later, they texted me saying that the tile was in and that they would schedule as soon as the plumbing arrived. I texted back, 'Which is it? Two weeks ago, I was told the opposite. So, what are we really waiting on?'. I received a text almost immediately back stating that they now had all of the material and were going to get back to us to schedule. The following week, I get a call on my way to work asking if they could go to the house that morning! Yes - the scheduling requires alot of attention here! While we still are not thrilled with the final outcome and and were left needing the paint the ceiling (they got the tile stuff all over) and walls (also tile stuff all over and a few areas where the wall had to be patched/fixed that was messed up during installation of tile), we are relieved that we can finally stop interacting with Statewide! I have shed tears on at least 3 different occasions during the course of 3 months it took for Statewide to half-ass our bathroom remodel. We finally got the glass installed and, for the first time since June 20th, was able to take a shower in our master bath on September 22nd! After this nightmare, the Customer Service department (another super nice lady) called ... the best they can offer us for the painful experience we suffered is $900 (this total includes reimbursement of the paint if I can find the receipts). We could not be more disappointed with the entire ordeal and feel like we just got slapped in the face again with such a *** offer to compensate us. We truly thought if we paid the big bucks and went with a big company, that all would be the best possible. It absolutely was not! I honestly believe we would have been happier letting our handyman do it (it looks like we did anyway)!

To prevent other people from doing business with Statewide Remodeling and save them the trouble I had.

Updated by user Jul 12, 2022
Statewide Remodeling finally send the check. Note the money was NOT my idea, it was theirs, BUT a good business practice would be to do what you said you were going to do. I appreciate the check from Statewide, but I should not have had to force their hand on something...

Original review May 20, 2022
They said they would send a check for the $1,000 they promised a month ago. They said the "check would soon be in the mail". As of today's mail, it has not arrived. So, I guess will call again, Statewide has not done ANY follow-up, so, I guess we will call them, again, on Monday to listen to yet another excuse of why what they said they would do did not get done. It's like a broken record. BTW, I read one of their advertisements stating that the price for a bathroom remodel is about $120 to $275 per square foot. Statewide remodeled my shower and bathtub. Shower was completely redone, and we had a Kolner walk-in tub installed. The other part of the bathroom wasn't touched by Statewide, except to clean it up after the work. The work they did was on a 12 foot by 8 foot portion of the bathroom. This works out to be about $510 per square foot. If you take into account that Statewide worked on my bathroom 18 actual days, that works out to be $2,722 per day. If you take out the 6 days they had to come back and fix installations directed by Statewide management, drives the cost to $4,083 per day to get the job correct. DAMN, what a boon-dogle! My advice. Don't do business with Statewide Remodeling.

Inaction by Statewide Remodeling

After my last writeup, the folks at Statewide all of a sudden remembered they had done nothing about the minor $1,000 rebate they were going to allow for the over 6 months they took to get my shower and walk-in tub project correct (see my previous complaint). They assured us "the check will be in the mail" and as of the mail run today, no check and no follow-up by Statewide. We will call them back, again, to hear what excuse they will have next week when they have had a weeks time to think up new excuses. BTW. I read some of their advertisement materials for bathrooms. They stated an approximate price of $120 to $275 per square foot. I realize that a walk-in tub cost some change, say $10,000. The part of my bathroom that was remodeled is 12 feet by 8 feet (a shower and a walk-in tub. My bathroom was over $400 per square foot. They worked on it a grand total of 18 days (to be generous) which, less the bathtub, works out to be $2,167 per day. With the bathtub it is $2,722 per day. Of those 18 days, approximately 6 of those days the subcontractors had to come back and fix things the contractor (Statewide) had screwed up. So, it really cost me $4083 per day that actually had constructive work done. What a DAMN boon-doggle! So, when the sales rep comes by, know that the $120 to $275 per square feet is just to get their foot in the door. Don't do business with these people, unless you have an ironclad contract (the one's they have protect them and commit you), with legal recourse. Just so everyone knows, the subcontractors work was excellent. It is the Statewide management that is tons less than marginally effective.

To let everyone know what a sorry business Statewide as it relates to customer interface.

It has not been a good experience. We were told at the gitgo that work would not start until all the parts needed was assembled on their end. Within a month, we were informed that they would start on the 1st of September 2021. We moved out of our master bath the next day to get ready for their arrival. The shower guy and the contractor assigned by Statewide showed up two days after the day they said they would arrive. I saw the shower guy (who we liked his work) twice in the next week. Essentially, statewide work about 2 to 3 days a week with only one subcontractor showing at a time. It took about 16 days to complete out bathroom of actual work to complete the bathroom. The work was a new shower with new tile, a rework of the pluming around the shower, a walk in tub, a ceiling fan installed where an overhead lamp was installed, and one day of pulling wires to the circuit box for the fan and the tub. Statewide managed to CRAM those 16 days into four calendar months (2 Sep to one week past Christmas 2021) and there is still some issues with the shower. Due to Statewide management not telling the subcontractors what the finished product was to look, the shower and the tub had to be reworked several times. The shower was not finished as we had wanted and so stated in the contract. The tile floor in the shower was missing some parts, but I did not want them to tear up the floor to incorporate the design we had agreed on after it was already down and dry. The pony wall (as directed by the contractor to the subcontractors) was too short to fit the walk in tub. The tile surrounding the shower, was not installed as high as we had agreed to, and the initial placement of the walk in tub was not were we specified it was to go. They tried to refund me $1800 to leave it where it was. When that didn't work they tried to bluff me with stories that they would have to take a jack hammer to my concrete floor to dig out a path way for the drain line for the tub. This was utter BS. Two or three weeks later, Statewide moved the tub, extended the drain line with hose and clamps, without having to jack hammer anything. We are still not done. The contractor has not contacted us since before Christmas. Yesterday, Statewide finally sent us paperwork to finish paying the balance on the work they have done, which I intend to honor my side of the contract, as soon as they take care of theirs. There is a shower holder in the shower that came loose within a week of us starting to use the shower after four months and some wall patches they need to finish. I could do this stuff myself, but it is not mine to do. Let me be clear, the subcontractors did beautiful work and I am very satisfied with their work. However, I have made it my mission to turn at least 10 potential customers away from Statewide. I have already convinced 3 potential customers not to use Statewide. I just need 7 more. On second thought, I think Ill shoot for 20 people. That wont kill Statewide, but a $1,000,000 of business is not a small sum. An update. 15 May 2022. There was an issue with our contract where Statewide Tony (our second Tony) said he would get the contract modified and take off a $1,000 off the original contract for the time it took for Statewide to finish the job. We were sent the paperwork by email, of which we digitally signed and returned to Statewide. As of today, we have seen NO conformation that the $1,000 was approved by the bean counters at Statewide. It is unbelievable that you folks can run a big operation like Statewide and stay in business. The individuals we have met (not the folks that do the actual work) are absolutely incompetent. They have NO follow-up on issues raised by the customers, they DONT talk to the customers and keep them in the loop regarding when work was going to occur, they did not seem concerned that we were without our bathroom for four months, and I didnt like it when they outright LIED to me regarding the tub drain and the concrete floor.

Completion of windows not done

On April 29, 2021 I signed a contract to have downstairs windows installed. I have two more windows to be completed. I have called Christina who always tell me she will call me and no return calls. I then begin to call Patrick who I signed contract with and have no results. I have purchased 13 windows and I am not happy. It is now December 16, 2021. Theres no way it should take nine months on completion of 13 windows. I should also receive a reduction in price for waiting this long.

POOR WORKMANSHIP, CHEAP MATERIAL, JJOB NOT DONE AS PROMISED.

Poor window install , no grab bar, towel bar does not match shower fixtures. I contracted for a seat to be installed and when they did the tear out I was told that they could not install a seat. This is a major issue and one of the reason for the remodel. That material is cheap and looks like something I can get at K-Mart. I have been trying to get this mess torn out but nobody returns my e-mails or text.

LIES, LIES and more LIES!

DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY! they tried pulling the bait and switch tactic on us and all I can say is this company came to the wrong house. my dad is an attorney working on a lawsuit against this company with several other unsatisfied consumers who were abused during this process. This company is fraudulent and we all need to come together to put an end to this.
