Not worth money
I bought a queen size gel Tempur-Pedic got a 25-year warranty now it's sagging very bad trying to replace it paid over $1,000 for my mattress what the box spring then I find out the business closed down in Georgia so now I don't know what to do about getting me a new mattress it sucks and I'm pissed off but I called the number it's just disconnected and then I call 800 number and then guy answered trying to sell me stuff told why calling he ask me for my number address I told him reason why I'm calling then he transfer me to a different number and it hung up on me I tried calling back they block my phone number so call back with my other phone and ask him why he's blocking my number and why gave me a false number and then he give me another number then call the people to see about replace my mattress and that number didn't work either so now it's hopeless im suck with this grap i dont understand why have a warranty for that long if they can't guarantee you a mattress for all the money spent makes no sense so now I got to buy a new mattress all over again *** me off

Sagged mattress within one year of full use
I Purchased a Full sized mattress for my adult son in our Florida Home. We are snowbirds, therefore the mattress was only used for a month at a time the first 5 years before my husband and I retired. It took a couple of years on a part time basis of sleeping, that we discovered it was a poor purchase. The sidewalls are collapsed, we turn it on our foundation for equal use without resolution. I'm sure its past its Warranty period. Hope to warn others with this posting. Not surprised to see the company was bought out. Will be looking with consumer reports in hand prior to buying another. Originally purchased in 2011.

Buy your mattress at FARMERS FURNITURE THEY STAND BEHING THEIR PRODUCTS
I BOUGHT A SPEARS MATTRESS AND BOX SPRING AT FARMERS FURNITURE 6 YEARS AGO. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IT SAGGED WITH A HUGE HUMP IN THE MIDDLE. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE WARRANTY, BUT WHEN I WAS GOING TO BUY A NEW ONE I ASKED ABOUT IT AT FARMERS FURNITURE IN ENTERPRISE ,ALABAMA THEY SAID IT HAD A NON PRORATED WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD COME LOOK AT IT. THEY SENT THEIR MAN OUT TO THE HOUSE. HE TOOK ONE LOOK AT IT AND SAID WE WILL GET YOU A NEW MATTRESS. ONE WEEK LATER I HAD A NEW MATTRESS AND IT WASN'T A SPEARS BUT ONE THAT I CHOSE FROM THEIR SHOWROOM. FARMERS STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.!!!!!!!

Piece of crap
Wish I had read these reviews before I bought my $800 mattress. Like everybody else, mine sagged after just a few months. My old mattress was better than this one. I bought a new one because I suffer with severe back problems and thought a new mattress would be more comfortable. Did anyone ever pursue a class action suit against these people? Spears (Englander) no longer exists. Bought out in 2014.
I run a mattress store in NC and we used to carry Englander mattresses made by Spears Bedding. I recently had a customer from 2012 call about a warranty claim. Since we no longer carry Englander products, the only way to handle such a claim is through the manufacturer itself. Spears was bought by Southerland Bedding in Nashville, TN late 2014 and has since moved all production up there from Rome, GA. If anyone has an issue with an Englander mattress, you can try to get in touch with Southerland, but there is no guarantee that they will honor a Spears warranty. I hope this helps some of you, as I hate to see anyone be stuck with a broken-down mattress.

I to have a saging out of shape mattress,i drove to the company store where i purchased it ,GONE CLOSED ,SOLD OUT, . A thousand dollar mattress shot out in a year. Can anyone spell CLASS ACTION!!!!!!

$ 1,000.00 Englander Summerville LE King Mattress Sags in less than 1 year
My husbands side of our mattress sags and squeaks after less than a year he weighs about 209 pounds, not an extremely overweight man for five feet 11 inches. It was sold to me as an Englander a good name in mattresses, manufactured by Spears Mattress Company in Rome, GA. We replaced a 10 year old mattress,which as it turned out was I better shape than this mattress in less than a year. I am more than extremely disappointed in Manatee Mattress who claims to be the #1 Mattress Store in Manatee County Florida sold this inferior mattress to me. Clearly a false claim considering the quality of mattresses they sell. Obviously Englander needs to review Spears Mattress and not allow them to use their name on the mattresses they manufacture. Do not purchase an Englander mattress manufactured by Spears, you will be wasting your money on a defective mattress and forced to buy an expensive mattress topper and a support pad to place under the mattress to help prevent it from sagging. The mattress they sell are no good
I purchase a mattress from Mattress Max in Rome, Ga and 3 months later I could pick it up and fold it in half by myself and there was a 4 inch dipp in the middle of the matterss. They replace it, if I returned it myself, they would not pick it up. I have had the new mattress for about 3 months, and this one is no good also. There is a dip in the mattress about 3 inches. I wake up and can not move my back, neck and hips do nothing but hurt all the time. I will never buy a mattress from them again.

Huge and costly mistake to purchase a Spears mattress set.
I purchased a Grand Estates Dynasty Luxury EuroTop King mattress and foundation and frame from Mattress Express which was sold to Mattress Firm. $1,585.94 and two years of one person sleeping in the bed the springs squeak, the mattress is already sagging an inch, the seams are coming apart, the stitching on the pillow top, mattress sides, and foundation is unraveling, (by the way, the inspector told me that the box springs is manufactured with cardboard!) and I'm horribly uncomfortable. There's a huge sleeping well (which they imply is a 'comfort well') within an hour of going to bed. Comfort Well? Seriously? The reason I threw out my old mattress set was because I was constantly rolling into a well and waking up hurting all over due to lack of proper support. So after being aggravated for more than a year and getting more and more uncomfortable with each night of sleep - I finally decided to file a warranty claim (10 year warranty). An inspector came to my house, told me I was sold the wrong metal frame (the two foundation pieces don't both fit on the center rail) and noted the squeaking springs. There was a 1" depression in the mattress top. 1 1/2" is required to be a mfg. defect. Mind you, I weight 130 lbs. and am 5'7". The pictures clearly show the unraveling and mis-fitting foundations. The company has advised me that there were no manufacturing defects found by the inspector or Quality Control...referring to "wear and tear" after two years, and oxidization of the springs. Although I would like to be able to report 'wear and tear', I'm the only person that uses the bed, which is in a bedroom inside an air conditioned home. The company does not stand behind it's product(s) and I am disgusted that so much money was spent on this product. As an Interior Designer, I will NEVER recommend any brands manufactured by ASC to any of my clients or personal acquaintances and am strongly disappointed that as a professional I was taken to the cleaners on this item. Typically - you get what you pay for - this wasn't cheap. I trusted the American manufacturing representation and am sad that an American company will not stand behind it's products. These brands include: 21st Century, Englander, Rest & Restore, Egel, Nature's Finest, Lifestyle, Vista, Tension Ease, Viscopedic, Synergy, American Spirit, Energy Health Solutions, Nature's Spirit and Southern Cross. I want a new mattress set and the correct frame. But not a Spears...

Review about Low Quality Pillow
Purchased Grand Estate gold pillow top one month ago has a ridge that runs full length of mattress, you are in a valley on either side, threads coming out. Back and hips hurt from sleeping on it. Complained to retailer they finally agreed to give me a replacement but want a deliver fee. Would not recommend this brand.

I've just read over these complaints about Spears bedding. It's true that Terry and family sold the company about five years ago, and they've had their rough patches since then. However, if you look at the average losses of these buyers, you will see that this is primarily about buying lower end bedding. EVERY manufacturer, including this one, make everything from extremely low to very high-end bedding. We've been a dealer for Spears for many many years, and we have always found them to be very fair when it comes to warranty. Yes, the consumer will have to provide information and photographs. It is impossible for a factory the size of this one to go out and inspect every complaint as their bedding is distributed all over the East coast. And remember, comfort is never warranted. The warranty protects you only from factory defects. As a dealer, my advice is to avoid low-end bedding (anything under $1000 in a queen). Less expensive mattresses have lower density foams in them, and you will be unhappy in the long run. If you're over 250#, you should be on bedding constructed for this weight, such as King Koil extended life bedding. So many heavy people buy the $399 queen and then wonder why they are not comfortable.

The company that doesnt care
purchased a memory foam mattress for over 1k, 6 months later one side is so soft that my chihuahua walks to one side and rolls off. The company told me that i would need to do warranty paperwork, take pictures etc. After explaining to them that the pictures would show nothing, they told me...well do it anyways. After numerous phone calls to their 'request warranty paperwork answering machine' no response, and no paper work. After calling the company customer service line and asking someone if they can please send me the paper work, they tell me "well leave a message on the line and they will send it to you!" and speaking to the salesman in my region, who also said he would send it to me" nothing! also the company we bought it from is unable to help. so after 2 months on a blow up mattress...no one cares. This company is a scam, and they should all be in jail!!! I will never purchase a mattress that they made, nor will my family, friends, or acquaintances. Attorney is hired (family member! yay) and going to war!!! Just always look at the tag people and google the reviews!

Product did not hold up, company refused to help
Mattress sagged after 3-4 months of use and would not spring back. Company offered on help and did not stand behind their warranty. Faulty product, do not buy. I took pictures and wrote letters but every response was sorry we can't do anything. My elderly parents bought this mattress and live on a fixed income and then you have a company that takes advantage of them and doesn't stand behind their products, they should not be able to sale faulty merchandise. That is alot of money for a product to not even last a year. My Dad was the only person to sleep on the prduct.

Spears Mattress is not worth thier trouble.
The mattress is VERY uncomfortable!It sags when you lay in one spot for only a few weeks.It hurts my lower back and extremely in between my shoulders along with the very loud noises just from sitting on it.I have spoken with whom my Father had bought the mattress from with NO help and even tried to contact the company its self with NO help.Do NOT buy a mattress to sleep on with this name alls you will end up with is nights of sleeplessness although I do take a sleeping pill to help me sleep from the enormous amount of medication I take to help my seizures and pain!

Spears Mattress not owned by the Spears family
I to purchased a mattress and box springs and furniture from Spears directly several times. My husband knew the owner. When he called one day and ask to speak to him the person on the phone was rude and short but basicly told him "speak to me or no one!!" He did however get it out of him that the Spears family no longer owned it and we have never gone back again after the owners rudeness. I hate for the original owners to get all the flack because he kept the name "Spears." I hate that it has ruined their reputation since they sold out.

Report Spears to BBB.org they have over 20 negative files at the Better Business Bureau in the last 3 years. They are not a member by choice. Watch the inspectors and have them give you a report if they come to your house if Spears sends one out. They lie for Spears and the Judges are on Spears side also when you take them to small claims court. If you need a mattress and you live local, get one from the Spears branch in Summerville, Ga called Southern Bedding. A cousin, but they are christians and will let you pick out everything you want your mattress made out of right in their shop. When you file your claim with the BBB.org their are two different Spears companies listed. Use the one I have noted here below. Also, go to your local newspaper and ask them what you can legally place in the paper about your experience. If we do not spread the word, they will keep getting away with it. Spears Mattress P.O.
