Crimson trace warranty won't help .

Laser on 5 year old body guard stoped working. Since this laser is built in the frame. No other will fit. Contacted S&W was told to call crimson Trace, submitted pictures, original receipt , They sent me to a website were I could buy one, but they out of stock! And dont know when it would be available. Since S&W has life Time Warranty called them back. Even though you ca still my the body guard with this laser Thay would not take on out of there stock. So the warranty is not considered life Time to me. Ther is a newer model that the laser attaches to the frame, not integral. Why is this not an offer to trade firearms. This is what good companys offer.

Simplest service takes forever!

Sent a .38 revolver to their repair center in MA to get the gun re-blued. I sent it at the end of February 2023. I received an email (March 8th 2023) saying they received the gun and will be providing me a quote for the work soon. After multiple phone calls I finally received a quotation for the work on June 8th 2023. I called them to approve the work and gave my CC number on June 13th 2023. I just called them today August 1st 2023 for a status and was told that they are shut down for two weeks and to call back next week for a status. I was also told that there has been no updates for my gun in their computer. So I am in this for approximately 5 months now just to get a pistol re-blued. Go to you local gunsmith and save yourselves the headache. These guys are just terrible and their customer service isn't even apologetic about it.

Sent Firearm in under warranty - 04/18 not yet returned

I sent my firearm in under warranty. It was received by Smith and Wesson on April 18, 2023 - as I was going to be out of the country I advise them to not return the same until after May 13. On Monday, May 15, I spoke with customer service advising them that I had returned, and that the hold on the weapon could be released, and the firearm returned. I have not yet received a notification from Federal Express or any other carrier advising that Smith and Wesson has created a label to return my gun. I have called many times in the last two weeks, and always told that the representative would take care of it, or email the people in shipping, etc. to date I have no information as to the whereabouts of my firearm. I have yet to receive any meaningful response from Smith and Wesson and I am greatly disappointed in their customer service.

Failure to feed

I recently bought a SD40 VE. I guess I'm an idiot for trusting in the Smith & Wesson name. I'll admit it was an impulse buy and I should have researched this particular firearm. Right out of the box it had failure to feed! I've not even fired the darn thing! Upon reading reviews concerning this particular weapon? I'm definitely concerned. Furthermore, reading reviews concerning Smith & Wesson themselves? I'm questioning if i will be purchasing from Smith & Wesson again.

Can't get anyone to answer in customer service

They advertise a new gun and when you try to find it you can't. I called 25 different dealers and no one had it in stock and didn't know when they would any.

RUDE customer service

I email Customer service as I was ONLY trying to get advice and parts availability on a S&W 9 Shield Plus lower receiver. Receiver had been chewed on by a pet. I was not asking for warranty repair, OR service. I only had questions on availability and suggestions. I was RUDELY down quickly. I asked nothing more, only questions. ZERO Customer support, and left the whole situation with a very bad feeling. How can I continue to recommend S&W handguns to my friends and customers when this is how they treat loyal customers? There is NO excuse for this type of treatment.

I like revolvers. I would love a 2 1/2 inch 386. custom shop.

I would like to switch out the titanium cylinder for a stainless steel cylinder on my 360 PD. I am 84 now and would like to lighten the recoil a little. However, I was told it could not be done. Thank you anyway. Gary

Crimson trace contact number

No one called me back with the info I requested. Does S&W own Crimson Trace Laser Sight Company? If so, please forward me their contact information. Thanks

I got no answer at Customer Service

I called before 6pm EST, 2:37pm, and was told they were closed. I was disappointed, as I left work to call before closing from the west coast.

I like what I have seen so far.

You answered back to my question very quickly. When I called my wait time was very short. The person I talked to was very helpful. I also like the fact that you don't farm out your customer service over seas. It was nice to talk to someone I could understand. Thank you.

Terrible product; terrible quality control

I bought a new Model 41...$1,400, took it to the range to sight in, fired one shot...the trigger wouldn't reset, the extractor wouldn't work. Dropped the magazine, loaded a new 3 round magazine, fired one shot, same thing. Tried a third time same thing. So I opened the case it came in to access the manual to troubleshoot and, I'm not making this up, the manual was for a revolver! Back to the dealer who test fired the gun and experienced the same problem. The gun has been with S&W since November 15 and S&W non-customer service said it will probably be 6-8 weeks for repair! Terrible product, terrible quality control, terrible service!

Rust on gun that is bad

Gun was not exposed to any moisture or sweat. Never been fired and it became rusted. Also I failed to mention gap that you can see through between slide and lower portion of gun. None of my other 9mm look this way.

Defective Firearm S&W Refuses to Replace

Original review Aug 24, 2022
This is what I put on BBB's website: On February 1, 2022 I purchased an M&P40 Shield M2.0 from Guns.com. Because of travel & some health issues, I was unable to use the weapon until June 25, 2022. I went to a basic firearm class (4gtactical.com). On that day, the slide was difficult to pull and arm, the magazine release was stiff, and the slide got stuck. 4 men tried to close it and couldn't. The bottom of the smaller magazine was coming off. Another man gave me his Glock G19 to use for the class; worked very well. Guns.com said I had to deal with Smith & Wesson, so I sent the Shield (stuck open) & mag to them July 7, 2022. It was sent back to me on August 5, 2022, without the magazine and no repairs done. They did something, because the slide was closed, and I find this to be a safety issue. I told them I never got to fire the weapon and wanted it replaced, not fixed. Put that message in the box. It was virtually brand new except magazine practice & a little oiling before the slide got stuck open. They didn't tell me how they got that slide to close and left it for me to have that happen again. Where is my magazine? They wouldn't answer the phone around 4:43pm that Friday when they close at 6pm. What kind of nonsense is this, and why won't anybody communicate what's going on? I waited all this time for nothing, and, they left me with a problem that could happen while firing the gun. ARE THEY KIDDING ME? I want a new M&P40, not something I have to constantly worry about while operating a dangerous weapon. The S&W gunsmiths won't do their job correctly and communicate, so replace this with another new M&P40 or give me my money back, and S&W can have this one picked up. ----- Whoever I'm communicating with on the BBB website is lying about not receiving this weapon in the shape it was in, keeps telling me to send it back so they can tell me there's nothing wrong with it, they can't duplicate the problem because someone there closed the slide, and they're wasting my time. They sent another magazine as it wasn't in the returned box, but won't do anything about the gun. I have to take them to court, and I will include everything I purchased around this firearm, i.e., 2 holsters, ammunition, etc. In the meantime, I'm telling everybody about this fiasco.

Messes up my weapon

I purchased a brand new shield 9. Notice failure to feed and scoring in barrel and on casings. So I sent it in for warranty work, get it back in absolute horrible condition. Metal shavings all inside the weapon dented and cracked my feed ramp scored the inside of the barrel more, completely made this weapon inoperable. Customer service was absolutely atrocious.
