Left stranded

Left 11 of us inc babies stranded in Manchester airport at 3am we were delayed 1hr 20min they knew this. Then 50min through customs and baggage collection to find our coach had left us or just didnt turn up

Did not turn up

SMC left 11 of our family stranded. We were delayed 1hr 20min they knew about this we spoke to them. We landed it took 50min from landing to arrivals. Our driver had gone saying he had took another job smc say he ran out of hours either way its no different un organised and total lack of customer care. Our court case is about to be confirmed AVOID THIS COMPANY PLEASE

SCAM avoid

SMC Coach Hire PLEASE SHARE THIS POST They are a SCAM they make money on delayed flights ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY as a big family arriving home from holiday they stranded us left us at the airport early hours when called the driver said not his problem as flights were delayed WE LET THEM KNOW ALSO! We were straight out from baggage and were on time if not early from the delay and they confirmed knowing the driver was rude and said not his problem and LEFT!! Plus they had the baby car seat to which the driver when spoken to said he didnt even have that either!! We were stuck at the airport hours away from home with a baby and 5 children left in Manchester airport freezing early hours For hours! they were aware we was delayed and said no problem we track the flights .. DISGUSTING SERVICE PLEASE DONT RISK IT NOT RELIABLE and will be fighting for refund DO NOT USE took upfront payment now refusing to refund we are taking it to court it isnt as if it was a small price it was £700+ all they have said is not their problem and claim on holiday insurance not off them!!! it is disgusting please spread the word if they did this to the elderly or young people or people travelling with venerable adults we were lucky we had each other as the outcome could of been very different in a city away from home! I wont stop sharing on all social media until we are refunded plus giving bad reviews online

Monsterous Driver

We were left stranded 80 miles from home waiting for an hour and 10 mins. When the driver finally arrived he was furious and refused to even take us to the return destinations we had agreed and paid for. When we tried to argue our case (to be actually taken home!!) he threatened to dump us ont he side of the road. We had £475 for this experience. When I complaied to SMC Coaches they a week to reply to say they couldn't find my booking. I bet they'd have found my booking quick enough if I owed them money

Cancelled with 2 days notice

AVOID AT ALL COSTS This company are brokers and do not own their own vehicles or drivers. If you book with them be prepared to be let down. Had a coach booked and two days before we were due to leave, received an email saying they had to cancel, due to it breaking down. They didn't even have the decency to ring. Have spent the whole evening ringing every coach / minibus company possible to try and get a replacement with no luck. Most companies we spoke to asked who had let us down and when we mentioned the name, none of them were surprised, this was how we found out they are actually a broker. They accept your money and then ring around 2 days before to try and find a company that we fulfil the agreement. When they can't they cancel. We had booked and had given them over 12 months notice to get their useless act together. What a lovely way to earn a living, letting people down. No compensation, just a woman sounding like all she did was spend her whole day repeating the same pathetic blurb "I understand your frustration, but it is out of our control"

Great disappointment after 8 years of co-working

A more heartless, money grabbing, unfriendly service you will not experience. Do not give your money or your custom to this travesty of a bus company! They will ask for full payment for the services they provide in advance. Not a problem! but should anything happen, like a world event for example, Pandemic, War and you are unable to fulfil the contract. Unlike many companies who are sympathetic to such circumstances and at least refund something of YOUR money. Not this company. You won't see a penny. Especially if you are a foreign visitor and have little chance of demanding money back for a school trip for children. Heartless, greedy and not even willing to discuss the situation. Don't give these people your money. You will never see a penny of it again.

Terrible experience

The biggest bunch of cowboys. Totally dishonest, unreliable with the most appalling customer service. Do not use unless you want your guests to be left stranded and having to hire expensive taxis.

Rapacious company

Rapacious company......booked for stag....£395. Cancelled due to non essential travel concerns from government. Gave them 6 days notice....which in current state of the nation is decent Terms and conditions dictated we received no refund despite a willingness to forfeit deposit. Book with this company at your pearl.

Use another company.

We booked a minibus to take 15 ladies for a weekend away, when the driver turned up (late) the driver arrived in a 14 seater minibus. The suggestion of all squashing in was turned down by us and a family member had to drive the lady the ninety minute journey to our destination. So our complaint to SMC coach hire, in order to at least refund the family member some cost for their fuel and their time, has not been resolved. Apparently fifteen people present and one driver, means that the driver is believed regarding the lie that a taxi was offered, to transfer the lady who wasnt able to ft on the bus. We paid £320 for our journey, not one pound has been offered as a goodwill gesture. If anything goes wrong, they just don't want to know. Totally unprofessional. Use another company.

Don’t use!

I never write reviews but felt compelled. They do everything to get your booking then don’t follow through. Driver couldn’t speak English, was at the wrong pick up place, then didn’t know where we were going or best routes. We had to advise him through Google maps which wasn’t easy given his English! Just would never use them. When we complained customer services didn’t want to know. There are too many other companies doing coach hire, go with another company! You will regret it if you go with SMC!!!

Maggot company takes your money and leaves you stranded

30 of us paid £18 for mini buses to Heaton Park for gig. Got picked up fine. Maggot bus driver didn't pick us up where he dropped us off after the gig because he said we were "in the pub." No mate, we were in the spot where you dropped us off then got us chasing you around saying meet us in different locations then *** off and left us stranded. Your drivers need a slap for lying and taking money off customers and failing to fulfil their service. Take-the-money-and-run bunch of *** DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PARASITES

Worst coach hire ever

This company has given me probably the worst experience I have ever known in more than 20 years of coach hire. I booked through them to take a Pilgrimage Group to Gatwick airport. They supplied a coach which turned up late, was filthy dirty, and a driver who didn't know how to get to the airport when there was a motorway closure. I had to navigate him using Google maps on my phone. We only just made it to the airport in time to check in for the flight. SMC also imposed two additional charges - because I gave my home postcode instead of the pickup point when I first enquired, they charged £60 extra despite the fact that it was less than 4 miles different; then £80 extra for the return because our flights were delayed due to a ground staff strike in Italy. When I complained on return about the poor service, I found their customer service was just as poor as any other aspect of their service and they were just not interested. What they don't make clear on their website is that they are not actually a coach company but simply a booking agency, so for my trip at least they simply booked a local coach company for the job, with no control over the quality. I would not use this company again under any circumstances and would not recommend anyone else to do so.

STAY AWAY VERY UNRELIABLE

Read the other negative reviews and STAY AWAY from this company .There are plenty of good reliable companies out there. I booked 2 33 seaters in Feb for a charity event in June.3 days before the event after I had paid them in full weeks before.They send me an email to say they can no longer supply the 33 seaters. 3 days before the event. When i said I will accept a bigger coach that they offered they said they could no longer do this. Read the bad reviews on here. I'm sure the 60 participants they were due to pick up will be leaving bad feedback too. If you want a reliable company use A Class Corporate Travel they have worked so hard today to make our event happen.booking reference 296700

SMC Withold Money From Charity

PLEASE PEOPLE, AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY CLEARLY HAVE NO MORAL COMPASS AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER ONCE THEY HAVE TAKEN YOUR MONEY. We booked two coaches with SMC to take our Cubs and Scouts on a one-off weekend trip to Brownsea Island, departing on Friday night. Both coaches failed to turn up and we were left with 50 children standing out in the heavy rain. We couldn't contact SMC as no-one was manning the phone and the message box was 'Full'! Eventually on Saturday SMC emailed us to apologise (we had made other panicked arrangements and managed to get our 50 children to the Island with Barnes Coaches, thank you Barnes). We replied to the email and cancelled the return journey, obviously with no confidence at all in SMC. Barnes also picked us up. To cut a long story short, SMC initially refused to give us any money back, then relented and offered half of the money!!! In essence, we would be paying £800, from a charity, for a service we did not receive. They failed in their own guide lines regarding timelines, keeping us informed, etc. I have had to, and have been, chasing ever since. Their excuses have been factually incorrect i.e. the coach broke down on Friday. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SECOND COACH!? No answer. They have failed to provide any evidence of an investigation and they know damn well that the money belongs to a charity!! Their Company Director (details of this person can be found on: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/0846****/persons-with-significant-control , though I can't vouch for the accuracy contained on the web site) We are currently undertaking legal steps to to get the money back. We shouldn't be in this position. Hopefully, when they see this, and further ratings on other web sites, they will see the light and do the morally correct thing and return the money to the children, where it belongs. I'll update this post as things progress. PLEASE PEOPLE, AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY CLEARLY HAVE NO MORAL COMPASS AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER ONCE THEY HAVE TAKEN YOUR MONEY.

Exceptional Customer Service

I recently used SMC Coach Hire to transport some of my important clients to and from an event. It was crucial that the vehicle was of an executive standard and everything ran to schedule. I couldn't have been happier with the level of service that was provided and the care that was taken to ensure the vehicle I got was exactly what I needed. My clients reported the driver was friendly and professional and everything ran exactly as planned. I will certainly be using SMC Coach Hire again and would recommend to anyone seeking chauffeured transport.
