My first payment was July 2023 for $167 theyve taken two payments of $167 on the 3rd of July 2023 & my bank got involved Simply Self Storage refund me one of the payments for $167 back into my bank account now here they are again taking another payment of $167 out of my bank account on the 21st of July 2023. I want my money reimbursed to my bank account ASAP they have no right constantly going into my bank account. Why & what reason do they have? Thanks,Mrs. Sandra P.

Trying to make a payment

Simply SS is very inconvenient. The app doesn't work making it impossible too pay. Then, they are charging $9 extra if you pay over the phone. It doesn't do any good too call them... they either put you on hold or the phone just goes silent then, hangs up. I thought the online portal was for customers convenience. This is so frustrating and, inconvenient. I'm trying to avoid paying any late fees and you guys are making it very impossible.

To pay my bill

It was not a complaint. I just contacted the office and customer service to pay my bill. No complaints at all. I didn't realize that I had contacted this company to file a complaint because I don't have a complaint. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Simply Self Storage is a good business to do business with!

Complaint

Simply storage is so cheap they don't have a customer service department. My storage unit is not protected because the gate has been broken for a while. They have continued to hike rental fees but fail to provide quality service and protection for your goods.Im really angry.

The employees are wicked, evil, no customer service skills. Yell at customers, lack skills for resolving issues, are always angry and frustrated, unhappy, show signs of lunaticism, very horrible empl

I own units 0613, and 0615. After making payments, they applied my payments to some one else or are putting it in their pockets. Sometimes I make cash payments. I can't access my code to enter. They have no right to disable my codes and assign to me one code access. After making payments, now I can't have access and they - Thomas and Jason are very very Rude . I have to approach them with police in the morning since they are becoming violent.

No communication

Ive requested a refund because the manager overcharged me for a month I am not using. No one has contacted (District Manager or Corporate Office). This is extremely disappointing and frustrating. Its really unprofessional to do this to a loyal customer.

Manager

I have used simply storage in Olive branch Mississippi in the past, when I rented a unit in March 2022 I told the manager that I would be moving out the first weekend in April on a Sunday, she said OK. I moved to Nashville and left my belongings in a unit that was $229 a month. I came back on April 31, 2022 because I had business in Mississippi. In between that time I had been calling simply storage for up to six days and no one would ever answer the phone, I left a voicemail only twice and when my car was returned I missed it because I was at work, but as soon as I saw the missed call I would call back still no answer. So when I came back on April 31 I called simply storage still no answer left a voicemail she returned my call , I told her that I would be moving my stuff out on Sunday the first Sunday in April she said I still had to pay my rent because I did not give a 10 day notice. I told her that I gave that 10 day notice when I first signed up to rent the unit. Ive been told her I would be down there to talk to her in person. Once I got there she pretended to not remember anything about the call that morning, I stated my fax to her again about telling her when I first rented it that I would be moving out the first weekend in April she said the computer will not prorate a customer out of the system but it will prorate a customer into the system, meaning when I moved in and it was the last few days of February and she prorated us in to March so why could I not be prorated out I only needed to pay for April 1 and 2nd I was getting my things out on the third. I am now out of pocket $229 for three days I am furious and frustrated over this matter. I will never rent from any simply storage ever again

Complaint on a manager

I have rented a unit from simply storage in Olive branch Mississippi in the past, so I decided to use them again. When I chose a unit In March 2022 that I would only be needing it to the end of March and moving out the first weekend in April, because we can only do our moving on a Sunday. When I returned on the first weekend in April the manager tells me I have to pay for a full months rent for April I asked her if I could prorate it and pay for April 1 second and move out on the third she said no. I think this is ridiculous because I do not even need the storage for a full month as I am moving out of state. This caused me grief because I lost $229 that I couldve put towards my new place in deposits. Im very upset about this I just paid this on march 31, 2022. She said the computer would not allow her to do that although the computer allows her to prorate once youre moving in. That makes no sense to me as she was not concerned at all about the situation she had put me in. I will never use this location again or simply storage for that matter

Won’t accept partial payment to avoid auction

I was sent a notice that I had until March 5 to pay $566 to avoid my storage contents going up for auction. Since then I have tried several times to get in contact with the manager at the storage location to see how I can pay partially because my credit card restricts me to a $500 purchase limit per day. I spoke to the assistant manager, James yesterday who advised me he would look into the issue but today when I called him back he said that I now have to pay $760 in full, to satisfy the charge and get my account out of auction status. I explain to him that the legal notice that was sent to me said that $566 was all that was due to prevent the auction. I did not sign anything agreeing to have to pay in full. None of the documents I signed stipulated that no partial payments would be excepted, so their refusal to except my payment is a illegal and violates The terms and stipulations that were signed by me. The employee James was unwilling to help me resolve my problem and I was very dissatisfied with his customer service.

Warn others

DON'T RENT from Simply Self Store!!!!! I researched the Collierville area storage climate-controlled locations and made a reservation for Jan, 23, 2021 at the 314 S. Mt. Pleasant Road location. I visited and spoke with Dia Kalley with my questions and detail options including availability, unit temps (told 60-78 degrees), NO contract, first month free, no internal building surveillance, payment date, 10-day prior cancel notice with a prorated exit for less than full month use. No mention of a grace period. Upon first loading day, discovered no dolly's, unkept vent duct wall and was told I had to supply my own storage unit light bulb. Should have changed my mind at that point but gave them the benefit of the doubt as the unit floor looked fine. During snowstorm week, I visited the unit to retrieve a couple items and discovered it was very cold. Thermostat flat lined less than 50 degrees and setting was about 52 with cold air blowing through vents. Called to share concerns. After several phone calls the following week with Dakotah Logan, Store Manager, I was told the unit is working fine and someone probably left a door open. I raised a problem with subpar service for expected payment. My payment date was March 1 and I was still in conversations with managers. On March 4, I went to make an online payment and discovered a late fee. March 6, I spoke w/Tess, another store manager and she said the grace period was the fifth and she would talk with the District Manager Mike regarding the late payment, new over locked fee and the HVAC problem. I was informed there was a missed grace payment period and had to pay the fees. March 7, visited unit location to begin emptying the unit, spoke to Dakotah to cancel my unit lease with a written 10-day notice, and to apply for prorated refund amount. He said he would try to apply the refund. Returned to clear out unit a little after office hours. March 8, I called Dakotah in the morning and he agreed if I came over, we could do the unit inspection, exit paperwork and try to apply the prorated refund. The unit check out clean and discovered he did not know about the light bulb and he could not apply a prorated refund. The S. Mt. Pleasant Road location is run down, they cut corners, and the big company attitude from people like District Managers Mike is despicable. Their front-line people are not properly trained. Assuming I ever use a storage again, I will NEVER use Simply Self Storage, will eagerly and repeatedly spread negative word of mouth comments of their callous treatment of customers. Left my light bulb and perhaps this will illuminate their greedy ways, but I doubt it. They deserve a ZERO rating and I only gave a 1 star because Dia and Dakotah seem like good people and they give their job some effort. DON'T rent from Simply Self Storage!!!

Poor Service rates go up

Simply Safe Storage change the gate codes which is their business but failed to send out notification of the change. I work out of the country so when I arrived to get my car on Thanksgiving I can not access the storage facility. They took the time to change everyone's code but could not find the time to notify it renters by email or phone call of the change. Also they have raised the rates at least once a year over the last 2 years

Don’t do business with this inept corporation

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! They are negligent and dont keep the property secure. Lazy people work here and dont take care of the simplest problems - then people get broken into! There are currently 2 cuts in the fence to allow ANY POS criminal in to steal your valuables...they dont care! They dont have cameras that work and dont have any outside as advertised! Its not worth your headache!! It took 2 months for them to move a LADDER by the fence convenient for criminals but bad deal for renters! This complaint doesnt include all simply safe location just this one on Indiana Ave In NW OKC. UPDATE: This happened 8/29/20 and today 9/11/20 the holes are still there!! See pic

Invalid Submission to Federated Collection Bureau

On 9/23/19 my sister text me that she received a call from SSS to come in asap. My sister said the associate told her when I returned to work a few days ago I saw the lock cut my mother had a unit across from my sister she did not call my mother only my sister. 1. If you saw it when you returned to work a few days ago you should have called immediately that lets me know that the associate was involved and it was an inside job. That is immediate grounds for termination. I am in management and 2 degrees in management. My mother went to the facility the next day and took pictures and it was not the way they left it someone had been rambling through the stuff and stole items. My mother informed them they would vacate the units. The associate said no bill is due if vacated by 10/5/19. I rented a Uhaul truck 10/5/19 and pictures were taken of both units emptied and swept we did our part by vacating by the 5th to prevent charges. A letter comes in the mail 6/27/2020 to both of them stating they owe $119, the other about $83. They cannot keep management they keep changing. It's obvious it was not noted properly on their accounts they vacated due to units involved in theft by an employee and no bill due since vacated 10/5/20. Its obvious management did not thoroughly investigate or research the accounts before sending over an invalid bill due to their collection agency. I do not appreciate this at all. I have left 3 voicemails for Corporate and a voicemail for the District Mgr Mike. If this is not resolved to my satisfaction 6/29/20 I will report this to FTC and my attorney because you do not wait 8 months later to collect on invalid charges during this pandemic to gain money. This is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. I took the time to go back through text to obtain dates and statements made, dates of pictures taken, and gathered my comments together before making any calls and typing this review. I am a very detailed and analytical individual and this is something that I do not accept at all. They made matters worse reporting this to the collection agency because they did not thoroughly research on their part. No one wants to continue renting from a company that obviously has associates involved in stealing from customers. Then the cameras do not properly work. I told them back in 2016 to vacate the premises and it took this to remove them from this companies' storage facility. Simply Self Storage needs to step up their process, training for their associates and management. You do not send an invalid bill to a collection agency because you do not know how to thoroughly research. You never sent anything in the mail to them except this collection bill that just arrived. I RECOMMEND DO NOT RENT FROM NO SIMPLY SELF STORAGE!!!!! They need to come up with a new plan on how to operate, the facility that we used to rent from has gone down it should be torn down and rebuilt due to various water leaks from the a/c that appear to be patched up. They need a complete makeover. It was formerly Southern Storage and it was nice while under that company name. My unit was broken into back in 2007 I think it was still Southern Storage but I had only put 2 bags of items of no value in there, so I was not concerned. I was moving the bulk of my valuable items in at the end of the week otherwise I would have filed a complaint, claim, etc.
