Killed my sweet dog Charlie

My vet prescribed us Simparica Trio Aug 1st. My dog Charlie, 9 year old Pomeranian was in perfect health. Gave tablet to Charlie Aug 4th, had his first seizure on the 15th, 2nd huge seizure on the 18th and the last 2 on the 21st. I took him to the highest rated vet in Laguna Beach each time, where he received a shot to calm him. On the 21st, his breaths became both labored and shallow. That evening I took him to the ER and then transferred him by ambulance to an emergency cardiologist where he stopped breathing upon arrival. They resuscitated him, and I was able to be with him right before he passed away forever.

Seizures after 1st dose

Within 36 hours of 1st dose of Simparica trio my 8 month old puppy was having a seizure. Followed by another 36 hours later. In process of detoxing puppy and hoping for no more seizures, but surely too soon to tell. At this moment 48 hours after the 2nd seizure, her back logs are still wobbly, and is not trusting to go up 1 step. I hope this too improves over time. Spent 6 hours at emergency vets, have also followed up with regular vet, both believe it is possible related to Simparica trio. Totally trusted a medication recommended by my vet. Shame on this company!

Simparica Trio

My dog was admitted to hospital Monday for severe pancreatitis. In May, my dog's medication was increased bc he was a little over 45lbs. Previously he would sometimes throw up the same night he took medication, but we thought he was just sensitive. I gave him the medication on Thursday, Friday he didn't eat, Saturday afternoon he started throwing up yellow. We thought he ate something bad. When he was t getting any better, we took him in Monday and he spent two days in the hospital being treated to only watch his kidney values worsen. The doc said anything we thought he could've eaten wouldn't have done that and I was like the only other thing he had was his simparica trio. They responded it could be a combo of things and deflected my concern, but with good conscience and maybe to help someone else I want to make sure I put it out there that I think simparica trio contributed to killing my 1 year and eight month dog.

I lost my best friend

I lost my maltipoo to this flea medicine. I didnt put 2 and 2 together immediately so PLEASE heed my warning!!! I gave my 8 lb best friend his first dose (recommended by my veterinarian as a convenience seeing as it was new and both treatments were in one pill). He was shaking and twitching all evening. I was assured this was a small side effect no worries. The next day he was fine. I have been going to my vet for 15 years and have the utmost trust in him. His next dose the next morning I took him out side and he could not be in the sun with out twitching. I called and rushed him in. I was told this was a normal part of aging. I discuss my concerns about this med and was reassured this was just a coincidence. Well. I never gave the meds again to my baby Tiko again. His health declined rapidly. He began to not be able to walk well. Shake and tremble. I took him to neurology where I was told it was a neurological condition. I was told that they can do a pet scan but he would need to be sedated and there was a chance he would not make it and that even if they found something there was no cure. I chose to keep him comfortable with prednisone. This killed a part of me. I just know it was simparica trio. No proof. Do not give this med to your little ones. They cannot handle it. Please.

Severe Side Effects!

Original review Sep 27, 2022
My dog started Simparica on June 1st. He was previously taking Interceptor, with no issues. The few months that have went by with him on it, we noticed him vomiting, itching, diarrhea, very loose stool and had an ear infection. Today he had a grand mal seizure! I looked up the side effects and it's everything that is listed. He was perfectly fine prior to starting this medication. Furious is an understatement!

Rebate

Rebate info was deceiving. Must go on line n sign up for rewards. No info about rebate ! Why would I care if I got 460 points ? I have never used this product, how do I know I'd like to purchase again if 1st time use ? Ridiculous! 7 weeks for rewards card n must use rebate at a VET'S OFFICE ? Seriously?

Refund is misleading

.i shouldn't have to sign in to a rewards program for my rebate that comes on a card 6 weeks later n can only be used at a vet's office ! Ridiculous! Had to drill down on website n still didn't see rebate form or application ! Marketing is being very deceiving when including rebate. Terrible experience with online details not very.clear !!!

My baby had a dose 2 weeks ago and has experienced her first seizure , I trusted my vet to give me a flea med that was safe but this product needs to be taken off market .

PLEASE DON'T BUY OR USE THIS PRODUCT AS IT DOES CAUSE SEIZURES. THE VETS NEED TO RESEARCH BETTER BEFORE SELLING THIS TYPE OF MED. SHAMEFUL TO CAUSE HARM TO YOUR FOUR LEGGED KIDS,> MY BABY IS 3 WEEKS IN ON THIS MED AND HAD HER FIRST EVER SEIZURE. THIS IS TERRIBLE MEDICINE.

Neurological issues

I have been seeing lots of information going around that your product can cause neurological issues. It did to one of my dogs we spent over $3000 to have him well. I asked for a refund on the heats worth of supply I bought and they told me to reach out to you for that refund. I can provide ER vet recipes and my regular vet receipt

Resolved: This doesn't work

Updated by user Jul 21, 2022

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. I contacted their parent company and spoke with a representative who; after asking me about my dog ( did he take any other meds, did I place flea prevention for the yard, she told me to provide an invoice or sales receipt.

They would then issue a full refund which would take 4-6 weeks! I did as I was told and received a full refund mailed to me in ajust little over a week.

I paid $43.00 for a three month supply(3 pills). (Originally $63.00, I received a $20.00 discount for agreeing to autoship. Next delivery would be the $63.00) This is day 2 since administering this, yet both dogs are still miserable , itching and scratching. When I called customer service, I was told this doesn't have repellant and to wait for a few days This was just as expensive as any, but considering the price, that it only lasts for 30 days, and they are saying to wait for a few days!?? When pressed, they said a refund was on a case by case basis, but would refund my dollars when I present an invoice for said purchase as a one time courtesy. This would take 6-8 weeks!! What a crock! Now I am still wondering where the email with the particulars is. I was told it would be sent by 5;00 pm est. today I didn't receive it

Sickened my dog

I wish I had read these reviews before giving my rescue dog this awful product. My 9 year old rescue Chihuahua was lively, running in the yard, and seemed to be enjoying life. I gave her this medication because I try my best to be proactive with my animal's health. On May 17, 2022, I gave her this stuff and she hasn't been the same since. She screams when I touch her, is withdrawn, sad, and not the same dog. She lays in her bed, preferring to be left alone. This drug has been the only change in her life, so suspect it is to blame. I can only pray that she weathers this storm and recovers. I will never use this again and caution others to stay away from it.
