Call centre

Been hold for an hour and 30 minutes dont depending on call centre Sorry can't take camerashot as I am still on hold 1.23 MINUTES

Scotia scene, they change it to just regular debit card

I always have a scotiacard with scene and they just gave me a regular debit card without notice. I used to have complaints and they cannot give me better solutions on my problem.

Poor service

Been trying to speak with a real person at the branch I use for 3 days, no answers, nobody returns calls or messages. Cannot get an email address to send wire transfer instruction. Using the call center I was on hold for 15 minutes then cut off. Appalling!

Worst bank ever!

Worst bank I've been (I was client with 4 other banks in my lifetime). Been with them for 1 year. They don't call when they should for you to get your cards. They then send them back. Your online is then blocked. My credit card was fully paid every month. My checking account had over $5 000,00. After complaining (without any rudeness or threats) they decided to demarket me (close all my accounts, credits and never go back to them). When asked for a reason they answered that when opening my account I agreed they can close it when they want for whatever reason they want (fine prints). My daughter also applied for a credit card and was accepted. The branch (not same as mine) also never called her and sent the card back. When she enquired about it they yelled at her and told her she had to wait 3 months to re-apply. Search and you'll find similar cards from other banks.This bank is not worth it.

Replacement card

Whether you reach a customer service rep in Mexico, Dominican Republic, or Canada, none are empowered enough to do anything significant to help when you need a replacement card. Even Tina Broley at my Danforth and Woodbine Toronto branch would not help me. I was locked out of all online banking so this means that I have no access my funds and unable to even pay my line of credit with them as a result. Their fees are high and overall my short experience with this bank will be coming to an end as soon as I get through to someone after their normal 30 mins call centre wait time.

Inability to think wrt dual authentication process for Joint Accounts

So policy person read a security paper at some point and thought, dual authentication would be a good security system for accessing accounts online. Not a bad idea. However, that single lonely sad individual obviously never thought that there would be 10's of thousands of couples with joint accounts. So only ONE persons cell number can be used for the dual authentification. Do I need to point out the flaw in this. Maybe Scotia Bank thinks that the Alpha of the house is the only one who needs access to the joint account electronically. After all the other person can just put there shoes back on, get in the car and drive across town to pay the bills. ZERO, ZERO, fore thought. I'll just ask my significant other for permission to access our account from now on. So here's a solution - Allow more than one phone number to verify the user using the bank account. The few thousand, or ten thousands it may cost you to do this may seem expensive, but deduct that from your quarterly BILLION dollars profit and the shareholders won't notice. I'm one, I can take the 0.000000002 cent per share hit.

Mobile banking

tryed to reset mobile banking password over 10 times nothing worked ,got temporary password still didnt ,told the csr it wasnt gonna work so no more mobile banking for me with scotia

Incompetant and unknowledgeable

DO NOT BANK WITH SCOTIA !! Their employees know zero about banking, they will give you the run around, and if you phone they'll put you on hold endlessly. Then they will say they will set up what you need in the future, but when you check in later, NOTHING WILL HAVE BEEN DONE!! And the whole incompetent run around will start again. I kid you not, they will put you on hold for hours, trying to figure out how to solve your BASIC(!!) REQUEST. Then if and when you ask for a manager or supervisor, to complain, the run around will just continue, putting you on hold endlessly. I have tried going to 3 different branches and talked on the phone, with said above process, 3 times. Now, is it super complicated what I ask?, you wonder. NO! Just a stop payment. It would have been, and will be, faster to go to a different bank and open an account there !!! DO NOT BANK WITH SCOTIA, THEY ARE A JOKE !! Only time you'll be helped professionally is when you want to bring them (new) business. -10 out of 0 stars

Unsatisfied with On call customer service

Scotia bank's In-person customer service is really good, however, on call I have 3 chances and all 3 are not satisfied at all. It feels like customer is not being heard and so as they behave like why customer has called at all. sometimes background noise, or being muted, long waits. Not satifactory.

Complaint

Mortgage contract has expired while waiting for the other banks payout. This bank auto-renew my contract without my knowledge and they charge me with a whoping 5thousand dollars without a clear explanation. Hard earned money- blood, sweat and time wasted. This bank is a THIEF. Dont do business with them coz you will regret. Staff are unprofessional, inconsistent, inconsiderate to their clients. NB: Bathurst and Lawrence West Branch

Need to unfreeze my accounts

My card was compromised a few weeks ago. I was sent a new credit card. The system tells me I have to call to get my card reinstated. When I called the fraud squad I was told I have to come into the bank. Now I am handicapped I need help to get to the bank I did manage to get my card reinstated but I am still blocked from using my debit card. I am very angry that I can not use my money. the guys at the fraud squad have no idea what is going on. This is my money I should be able to use it for whatever purposes.

Garbage

This place has the worst customer service known to man ! They are not trained and better yet found out the own tangerine and that is just another product of garbage they produce! The call centre is so useless that a gum stuck on my shoe has more purpose

Create an awareness

I am a Scotiabank customer since 2008. I would like to create awareness to other customers on how the Scotiabank does not meet their customer needs and how they do not address their concerns effectively and sufficiently. I personally believe that Scotiabank disregard many customer concerns, customer service departments lack the knowledge and expertise, delayed in replying to my numerous voice/email messages so that they can gain interest/benefits and overall is avoiding accountability and responsibility for a deceitful representation. They cause many families financial and emotional constraints. From my personal experience, I was given a promotional cheque for a lower rate by the bank, I used them and they processed it, and after two month i found out that I was not qualified for the promotion and they charged me instead of 3.99% but rather 15%. The customer services was not able to explained why at first where the interest rate was accumulating. I found out that I missed my 2 payments by the due date. I paid my bill all the time just not by the due date. Why sending promotion cheque if you are qualified and process it as well.

Continuously we have issues with the Scotiabank

This time in this month they charged the car loan 4 times so we overpaid coz they charged on us. End of the result coz of this situation made me very angry. Our account was left $82 for few days now because of that. We have 2 kids and my wife is 8 months pregnant with our 3. Kid. We called the Scotiabank but they dont care. I explained the situation to them and they agreed our complaints but nothing happened after 2 days. I dont know what I can do with Scotiabank but how Im supposed to be trusting in them in the future. Our cat was yesterday feeling not well but I was not able to pay at that moment the X-ray and or ultrasound to see how we can treat well. If anything happening with my cat because I was not able to pay the animal hospital coz the Scotiabank illegally took the money Im Sue the Scotiabank for millions of dollars because I cant beat that persons badly who was behind this situation. The Scotiabank took me in very bad position and Im very angry.

Furious with Scotia Bank

From the time we signed up its been nothing but problems. Huge run arounds, staff that hangs up on you and wont deal with your issue. Nasty repetitive emails, phone calls and texts EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN RESOLVED BY US. BUT NO ONE EVER CHECKS THAT PART OUT. You Cant even get ahold of anyone to stop the barrage of crap. We tried but apparently its okay for the VP R. Anderson to continue to call, email, text and never talk to you about it. They dont trust you, they will never raise you limit on credit card and They CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO THERE. Nothing is free. Their account choices are ridiculous. If you have money? Youre not charged. If you have limited funds? Dont get an account here. They will drain your account dry..

Poor bank

Scotia bank has to be the worst bank I have felt with. They dont understand nothing when a person asks for something. They are brain dead and cant speak clear English. I asked for a one month grace on my loan. They agreed. Next thing I notice the idiots took out the loan payment a week later. Now they want to charge me for the one month grace . I refuse to pay . I will continue making my monthly payments thats all
