Verbally Abusive and Dishonest

After explaining the the sales assistance that I urgently needed a reliable vehicle due to my toddlers severe medical illness and very pregnant wife we found a nice looking car and I immediately placed a deposit with the promise that Konrad would be in touch to complete the transaction and arrange for delivery of the car. Days passed and, despite daily follow ups from myself, Konrad never reached out to me. Finally, after multiple efforts, Konrad did call me only to tell me that they sell "over 700 cars a month" and he went on to bizarrely ask me if I thought I was better than him after I explained to him that I could not pick up the car in person. That was a very bizarre thing to hear and I tried to explain to him that I work full time... but I was unable to get a word in edgewise as he simply yelled at me nonstop telling me to "take a train to Chelmsford" (despite the fact they had promised they would deliver the car to me). He began verbally abusing me at which point I asked for a manager. He refused and continued to verbally abuse me. All I wanted to do was buy a reliable car so that my pregnant wife and chronically ill child could have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency... and instead I received the verbal assault of a lifetime. I have seen lots of other reviews alleging that they are crooks. While that is likely the case, I can say for certain that they do not care about the customer. They seem like a band of thieves willing to band together to abuse a customer rather than do what is right as a business.

Unprofessional attitude from Saxton 4x4

We had booked an appointment for test drives for a SUV and had agreed the week before with the sales person that we would be looking at and test driving four different vehicles. When we went in today, we were informed that 2 of our first choice vehicles were no longer available. While vehicles can be sold at any time, the dealership and the sales person (Brett) should have informed us in advance of the same. When we expressed unhappiness about the same, the reason given to us was that we have more than 1000 cars - how an we keep track of every vehicle we have!! What an excuse from a car dealership. The overall attitude from the sales person and the dealership was of disinterest. When we escalated to the manager (Andy), there was a perfunctory apology with the excuse that we were very busy over the weekend! We had driven nearly an hour and about 35 miles to reach the dealership. Not only did we lose valuable time and money, but the overall experience was underwhelming. The overall attitude was that of them doing us a favor!!

I bought a Range Rover SVR for £82500 . I have a video from 6weeks of owning the car with slight white smoke . Im no mechanic but Ive have now been told this was the sign of my my head gasket going . A few months later my head gasket has gone the car is not drivable and according to the sales guy its my fault because I havent driven enough and it doesnt do the car good not to be driven . The car 33350 miles on it I have done 3000 . . Im now facing a bill of £4000 + and its my fault I didnt notice something their mechanic missed !! When I was buying the car the sales person couldn't do enough for me . His attitude when I called was disgusting and he told me it doesnt do a car good to sit and not be driven regularly. So does this mean they move their cars every week !!! The video Ive added is the car now . Also a few months having the car its had 2 lower arms replaced as well !

Car theft

Has anybody else purchased a car from Saxton 4x4, for it to be stolen from outside your registered house less than 3 months later? Its happened to us twice now, with Range Rovers. The first time, the car was found abandoned in Essex 2 months later (we lived in London) strange coincidence. They failed to provide the in control tracking information or even pass on it was an option, on both occasions. Police are under an investigation, but Im interested to hear if anybody else has experienced something similar.

Non refundable deposit

I was not made aware nor given amply time to read the terms. My wife and I put £1000 deposit on a car but then after thinking - bear in mind the sales tactics 20 min test drive, 10 min in office then paper work and figures and the sign here, here, and here. We changed our mind as I had a nagging thought about the car and company. We cancelled the order to be told the deposit is not being refunded. Even asked if I had placed the full, £13000 deposit would that have been refunded and the response was no. Got in touch with my bank to try and claim the money back. AVOID PLEASE

Worst Ever !!

Worst buying experience ever when purchasing a car. I purchased a Range Rover Vogue SE at a very expensive price, unfortunately the service received was not reflective of the price. Firstly I received a very low trade in price that I was not happy at but proceeded anyway, at this point I should have withdrawn. The sales procedure was difficult as I was told they were short staffed and negotiating resulted in a WhatsApp conversation?? This is new to me. The prices and services offered were very much at a take it or leave it level, never dealt with such an inflexible company. As this was a distance sale I relied upon Saxtons honesty in terms of car condition. I was promised the car was immaculate with a full years MOT. Unfortunately the car was far from immaculate and had been rush prepped at the last minute. I will list the issues found with the car after I got home and started inspecting the vehicle closer. Extremely poor paint work to hide cosmetic issues, they have sprayed all round the car with non metallic black paint, looking close is horrific and also has runs. Front drivers tyre had a large bulge in the side wall, this needed replaced immediately, they also allowed me to leave with an unsafe car to travel home on a motorway over 400 miles. The spare tire is flat with a rusty nail through it. The general cleanliness inside was an absolute joke, there was chocolate stains all over the back seats and centre console from the last owners, there was. Also food debris in pillars which had gone mouldy, the side door panels were stained, the sunroof cover is stained. The battery is needing replaced. I also need new suspension bushes. I am sure there was more issues. So you may be wondering why I accepted the car in this state, after a 400 mile drive to pick the car up I was very tired, the car also at a normal overview looked ok, until you start inspecting detail. The hand over was also an absolute joke, after driving all that way I was left in the showroom for over 40 mins. After this wait I was taken into the offices and made to sign all the paperwork again for some strange reason. I was also charged a retainer for not having a v5c, I was not happy about this, anyhow they charged an additional £500, the annoying this about this is they never had my V5C, how disgusting, could I charge them a retainer @?. I at this point was also assured all additional work had been carried out, e,g ceramic coat and under seal protection. The ceramic seal was potentially carried out, hard to say but the under seal was not. After under sealing several cars you know when its been done, I complained about this several times to no avail. After the paper work was signed I was given the keys and that was it !! After wandering about I finally found my car, no sales man to show me where it was or a walk round, nothing !! Never had a hand over like it. The bottom line is.. yes you can get a car from Saxton a few thousand cheaper but there is a reason its cheaper, they cut every corner in vehicle prep, charge you for services not carried out and also give you a poor trade in price for your car. I strongly suggest if you want piece of mind to go to a proper dealership where the appropriate checks are taken place and you will receive the proper customer care thats needed when making a large purchase like this. I am also sure I will get some smart comment by saxton below making out I should phone them to resolve my issues, well I can assure you I tried this and they simply do no care, they have my money and thats all that matters to them !! Absolutely disgusted from start to finish. Avoid at all costs.

Perfect and Ready to Go

Bought a 2019 Maserati Levante from Saxton 4x4 in May. I will try to just stick with the most serious problems or I could go on for weeks. When I went to see the car the salesman was ultra eager to get me to take the car immediately, can you take it now? When can you come? Obviously I had a few things to sort out for example the money. The single biggest issue was the fuel filler flap it didn't lock properly Saxton said they would have to fix it before delivery. Then they offered to deliver it if I was prepared to take the car into a dealership and have it fixed, it was a warranty issue so I agreed. The dealer fixed that problem (sort of) but made me aware of the reason for that problem was there was a big dent adjacent to the flap which was difficult to see until it was pointed out, they also mentioned a few other things one being a large scratch on the bonnet. This was mentioned to Saxton 4x4 who asked for the dealership survey which was sent. The dearest was £1100 and the cheapest was £460 (very good I thought). Apart from total denial of responsibility for the above and refusal to pay, below is a list of the most relevant and important promises from Saxton 4x4 I will deliver it to you free FAIL A free full tank of fuel FAIL I will arrange the road tax FAIL I will speak to my boss about a refund FAIL There were many other issues that would take too long to list, but I am sure you get the gist. Perfect and Ready to Go!

Sold damaged cars

I have purchased as Porsche cayenne with pressure few months ago from saxton. It was the biggest mistake i have made. I left a review about my experience and was called by the sales executive (abdul) within 24 hours to kindly remove it as it will effect his commission, after explaining my frustration of which i made apparent to him On collection of the car i had noticed number of poor respray and over spray during preparation of the car and have been promised this would be sorted out in the future but in favour wanted me to remove the review. (6 months later still getting no response). I car has also suffered 2 mechanical issues in my ownership which saxtone want know responsibility of. STAY AWAY from spending ££ on cars that may disappoint.

Bad after care

Updated by user Dec 02, 2020
nothing really has happened . need to speak to service team , no one is available . they called and said the onus is on us to take up with RAC.

Original review Nov 02, 2020
After care service is so awful. Paid 4/4 grand for extra cover for tyres RAC warranty, And breakdown . Not worth a penny when you have issues. Broke down today could not get a courtesy car on platinum cover, so RAC wanted Saxton to confirm the policy . no one got back to me and resulted in 9 hour wait and no resolution. Just emailed them at 9.30 pm . Best to go direct to a dealership and take out warranty with them , not worth spending money as they get commission . You buy a prestige car and the after care is beyond awful. So angry so dissatisfied.

Saxton 4 x4 bad experience

Don't use them I gave a deposit for a Porsche Cayenne gts and finance gone through fine, didnt hear from Saxton more than a week even though their website advertised as car is prepped to go same day, so I called, and they said there is something wrong with the car and will get back to me but again no one contacted me back so called again few days later and they said the car got big problem so I asked what kind of problem and they said they dont know and trying to sell me some another car and I said I didnt want other cars and I travelled long distance to come here. So I told them just give the deposit back and after so many phone calls and emails they gave the deposit back after 6 weeks :((

Lying salesmen

I purchased a used RRS in 2019, I was assured it had a full service history as advertised, after several months of being told it was being sent to me it never arrived, which means it never had it in the first place I trusted them but was lied to. Buyers beware

Misleading

Brian was trying to get us on a loan that will ruined our credit. They plane lie to try to get you to consolidate you cards. We are lucky that we are aware of those kind of practices.

Resolved: Best Avoided Dishonest Dealer

Updated by user Jan 10, 2020
Saxton collected the vehicle and carried out a complete repair then returned it within two days, result.

Original review Dec 11, 2019
I would advise that this place is avoided. I trusted the dealership and was sold a car with a known fault which I am arranging to have repaired through Mercedes dealership. They phoned me because they were not happy with my feedback on a survey they sent to me which is 100% honest, unlike Saxton 4X4 . When they called to complain about my feedback I suggested they cover the cost of the Mercedes dealership which they refused to do. The fault can only be repaired by Mercedes dealership. Also, from an admin perspective, despite telling them the car should be in my wife,s name they put it in my name, basic error. I had hoped that Saxton 4X4 might be the one dealership that one could deal with in an honest and trustworthy way, sadly not. There were others on the day, in their showroom, also complaining about being misled, enough said.

Do not use these cowboys

Made the mistake of not dealing directly with an authorised dealership (frankly land rover dealers are by and large bloody terrible as well but at least they stand behind the cars they sell). The discount you think you are getting likely isn't worth the trouble. April 2018 we purchased a "new" Disco 6 - this is not a cheap vehicle, cost was about 78,000 from memory but likely saved us 5g over a main dealer. However, before i get into the weeds, I've just had to spend £1,700 on fault finding where water started coming into the front of the car over the driver and front passenger. In a nutshell, the car was imported from malta, likely that the windscreen was smashed in transit and the replacement windscreen (which was not made known to us) hadn't been sealed correctly. For sake of ease i'll post the reply from the dealer. This was after having attempted to get them to look at the problem but after being ignored were then directed to go and have it checked out elsewhere. (The amazing warranty that came with the car clearly not worth the paper it's written on). ***** Good morning, I have had a discussion with my manager regarding your email. Unfortunately we will be able to cover the amount on the invoice you have sent us. Firstly anything that we pay would need to be authorised prior to the work being carried out. Also due to the length of time you have had the vehicle and we have evidence that there wasn’t a leak from the vehicle at point of sale, this also is why its something that we are unable to support. I do apologise that I cant give you better news but my hands are tied. Kind regards Mike Rogers Service Advisor Tel: 01245 35* 234 Fax: 01245 35* 212 Email: M.RogersatSaxton4x4.co.uk - So the weeds on this dealer; Customer service doesn't really exist. It's a cattle market in the showroom. That was both on the way in and post sale. Frankly once you are out of their hair with the car they frankly couldnt care less. Was thinking of prattling on about the service but no point. It's poor. We've then spent a fair bit of money (latest insult aside) actually getting the car to function properly (they forgot to do the internet registration / configuration etc.,) buying floor mats etc., We're also not altogether convinced that the electronics function correctly either (nagging doubts over the windscreen wiper setting etc.,) Whats really quite irksome is that when we try to get them to deal with a fault they have little to no interest. When we go elsewhere and they discover that the fault was due to the dealers poor workmanship in the first place we then get mugged off with the reply above. I particularly like the evidence they purport to have regarding how it didnt leak when they sold it.... Is there a does windscreen currently *** water where we've replaced it checkbox these days? In short, am annoyed with myself, if (the saving) looks to good to be true, it probably is.... Avoid.

Con men through and through

Bought a Range Rover Vogue and have had nothing but trouble as it broke down - yes BROKE DOWN - 4 times in 6 months and they barely helped me and wouldn't take it back. They were eventually forced to take it back by Santander the finance company, but they have decided to hang on to yet more of my money to cover some spurious trumped-up charges, so am now left with no option but to take them to court. They have also failed to refund a deposit, lying about the reason for it. Would be interested in hearing from others in the same boat. Absolute disgrace from beginning to end.
