Could not provide more options for a clip/magazine for a savage XP in a 223 caliber, or make it compatible with other guns in the savage series

QC on composite stock fail

97R17 barrel does not fit into the stock properly leaving a gap between the front end of the stock and gun barrel. Running a straight edge I found the middle barrel cradle was higher than the front an rear cradles. Standard we got your email was followed by two weeks of no response. A follow up mail was replied to with a send the gun to our gunsmiths in MA. The issue was clearly the stock and a simple replacement should have taken care of the problem. Im a lifelong gun owner at 72 and do not make any complaint lightly. Whatever has happened to Savage Arms and their customer service is beyond me. But one thing for sure, Ill never purchase another Savage!

No luck with savage rifles

I currently own 2 savage 17 hmr rifles I have a model 93r17 synthetic stock with stainless barrel I had to send it back to savage because of misfire issues.I called savage and they assured me this issue had been addressed so like a fool I bought another savage 17 hmr minamlist bolt action rifle while mine was gone for repairs.well the bolt in the rifle is the roughest working bolt after shooting it less than 50 rounds it takes 2 hands to get a shell in the chamber you have to take one hand and hold the clip in alignment and work the bolt with the other hand which is not a good practice for safety concerns.my nephew just bought a new a17 with the accutrigger and it will not adjust trigger pull down.Stay clear of savage made guns in my experience they are JUNK JUNK JUNK

Be cautious purchasing a Savage gun. I am trying to return one for warranty work and they are saying 8 months - 1 year.

Bought a 110 Magpul Hunter it will not shoot a good group. I have had 2 scopes on the gun, it shoots 3 good shots, then it starts to shoot everywhere.

I bought a savage 6.5 creedmore with a vortex scope 2 weeks ago. I was really excited to hunt with it this season. Took it with me and tried to sight it in. Found at 30 yards it would max out on the adjusting and still 2" low. Called bass pro and was told to bring it back. Took it back and was told they would have to send it back to savage to have it checked. Crazy absolutely crazy. 700.00 and I need to send it back due to a faulty scope. I opted to buy a better scope and eat that cost. What a disappointment!

42 in a 12 gauge or 20 gauge 410 isn't big enough

I'm hound dog hunter over and under shotgun rifles are the favorite for hound dog hunters sick of seeing all these chiappa guns 410 shotgun is not big enough the chiappa makes them a variety of calibers nearly every dog event they give one away I wish I wish Savage would make one that you could kill kill a mountain lion with in tall timber 22 hornet 12 gauge

Stay away savage sucks

Facts: I purchased a rifle (Savage Axis II,) roughly 23 months ago from a Savage Arms retailer (Big 5). 1. Within 2 months of purchasing, the clip would fall out of the bottom of the rifle. After contacting the manufacturer more than 10 times through multiple sources (online, social media, email and phone), I got Savage to ship me a new clip. However, the clip that was sent was used and did not fix the problem. 2. Within 9 months of purchasing, the rifle would misfire. 1 in every 5-6 shots, the rifle would simply click and not fire. The firing pin lightly struck the cartridge primer, but did not ignite/shoot the round. 3. Within 18 months of purchasing the rifle, the rifle shot a cartridge, however would not eject said cartridge, and that cartridge remains stuck in the rifle. Issue: Did Savage Arms breach their express warranty? Rule: A breach of express warranty occurs when a defective product violates an express warranty which was guaranteed by the manufacturer. An express warranty is created by the actions or overt words of the seller regarding a product. Analysis: Savage has a warranty good for a year. They have breached that warranty. A reasonable person would expect that for the purposes of shooting said rifle, that it would work safely and properly. Savage has failed to do that. The facts indicate that there are design flaws which prevent the merchandise from working safely and properly. Conclusion: Savage Arms has breached express and implied warranties and therefore is liable for damages.

The company won't take responsibility for their faulty products leaving the factory

They won't fix my receiver that was milled wrong. I can't scope the rifle, so it's about useless. My friends brand new savage has giant peens inside the chamber from the factory as well. Hopefully they'll fix that one.

Savage sold me a .338 Federal paperweight

I purchased my Savage MSR10 .338 Hunter at a hefty price. Now the only ammunition left is old and its been Discontinued. I contacted their customer service to see if they would work with me on making it a caliber I can actually use. I was told NO. Savage offered no concession whatsoever. I will never buy from them again. So much for their stellar customer service and support!

Jams while loading

Original review Jul 07, 2022
First off, let me say that I am shooting a 93r17fxp 17hmr. Consistently shot 3/4 inch groups at 70 yards using CCI ammo and a bipod. That said, now I am having a loading problem. Cartridges keep jamming whenever I am shooting. This happens with a full magazine of 5 rounds. Rounds 1 and 2 are consistently refusing to load. Have to keep working until they load. Usually after 5 or 6 attempts they load. Rounds 3,4, and 5 load without difficulties. Second problem, after firing 25 rounds my hand was black from soot and blowby. First time in all my years of shooting that this has happened. I have been shooting since 12 years of age. Am now 83. I will put this firearm away until Savage returns to work after July 8th. Maybe they will be able to address my concerns.
