Complaint about the lady who I believe is the manager now- The tall African American gal)

Went into the Salvation Army store at 360 N. Stephanie in Henderson NV on 5/29/2020.. I've been going to Salvation Army for years and know their procedures on buying. I saw 4 outdoor chairs that I wanted to buy, so I took the tags off of each and told the cashier I wanted to purchase them. She said just hold onto the tags until you finish shopping as they won't be sold without the tags. In the meantime I see the man that works there taking the 4 chairs in the back, so I questioned him. The mgr gal comes over and says the chairs have been sold. I showed her the 4 tags I had in my hand, she said sorry.I asked her how much she sold them for since they didn't have prices on them, she did not give me an answer. I called their offices on Monday morning saying I had a bit of a complaint. The guy that answered said a lady named Dina would call me back - I never have heard from her. I have been shopping at Salvation Army long enough to know that won't even sell you a picture frame, etc. without a tag, so I can't figure out why the gal sold those 4 chairs without tags?? Also, one other thing. Salvation Army must be losing so much money because they don't label the clothes into S-M-L-Extra L anymore. People who are looking for a certain size clothing don't want to spend an hour or 2 looking through all the clothes just to find a certain size.. Please go back to labeling the size of clothes on the racks;

Poor service

I was there earlier and I had a dress didn't I was short a dollar 99 and they told me the lady said that she couldn't give me a discount and when I went back up for happy hour to get the dress she said she told her for me the dress was gone I was very upset I never had this happen to me cuz I go there all the time and they have pretty much no me there so also I noticed that there was items underneath the registers with bags and clothes that the that belong to maybe possibly the associates or customers but I don't think they were customers because I'm parked out the store and everybody was still shopping but they could have put the stuff on your knees for the customer I don't know I'm very upset because I got bad I got bad they went under the register and looked and I've noticed bags I did not go underneath and I thought the shoppers the workers we're not supposed to shop in the store and I have a feeling that one of the associates bought the dress or took the dress because there was a Tory Burch and the lady told me she could only hold it for a half hour and I had to walk back and forth and then I had to go home and get ready and go back up there and see I went to the back of the store and she told me it was at the front register underneath the roadster which maybe she wasn't lying about but it was probably in a bag and I'm very upset because they're not supposed to be doing that thank you and I don't know if I'm going to return there

Sizes

I hate that you think its easier to put by color. I like to know where my size is then i go through them all. Not just 1 color. I have a life and things to do. I dont have all day to look for my size. I'll just go back to Goodwill. Plus yall have GONE WAY UP ON SOME OF YOUR CLOTHING. goodwill pants are a set price. Shirts a set price. . I really liked the salvation army store. But not so much now. GO BACK TO BY SIZES,,,NOT COLOR OR COLORAND BY SIZE.

Emergency needed bathroom

Dec 26, 2018 Went to Dixwell Avenue. Filled cart. I am long time customer. Just got out of hospital 5 days ago and felt an attack coming on. Needed a bathroom desperately. Female employee was hanging merchandise near locked bathroom. She said it was out of order for two weeks or more. I said...please ask manager if she can help me. I saw her speaking to a lady behind the counter who glanced over at me as if I had two heads...and then ignored me. I walked over to her and said can you help me please ....I think I'm going to have an accident. Maybe she could have made an exception....and let me use employees ...do something. But she shook her head no. I left my full cart and told her that it wasn't right they didn't have a public bathroom and I was going to call the board of health. She didn't answer me or seem to care. Just shrugged. Made my way over to the Dunkin Donuts next door on foot. I felt too sick even to drive. Thought I would pass out but managed to make it by the skin of my teeth.

Bad Treatment From A Store Manager!

My daughter works at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Wilmington, DE. Yesterday she was asked to leave after coming off from her break, for no apparent reason. The Manager refused to tell her or I, when I went to pick her up, what the reason was. He was very nasty, inappropriate, and unprofessional! He just said "Get Out", and he proceeded to call the police because she kept asking him "Why was she being asked to leave her job". Now I know this is not the way a Manager is suppose to handle employees, but this is how my daughter was treated. I will be taking this further because I don't feel that my daughter was handled properly . I can be reached at (856) 916-**** because I would like to talk with someone concerning this matter. Thank You for your time. Sincerely, D. Felton

No price on item.

I love to shop @ the Salvation Army.Even work @ one before. On this particular day 9-5-17.Montgomery,IL location I visited about10:30am.Employees greeted me well,so I proceeded to shop..I finally got to the bric-a-brac area, and found a silver non-stick skillet that did not have a price. I took the item up to the register as well as my other items I wanted to purchase. The first cashier stated that she cannot sell the item without a price. The manager of the store repeated the same thing to me and I asked can you please go in the back and somehow price the item ,because I really wanted it,she proceeded to tell me that it was their policy. Another gentleman stepped up to the counter with a piece of furniture a little small brown desk and stated that it had no price @ this time the manager walked him to the back and came back and ring him up. I proceeded to stand there to see was she going to make that transaction. I stood there just to see, she looked over at me and asked can I help you with something.(In a not so friendly tone, caught red handed) I stood there and I told her how can you make that transaction when you just denied me of my purchase without a price. she proceeded to go on and say oh well the furniture it's different because people take prices off of the furniture. I stated anybody can take a price off of anything. If this is your policy this should go for everything not just furniture at this point I'm highly bothered by the ordeal. I said that's not right that's not right. I left the store and there was a gentleman walking up I guess he was like a area manager that could come in and check on the stores periodically in the area.He was wear the blue sweater with Salvation Army logo. I proceeded to tell him my story and the gentleman that did make the purchase,I asked did he mind stepping over to hear what I had just experienced since he was able to make a purchase without a price tag and The gentlemen proceeded to say yes my item did not have the price tag on it so at that time I went back into the store with the gentleman that I had stopped that worked at the Salvation Army. The manager was headed back up to the front and I was talking with both of them and I was explaining the same thing she was contradicting herself at this time stating well it's just the policy and he was saying to his knowledge it was all items in the store that could not be sold without a price. I told them I've worked in management as well and I know how it goes and I understand I understand policies, someone clearly made a simple mistake. but if the price tag was already on the item I wouldn't have had to go through all of this agony. At this point her attitude had totally changed from when I first seen her walking around the store and greeting me, to being annoyed by the fact that she just violated her own policy that she clearly told me that she could not do.The gentleman that works at the store proceeded to tell her can you please go and accommodate this customer and put a price on the skillet he asked me did I still want it by the time she came back I wasn't quite sure, because I was still just very very annoyed myself. The the way she came back with the skillet was very distasteful when she handed it to me in my hand. Stating there u go in a unpleasent tone.At this point I didn't want the skill it anymore she went back and put the highest price on it which was $3.97 she did not try to accommodate me at all.As I attempted to leave the store, I told them it was all about the principle it wasn't about the money and it wasn't about the skillet. your policy should be your policy. I'm not quite sure if I'll ever go to that store again so you may have lost a customer Thank you..

Salvation Army Thrift Shop Staff Review

I am a regular customer at A Lincoln Park, Michigan Thrift Store. It's a great store to shop. The problem is with the help. Many times their is only 1 girl at the cash register. Long lines at times. It's irritating at times. I may have 2 items. Some have 10 items. It creates a negative environment to do business. This is located at Dix Avenue and Champaign. March 20,2017.

Salvation Army Thrift Shop - Sofas Review from Canal Winchester, Ohio

Lately the Salvation Army branch in Columbus Ohio locations on South High street have been selling some of their items for outrageous prices. They had sofas selling for $500 dollars, washers and dryers for $999.00 dollars, and an old stereo system for $799 dollars. There's no returns on any items sold. When did Salvation Army become a consignment store catering to antique Dealers? No item should ever be sold that expensive! Also, your not guarantee that any item is bedbug free!

Salvation Army Thrift Shop Customer Care Review from Overland Park, Kansas

The salvation army in my town is trash! The workers are bitter and never talk to you unless you go out your way to talk to them first. The prices are extremely high and if you ask them to lower it even a dollar less than the price stated, they will argue you down saying they can't. Really! This is used items that people are giving away for free! The workers steal items for themselves and family members and friends and give them super cheap discounts. If you contact the store and tell the managers this, they don't care. You know why? Because their doing the same thing! Goodwill and salvation army don't do anything for nothing but themselves. It's pretty much a retail store now. The homeless are still homeless and why is that? All the money that their taking daily from people, their should be little to no homeless people. Think about it people. It's time to stop shopping at salvation army and goodwill and let's see them crumble.

Ugly, insulting service

I never had problems with Salvation Army stores before until recently with the cashier in the store of 112, 4th Ave, Manhattan (04/06/2016). I always donate the items to that organization and therefore know that sometimes one can find really good things over there and for very good price. The people who work for those stores - even if they are not extremely friendly but they are always polite and civil. On 04/06/2016 (family day - 50% off except of certain color) I wanted to purchase 3 items. The cashier woman pulled out the label from the first item and told me that the price tag did not belong to it, so she does not going to let me to buy it. When I asked why? She replied that she is the one who price the items, so she knows. When I asked for the supervisor - she told me that she is the supervisor. So, she is the cashier, the person who priced the items and the supervisor - all in one. She told me that her name is Shatima. I asked her - if she is going to give me the other two items - and she told me an overcharged price. When I pointed to her that it is not the price accordingly to the price tags - she picked up already pulled off price tag of second item from the floor, told me correct price and dropped pulled tag to the bag with the two items she let me to have. This woman is relatively new - first time I noticed her as cashier sometimes on Wednesday in March of this year. That time I wanted two items and both were 50% off and she told me the same thing - the price tags did not belong to those items. I clearly could see that the woman obviously enjoyed to play "a bad boss" role and just loved to insult other people (if she could). When I told to her that I have to report her behavior and would place complain on the store - this offensive woman suddenly started to call me "mommy". It is the last thing that I would like to be called this way - by rude, insulting and vulgar woman.
