Accident

They was very nasty. They told me to do what I needed to do after the company was at fault of hitting my car and hurting me in the acc6

Refund

To many students not enough instructors. The school is not organized, and the instructors are bias. I understand that its a job shortest all over the country but the school needs structure first to work with a short number of staff.

I attended one in Lexington, SC

I attended Sage Truck Driving school and I had a bad experience. They let you go through the program and do nothing to help you especially when backing the truck. They do not care if u pass your CDL or not because they only care about the money. One of the instructors said "if u can't get your CDL, Zaxbys is hiring". So there is some nice print for u. They also say they cannot guarantee a CDL, which they can't but they do not train you.

I went to the school as well! The instructors were very professional and had more than enough material ! The simulator sucked but passed without any problems !

Better have deep pockets

They don't teach you enough to pass so they can charge you for more time...Definitely picked the wrong school..Started out the cheapest and ended paying more than any other school

Great School!

Sage Truck Driving School Rome, New York I received my CDL class A by attending Sage in Rome. My experience was perfect in that from the beginning I and others were easily set and scheduled for class. The classes were full of information but in a very relaxed class setting and small enough for total class involvement. Driving was also introduced with no pressure from the experienced team who brought us each step of the way to feel confidence in driving, shifting and maneuvers. The team easily identified our weak areas and focused on those areas to allow for a successful opportunity to pass the CDL test first try. Although the test takes some effort it is easily achieved when practicing the pre-inspection daily during your schooling. Understand that part as soon as possible and all the rest will fall into place and your confidence training will make you a success. From the director Jenn to her office assistants Kay Kay and Chase, they are the ones who will take care of your entry and welcome you to your new career. They are there to support you to the end. The awesome training team, Sarah, Dan, Jason and Terry will bring you the rest of the way and each are awesome and have a lot to offer and the patience to set you at ease. The entire team is fantastic with no pressure at all. The trucks are older but who cares, they worked perfectly for me and others and the range is just right to allow shifting practice, maneuvers and a safe space for the introduction to truck driving. After a certain time you and your trainer drive outside of the range and bring together all you have learned. Sage sets itself ahead of other truck driving schools in that you are driving one on one for your training and that 44 hours is a whole lot of training. I recommend Sage Truck Driving School in Rome Ny as they have been so attentive to not only me but the others who attended. Great price, Great instruction' Great school.

Best CDL training and a great trucking job

Went to Sage's Tampa truck driving school and they did an amazing job. The instructors are experienced and patient and really teach you how to drive. I am an Army veteran and have been through a lot of training, and Sage knows how to teach hands on skills. They give the CDL test right there at the school. After training I started with TMC which is a great company. When I went to their orientation and flatbed training they said I was by far the best driver compared to what other schools did. Highly recommend Sage!

Worst experience ever!

They lied about the training they provide. All you get for your money is a useless textbook, incompetant instructor, & a school director that does nothing but lie to your face. They don't train you, they leave you to teach yourself with youtube. They take your money & run. I wish I hadn't ever gone to school there, it's a total scam, worst school ever.

Horrible they lie in the orientation don't trust Tim or the

They were not honest and support of it .

They took my money and ran!

Save your money for somewhere else... low on testers... waiting forever to test.. every instructor teaches something different... come test day you take all the garbage they said put it together and fail because all of them taught you different things.. and you guessed it... more money out of your left cheek or right cheek take a pick because it’s coming from one of them if you want to get a CDL there...

SAGE Truck Driving School Billings, Montana

This past Thursday, I completed my Montana CDL backing and DOT road test in a SAGE Peterbilt w/belly dump trailer, at the Billings MT. SAGE campus. I have come away with deep respect and admiration for the SAGE operation in Billings. Their Director Bill Carr, is an outstandingly dedicated professional. His leadership and his handpicked team of highly skilled professionals, are the best I have ever seen in judging a student's strengths, weaknesses, and then developing an immediate plan to mold those into a positive success. I can attest to spending less that 3 days with them in the truck and then passing the required DOT tests without a hitch. So, I am recommending, without hesitation, the SAGE Trucking School operation in Billings, MT. as an extremely positive experience in the Professional Truck Training World. Outstanding Leadership: Bill Carr Outstanding Instructors: George, Doug, Chris, and Berry All my best wishes, gentlemen. Sincerely, Michael J. Stephens FOB-Sula, MT

With great hands on support from the Sage Co. Western Director.

Following this post on your site and a subsequent call to the Company Headquarters, I was called back by the Western Regional Director. She was extremely professional and apologized for the actions of the drive instructor, she then went on to ask me if she could make...

Original review May 02, 2018
I had truck driving experience(M123/M125) in the Army but, 24 years ago, I had driven privately over 20000 miles coast to coast in the last 10 years in a 10 ton box van, but not in a 18 gear semi and a 53' trailer. I just wanted to get into driving for extra money and the fun of it. So I went to Sage in Missoula MT. and laid down about 1 grand for the truck rental and an instructor, to begin with. I got a defective truck and instruction that was sub-par. I went for my test and passed the pre-trip skills no problm and then could not ace the 90' back up dock. I was placed with an older instructor who was not trained in the art of training drivers, he had an extreme negative attitude that created a no win test/training environment in the truck. He would shout out shift, stop, too fast, stop instructions which were counter to performance. As I drove the truck with a 48' trailer through several test scenarios He would become so derogatory about my performance, and that I was not listening to him, it became a do as I say tutorial inside the cab. I got to the point of waiting for him to tell me when to shift, when to accelerate, when to stop, when to turn, when to signal. After 3 iterations of instruction by this negatively focused instructor , who by the way indicated to me that "everybody wants to be a truck driver and their are all just hot-rodders like you", at which point I told him in the cab we're done. I then headed the semi back to the school yard and ended our relationship with extreme predigest. I also called AMEXCO and put a hold on the last $500.00 payment for rental and instruction. I can add that the SAGE operation in Missoula is riddled with poorly maintained trucks (during my first state exam the brakes locked up on the trailer, and the passenger door was ready to fall off the tractor), incompetent instruction and a management attitude for max pay for minimum performance. I would, at all costs, stay away from this training site in Missoula, MT!!!!!

Lost in space

large local company has their guys training to drive and my class suffered. Driving should have been back to back and then CDL road test. Driving was too sporadic & i don't exactly have an eighteen wheeler in my back yard to play with. This scenario gets denied If you speak of it, goes hush hush. You gotta wonder how much they get paid to bring in the other guys to train and push us back. Sure you ask for more drive time, but at your own expense. I now have to find a company willing to finish additional drive time. how can you test with 4 hours once week?
