Your customer service and trying to register a product sucks!!!

I bought my ryobi weed eater 7/4/23. I tried to go online and register it and your website is baaaaaddddd. Couldn't get on to register it. I called the number you provide to register a product and sat on hold forever numerous times - I left my number for them to call back when they wern't so busy! NOTHING. Finally on the 21st I called and low and behold someone answered - which is another problem I have. Why do you put someone in customer service that can hardly understand or speak english - a very bad language barrier and very frustering to say the least. Then he wanted the serial number and insisted that on the weedeater there was a serial number indentified as such - wrong. I read him every number I could find - he said try the box it should be on there!! After 30 minutes of trying to find the numbers he wanted and trying to understand what he was saying I was so frustrated I just wanted to say forget it! He found it and said he registered it - I asked if he would send me an e-mail to confirm it was registered. According to him he could not do that. I should go online to Ryobi and check the status - after I had explained to him that website is bad kept giving me errors. Now I'm tickeling 80 and have owned many Ryobi products with no trouble registering or using them. I will be using the weedeater this week and pray to God I don't have the problems I had trying to register it. As of right now I will not be purchasing another Ryobi product - ever. Again I will stress the importance of having someone in customer service that speaks and understands Englisg. You are not the only ones that do this and I get pissed every time I deal with one and usually ask to speak to someone else because of the language barrier. I don't expect anything will ever come of this but I got it out of my system - thanks for listening. Thank You, Jan Volstad lyonsvolstad@***.rr.com 262-767-****

FAKE WARRANTY - DECEPTIVE TRADING

Don't tell people that there is free warranty of you are going to force the to go a service center where they will be charged $40. I bought the FAKE ryobi battery lawnmower and the right metal on the handle broke (can you believe it?) Ryobi say I cant swp it myself, but must go to a service center 50miles away and pay $40 to them to replace the $10part. SHAME ON YOU. This is a deceptive trade practice. I detrimentally relied on your FAKE promise of 3year warranty. you never informed us that we have to pay for the FAKE warranty. SHAME ON YOU, YOUR DECEPTIVE TRADING PRACTICE, AND YOUR FAKE WARRANTY!!! SHAME!

Horrible customer service and won't honor their warranty

I have been a Ryobi customer for well over 15 years, pushing 20 years and have only claimed warranty on two batteries the whole time. I tried getting two more warrantied out today and they denied because I have had two done before. Completely different batteries and tools. First two were for 40v and the two requested today were for 18v. Their products are getting more cheaply made and their newer batteries are trash. Don't offer a 3 year warranty if you are not going to honor it! That should be per serial number and not restricted to two times. That is a joke of a warranty and just *** off your loyal customers! Good riddance you trash company!!! Also, your customer service people and their managers are a bunch of rude uncaring schmucks!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT is an overstatement!

Updated by user Jul 09, 2023
I finally received a call back after I had to also find a complaint with the BBB. He offered to replace it – still haven’t heard anything for about two weeks! I’m also sick and out of pocket costs for lawnmower service..10 weeks!

Hello I have made attempts to reach your company. I have called on the following dates for 4/18,4/22, 5/3, 5/7, 5/14, 5/25, 5/27, 5/30, 6/3, and today 6/9.Emailed on the following dates: 4/21, 5/6, 5/14, 5/23, 5/24, 5/25, I finally received a generic response June 7! I have therefore filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and will continue to write poor reviews until I get a live person to call me back. I called and was put on hold for close to two hours each time then gave the option for a callback and still have not received one call back! The one service station in my area Stated they now have 120 battery operated lawnmowers in their shop waiting to be repaired! This is an absolute disgrace! Please call me back to get this settled. Thank youThe picture shows just one side of the only service shop within 15 miles and in state. Ryobi lawnmowers are lined up all around the building and inside!

40v line trimmer doesn" feed

For 3 days I 3 days of disassembled the head every 15 minutes to pull out the cord inside the head and then reinstaled cord aftet putting the head back together. I studied YouTube videos that showed the bump feeding the cord and one commented that the bump had to be pretty hard to get it to feed. Well, by the third time, I was getting pretty disgusted with the process and I'm sure the bumps would be seen as really hard. I quit trying for the bump feed and just decided to get used to the idea if taking a break every 15 minutes to screw around with this head. Must say, though that the 15 minutes it worked, it did a beautiful job Two nights ago I ordered a new head that uses plastic pieces instead of string. It isn't as precise as the string but it really ripps through weeds and brush. Sort of a hand-held hedge hog and it runs a full charge without having to stop for maintenance. Must say I'm a bit disappointed with this Ryobi tool. I have quite a collection of them ranging from drills to chain saws. Particularly like the pole saw which is a mini chain saw with good reach for tree limbs. Also have the shop vac which is great for vacuuming without a cord. The two leaf blowers don't do much for grass on my mower deck but power washer is really nice. Mine is a large yard and I do it all alone without help so I'll get use out of this modified trimmer but will drag out a few other non-ryobis for the grass trim. If you have a way to make the bump feed work I might buy another to use as intended. I bought this the fall before Covid hit and the two years following, doing hospice for my best friend, I didn't have time for anything but mowing. So have no idea where the receipt is. Think I bought it on Amazon or at Home Depot and this is the first time I've tried to use it. Sorry this is under the label of "pissed customer" because while I'm disappointed, I'm not angry. I'm a great fan of Ryobi tools. Thank you for checking back with me. Michele Otey 234-237-**** 6040 S Myers Rd New Franklin, Ohio. 44216

Ryobi is a total disappointment in product and customer service

I bought a 40V HP Push Lawn Mower and Charger operated Ryobi mower (in addition to many other tool)s In fact, the Ryobi salesperson happened to be at the Watchung NJ Home Depot on April 11, 2022 and helped me pick out all my equipment. Following my purchase he asked to take a picture of me holding all the equipment bc I went all in on Ryobi. RECEIPT ATTACHED Within a few uses of the mower, the battery became stuck, thus rendering it useless. More importantly it also made all my other tools, which also need that battery, useless. When I took it to home depot for repair I was told I would have to pay for it to be fixed even though I just bought it. I was also told there would be a wait time of a couple of weeks. I asked if I could borrow a battery in the meantime bc the one I had is stuck in the mower, but was told there is no such program and would have to buy a new one in order to use the other Ryobi tools I bought. Call me crazy but I bought the extra battery vs putting money into the home depot repair and used the other battery port to power the mower. Yes, it was frustrating, but at least I didnt have to wait three weeks to begin to maintain my lawn, which frankly affects me in a personal way, and especially considering the preparation that went into getting ready to do work in the first place. At the end of the season in November 2022 (pic attached) I took the mower to Home Depot and paid for it to be serviced bc I was only able to use the mower half the time I wanted to and needed the extra battery. I paid for it, they fixed it in about a week and I stored it for winter. Fast forward to Sunday May 1 2023 and I am ready to begin my spring cleaning. First attempt to mow the lawn and the battery is stuck in the mower AGAIN! FIrst try!!! Call Ryobi AGAIN and am told Home Depot is no longer their service center and that I need to drive 45 minutes to the Lawn Mower Shop Inc, 237 W Union Ave, Bound Brook, NJ 08805. I drive 45 minutes on a Saturday AT 12PM only to find the shop is closed "due to a personal engagement" (PIC ATTACHED). The only way to know this is to show up bc they didnt mention on their voicemail or website. Mind you this is the first Saturday in May, and the ONE place I can take my Ryobi mower is closed for a personal engagement. Ok, frustrated but willing to come back Sunday. Drive 45 minutes again as they are supposed to open at 10am. Employee does not open the store until 1023. I am texting them letting them know people are waiting but get no response (Picture attached). Clearly my issue is so routine that the employees tells me without looking at the mower to put it behind the 50 other Ryobi mowers that are in the queue to be worked on and to call her in 3 weeks!!! I cant do this again and be out of my mower and the battery for the first three weeks of the season. So, lets sum this up. I go all in on Ryobi. Within three mows the battery gets stuck in the mower. I buy a battery, go a whole season without one battery that is stuck in my mower and can only mow half the time, I then pay to get battery removed only for it to get stuck again on first use the following spring, drive 45 minutes to the place Ryobi tells me will be open on Saturday May 6 (the first weekend of May) only to find store closed, so I drive back next day to find store doesn't open on time and there are so many broken Ryobi mowers ahead of me that I cant get my battery or my lawn mower for three more weeks!!! I only wish I took a picture of the queue of Ryobi Mowers waiting to be serviced. Like dead equipment in a junkyard all piled up. I have called and asked Ryobi for help multiple times and have never gotten anythign but a finger pointing me in another direction. This is my sad story. Dont be like me and buy Ryobi.
