Terrible service

My dog Archie a black lab was boarding for 5 days while we were sway. When we picked him up he seemed fine Within 2 hrs he was. Ring and panting and having trouble getting up Wecalled RAH and was told to bring him to their emergency vets in Clifton. The checked him with a 105.6 fe er and serious blood and white cell count..he was on iv heavy medicine and pain killers and six hours later we. Rough him home.he is still in pain and I felt his fe er was rising again..one hour ago I called what I thought was his vet and after explaining how sick he is I asked to bring him in for a check up and help..I was rudely dismissed by a totally dis interested clerk and told to call back monday!Monday!! This has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE I hope the Director reads this and I hope I don't lose Mt handicapped daughter's dog because of this uncaring person. Julie Galiastro owner of Archie

NOT A ANIMAL HOSPITAL

I have to say I am so disappointed in the word Hospital in their name, my dog fell down the steps and hurt her back legs, it was 7:45 pm and I called my Vet who told me to take her to the Animal Hospital, now we all know Hospital means emergency correct, well I did that and walked in and I know there are people who are there with their pets for office visits and I am ok with that but I told the girl behind the desk who looked really confused or didn't know what "pain" means for an animal, I told her my dog fell down the steps and was in a great deal of pain, her response was do you have an appointment, I said excuse me its an emergency I picked the dog up off the floor and brought her right in like my Vet told me too. She said "I have to check with the doctor" wrong answer again, IT"S A HOSPITAL, I waited and 3 people went in before me for regular visits, than a person came in with a cat who had an emergency and went ahead of us again, I got so frustrated that I picked my dog up and went to the counter and said you should be ashamed to call this a HOSPITAL and walked out and left, DO NOT GO THERE FRONT DESK GIRLS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND SIT AND TALK ABOUT YOU AND GOSSIP INSTEAD OF TAKING CARE OF ANYONE, NOT PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS!!!

Poor treatment of my cat

My cat arrived at 8am for what we were told would be early morning dental treatment. We called at 3pm and the cat was still in a cage, the procedure not begun. She was without food or water since midnight and was greatly distressed

Bad job on a dental

Not my cat, but belongs to my one job. He was brought in for a dental today. As a vet assistant myself, I was excited to see how good his mouth would look after, since I know how dentals are done. When he was brought back, I opened his mouth in order to see everything (he is a great cat and lets me do this). What I see is a disappointment. I see partial teeth in the gums, meaning they didn’t fully extract the teeth, leaving only the roots in. This is very discomforting as leaving the roots in like that can lead to mouth infections down the road. It was an incomplete job, and now i’m Concerned for further complications down the road.

My Babies

I would trust any one of my pets with Rutherford Animal Hosp. More than once Dr Beeber, Dr Donzel and others have saved my dog's life. My Eva was thought to have been poisoned and went from 85 pounds to 57 pounds. Dr Donzdel and Dr Beeber did not think she was going to make it but guess what. He saved her life. My other Rottweiler Ellie had a mass on her chest actually erupt. She was on the brink of death but guess what. Dr Beeber saved her life with emergency surgery and a blood transfusion. The techs are kind and helpful. The girls behind the desk have been nothing but kind and thoughtful. Are these people sure they went to Rutherford Animal Hospl.

Do not bring your pets here

I would NEVER ever come here EVER again and I don’t recommend anyone to bring there pet here. My Dog was sick and had CHF one morning he could not breathe so I took him in. He was placed all day in oxygen tank to stabilize him. I was told To come back cause I wasn’t allowed to stay with him. I came back to pick him up and the vet told me HES DOING BETTER ITS OK TO TAKE HIM HOME. If he has trouble breathing then you can bring him to an overnight vet hospital. I asked her if I can feed him and her exact words were GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS TO EAT, MAKE HIM COMFORTABLE. I was relieved inside because I loved my dog so much. He was my son my everything. When we got home I put him on the floor to walk and he was walking like if he was drunk. I thought to myself they probably gave him something and he’s a little woozy. Another thing I noticed was that he wouldn’t look at me, he was acting strange. I thought he’s probably mad at me cause I took him to the vet. The next morning it was time to give him his medication for his heart and he didn’t want to swallow it. I was sitting with him in my arms on bed trying to give it to him. All of a sudden he throws up a little and starts peeing in me. As soon as that happened I knew he was leaving me. He gasped for air and I was shaking him and screaming his name. He became unresponsive. I called 911 and I was screaming at the top of my lungs. My baby left me. It was the most traumatic experience I’ve ever gone through. After a week I called this vet to let them know how upset I was. How dare they send my baby home knowing he was going to die without telling me me? They were okay to collect all this money but they didn’t have the decency to tell me he wasn’t going to make it? They knew he was going to die. I know this because I google on signs that show your pet ending stages and everything that my dog did wasn’t because he was mad at me or was drugged up from the vet, he was dying. So when I spoke to them and let them know how upset I was the head Doctor said well according to his chart the dr that discharged him told me don’t bring him home take him to a vet hospital he’s critical.WHICH WAS A LIE. They covered themselves because they knew. If they would of bedroom honest and tell me he doesn’t have much time I would of at least stayed up all night and said my final goodbyes. I had him for 12 years don’t you think I would of took him to another hospital for overnight care I asked the vet. His response was What are we God? Like he clearly was the devil himself because he knew my dog was going to pass away, Don’t bring your pets here Is my advice,

Rutherford Animal Hospital - Pet Medical Service Review

Disappointed and frustrated with this hospital. I was referred to this animal hospital by another Vetenarian Dr for cat Dental procedure. When I arrived at the hospital there were three girls Alexandra, Donna& Shaina at the front desk. I told them I am coming from the other clinic and was told to bring my cat here. I asked the "girls" behind counter to let me know HOw much it would cost Me before the Dr. sees my cat and does any procedures. All three ladies Donna, Shaina and Alexandra reassured me that I would get a free estimate prior to seeing Dr. No charge will be on me without prior authorization Alexandra added. I waited and then we were escorted to a private room. Then Brittany, enters the room and takes my cat weight and information I also ASked her How Much will this cost me she also told me that the Dr. will see me and give me a free estimate. At this point Four 4 young ladies told me I will receive a FREE estimate. Dr. Petrone then enters sees my cat and reiterated the exact same thing other two animal vets from two different hospitals told me and I already know my cat needs dental work in addition she adds She does Not know what causing her rash but she can give me estimate for dental procedures. After Dr. leaves Stephany came to room and hands me two bills one for $169 bill and another for the amount of $1,039.62 and tells me this is on the low end dental Estimate. Confused I asked why did no one tell me there was a charge for office visit or how much! Donna said "l should have known free estimate did not include Office visit ," but when I asked How much this visit would cost NO one told me including herself that I would be charged for office visit or how much! I was told all four times answer was always FREE estimate? Then was told to wait to speak to office manager. After another hour wait Alexandra came and told me Office manager could not see me that it was a miscommunication and i was still responsible for bill, then Shaina adds that they did not tell me how much office visit would be because they did not know what the vet would charge? After an already 8 1/5 hours waiting to see two Dr.s in ONe day and having dragged my poor cat in a carrier for this long I decided to pay reduce bill and leave. Needless to say I will not be returning to this hospital. I feel like I just got screwed. Shame on you Rutherford Animal Hospital in your poor policies Not to inform clients of Office visit charge ahead of time and confuse clients with free Estimates statements.

Ringworm

I adopted two kittens and took them to Rutherford Animal Hospital for a routine checkup. We saw Dr. Sing who diagnosed one kitten with ringworm. If you have never dealt with ringworm it is such a huge pain and is highly contagious to other pets and humans. Dr. Sing only wanted to treat the one kitten that showed signs of the ringworm instead of treating both cats at the same time, even after i mentioned i could not keep them separate. Long story short, i went through a month of treatment for the one cat and brought her in for a follow-up visit to be told by Dr. Sing that she looked clear (she did not perform a culture to confirm) and was all good to go. Seeing as she was a doctor i assumed since i followed all her advice and spent hundred of dollars on treatments that everything was better. Three days later i noticed a spot on my other kitten who had not received any treatments which turned out to be ringworm. I came in for an emergency visit and saw Dr. Sass who took the time to explain everything about ringworm to me and said both kittens should be treated at the same time and multiple treatment methods should be given. She also said that the kittens will not be considered clear until they receive 2 negative cultures. So long story short, Dr. Sing did not properly treat my kittens and cost me hundreds of dollars and multiple days off from work. My 2.5 month ordeal could have been over after 1 month if Dr. Sing gave better advice. I had to bring the kittens in for the weekly lime dips during this 2 month process and the front desk staff was friendly and kind. I was worried about leaving the kittens there all day but never had any issues. I just called to make an appointment to bring the kittens for their final culture and requested Dr. Sass only to be told she has left the practice. I said I would see a different doctor as long as it was Sing.

Wonderful Experience

After my dog got hit by a car I thought that would be the end of him. Dr. Beeber and staff went above and beyond to take care of our family member and I couldn't be happier. The process and costs for surgery and aftercare hospitalization were transparent and expectations were set before any treatment began. I would highly recommend these folks any day to a family member or friend. I can't even imagine going through this entire process with any other group of folks. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Dr. Christina Chiang from the Rutherford Animal Hospital is an irresponsible vet

I took my puppy boxer only once cause our regular vet was remodeling his place and our puppy needed her next vaccine. Dr.Christina Chiang was the one who saw her and told us a bunch of staff and recommended meds and set of vaccines that Kitana our dog supposed to get again. She stated that she needed them because the time past between them was too long and therefore it was a most. Kitana was three months old, also she gave her the rabies vaccine for 1 year. Today we went to the town to get her licensed due to town regulations. The town told us that her vaccine was not good because it expires in September and to get the license, the vaccine must expire at least in November. We called the Rutherford Animal Hospital and we were told that the doctor did not recommend to get her vaccinated a second time because she was a puppy and her next vaccine would be in September 4th. So we explained this to the town and they ask for an Exemption letter from the Animal Hospital so we went there and they refused to give us one under the excuse that Kitana wasn't sick so she did not qualified fpr an exemption letter. From the start the assistant in the front desk told us that the doctor was too busy. Lets keep in mind that Kitana is now 9 months andnot a year old yet and they are health providers and for their services in the only visit kitana had in this place, my husband and I paid around $300.00. I told her what I knew; we had today till one to bring that letter or wont be able to get her licensed which may cause problems latter due to the fact that she is walked everyday and could get fined so of course she needs that license. She told me " I don't know what to tell you". I told her that whoever wrote the mission statement of the hospital was lying because their actions right at that moment were showing the contrary. She again told me that the doctor was too busy to write a letter. and I said: "Well she has many vet assistant here to write it and her to sign it" then she went: "Sorry, we cannot write any letter". I asked her : 'When I called you or whoever answered the phone told me that the doctor did not recommend another vaccination. and you are telling me you cannot provide me with a letter that says states what she said so I can get my dogs licensed? Then let me speak to her. She told me that IF I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE DOCTOR I MUST PAID FIRST. what???????? you told me not too long ago that you could set up an appointment after one o'clock which doesnt help me cause the town closes at 1 today to get my dog vaccinated which the doctor doesn't recommend. I am then need to speak to her first anyways. So she stood up and went inside. 5 Minutes later she came back saying that the doctor was too busy and cannot help. This place has a mission statement that goes like this: OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE OUR PATIENTS WITH THE MOST MODERN, "HIGH QUALITY", COMPASSIONTE VETERINARY CARE, EXCEED OUR CLIENTS EXPECTATIONS AND BLAH BLAH BLAH Dr. Christina Chiang REFUSED to faced us and answered our questions, our request for a letter that she brought upon herself with her statement and therefore then turned her back on this patient. She really is not prepared to be the vet that this hospital professes to have in their staff. I am not only disappointed but upset that the lack of professionalism and respect tor patients and pet owners who pay high bills out of their services. I can only say that this has been the greatest proof for me and all who in the future could suffer the consequences of these people"s actions. How is it that a so called professional vet sates that a puppy cannot be vaccinated against rabies twice in a year but its incapable to put it in writing and then offers to get that puppy vaccinated for the town going against her own recommendations. IS THIS THE KIND OF VET ONE WANTS FOR THEIR PETS? IS THIS A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE? DOES THIS EXCEEDS ANYONE EXPECTATIONS?????? CHRISTINA CHIANG DID CARE PUTTING MY PETS HEALTH AT RISK INSTEAD OF PUTTING HER OWN WORDS AND SUGGESTIONS IN WRITTING SO MY PET COULD GET HER LICENSED.

Rutherford Animal Hospital

The worst animal hospital ever. Since she was a rescue, I was told to bring her to Rutherford for her spay. They gave me a spay voucher for low cost spay. I thought no problem because they do them all the time. They botched my dogs spay and I had to take her to Maywood Vet, my regualr vet, to save her life. I called Rutherford four times during the week after she had her surgery concerned and they just blew me off everytime. Did not ever tell me to bring her in so they could examine her. By one week after she was in so much pain I rushed her to my regular vet, Maywood veterinary clinic. They had to perform emergency surgery on a Friday to save her life. She had a hugh blood clot from a botched Spay surgery that Rutherford Animal Hositpal. did. They would not take ownership of what they did and all they did was try to cover themselves saying they did nothing wrong. I will never ever step foot in that place again. And Dr Beiber is one of the worst. Does not care about the animals. Just cares about protecting his image and making money. If you truly love your pet, do not ever take them there.
