Cancelling my policy

I have had Root Auto Insurance for the past few years. But, it expires August 1st. I was quoted a 6 month policy premium of $1,526 to continue my policy till February 1st. So I need to cancel my policy as I have already gotten coverage from another company. Your website is difficult to access in order to cancel a policy. That has to change.

Filed previous complain prior to adding an account. Unable to obtain copy of complain.

This has to be the worse auto insurance. On May 11, 2022 I was involved in an accident with a student driver in a GSA automobile. It was the student driver's fault but because I had crossed a double line to get to the main street, the instructor insisted it was mine. A claim was filed by the GSA with Root Insurance for damage repair to their vehicle. I received a copy of the claim from GSA making me responsible to the claim. After numerous attempts to speak to a claim adjuster, I was finally able to speak to Jamal Ross. I received a letter from him to advise me that he required additional time to investigate the case. By the end of 2022 I had not yet received any correspondence from him. I kept getting threats from GSA. Kept calling Root. I was finally informed that Jamal Ross was no employed. Another adjester assigned to my case would contact me. Needless to say, I never got a call. Gsa kept adding interest and fees to the claim. I kept trying to speak to somebody at Root. After several calls I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was informed that she was too busy and would return my call. Never called. Stopped getting any correspondence from Root until May 2023 informing me that my premiums wee now doubled. I assumed it was becaused the GSA claim had been resolved. I did not renew my policy instead obtained insrance from a different company. On June 10,2023 I received a notice from Continental Collections informing of a debt collection from GSA for $520.27. This was the interest and fees charges included in the claim which Root had failed to pay. I was unaware that Root had even paid any of the claim. Now am faced with the threat of the GSA filing a derogotory collection on my credit history, When I attempted to contact Root via email, I was unaware that it would be through this website. I'm hoping the email was delivered to them. Pissed? You bet!!

Need to know if I will be covered on the 15th, it says cancel on the 15th but Im short a little bit on my card until morning so I need to know if I will be covered on the 15th so I know if I will have time to put the rest on my card. Have charged me $1,276.30 for 4 months w/ NO COVERAGE

ROOT INSURANCE IS A SCAM!!! They charged me not only a monthly premium fee of $248.67 x 4, but then has billed me randomly throughout each month since April $50 x 3, $25 x 4, 31.62, to the sum of $1276.30 after denying me coverage. When I emailed them because you can't get anybody on the phone, they said I need to send a form letter of canceling coverage. Why is that Root, you denied me coverage, why do I need to cancel it? You're underhanded, way of making a few bucks earns you the *** STAR of the year!!! As the BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY! Don't sign up for Hi Road, they claim to find your insurance coverage. No, they don't, and they actually did the same thing, but I caught it right away. Then, when I explained I didn't even get the car, they still charged me a premium, FOR WHAT??? I never had the car, was never needing coverage. Worst part about all of this, is the only reason they denied me coverage was because I had a car accident last year that was my fault, first one ever. A fraud claim had to be filed with my credit card company to get the charges to stop.

Very Scandalous and misleading

Had to change my payment information due to loosing my debit card. In the agreement once you change the information is it may take a couple days for the update I didnt have a couple days before it may have canceled. Not knowing that it had been taken out after it continuing to try and use my old info I went ahead and made my payment. No luck in getting refunded the xtra payment plus auto pay cant be turned off either. Good LUCK

Unable to contact

I requested my policy cancelled as of my most recent renewal date due to the fact I found insurance elsewhere for literally half the price of Root. I was still billed and the only way to reach anyone is through email. It's been about 4 days now with not even a we received your email and will get with you soon.

Change coverage, and name

Bad website, no number, for customer support keep getting rd.side assist. Ozzie was the most helpful, everyone else either could not talk English very well or got disconnected any no call back either 563-663-****, when every single person asked my #? It happens to be my day off and I spent from 10 o'clock this afternoon. Tell almost 10 to 5 here's going on trying to deal with your company and your app on the website and download pictures that I can't do and call. The bank to confirm I have full coverage insurance not liability buddy Please lower your prices please list a customer service number with questions and please make it easier for your customers without paying an arm in a leg two hundred and ninety six dollars for full coverage insurance is ridiculous

Unlawful charges

I never took possession of the 2012 Toyota Cant get anyone on the phone for the last month and I am still being charged 232a month I expect a full refund of $464 and cancel coverage

Unpaid clim

I found a new insurance company a c'pla years ago. Company name: Root insurance. They seemed to have fairly low rates so I gave them a try. What a mistake! On August 11 2022, thieves helped themselves to my catalytic converter. I called police and filed a statement. The adjuster appeared to be on the case. He said a check was sent out on the 15th and it would take 7-10 days to get to my mechanic. The mechanic showed me the part. He had it delivered to his shop. The entire muffler with converter attached. However he never got the check and as I expected, he wouldn't do the work until he was paid. As it should be. Now, I'm not wealthy. I can't afford to take 2 days off work, much less 10! Other insurance companies I've been with tend to settle claims much faster. But this company obviously doesn't want to pay because they've made it clear they don't care. My premiums are paid on time every time since I have auto-pay. All I can say is if you are a Root customer, cancel that policy before an incident happens. Their policy is: take your money and avoid paying claims. This is the worst insurance company on planet earth! Run!

I need proof of insurance in my roots site.

Why is hard for you company to email me proof of insurance to showing to the police if they ask me for proof of insurance, I already paid for six months I need proof, please do your job. Isnt good feeling driving without proof of insurance, I expected to you email me that proof of insurance, right now.

Horrible experience

I called for a quote regarding an auto policy for a vehicle I would get delivered by carvana 3 weeks later. I asked for the policy start date to start in 3 Weeks as I didnt even have the vehicle, so obviously I dont need coverage. Fast forward to the day I receive my car. I picked it up with barely any charge, leading me to break down before I reached my home to charge. Needless to say I called root because I already needed help considering I was stuck on the side of the road, car has no power. They assigned me to 6 different tow trucks, and every single one marked the job complete and never even showed up. I waited for 3 hours and nobody ever came. The only thing they would tell me is you will have to pay $99 because the tow isnt covered. I never even seen a tow truck and wound up calling a 3rd party and paying out of pocket anyways. So at this point Im livid and cancel my insurance. They inform me I wont be getting all my money back because they started charging me from the day that I called for the quote!!! So I am forced to pay for 3 weeks of coverage, despite not even owning the vehicle yet. I made it very clear I wanted my coverage to start on the day I get my car. These people are useless frauds.
