Elder Abuse

My husband who is 82 years old got locked out of are house and stuck in the back yard. I was told 19 to 45 dollars and when the guy asked my husband for payment they charged him $280.00 in cash and would not take his credit card. This event has caused my husband severe anxiety, which s causing him to feel ill. I will file a report to the Elder Abuse web site to stop this company from this extreme abuse of the elderly and others. this company needs to be shut down by government agencies. They used a key to unlock the door and walk about five feet to the back door to let him in. The fee is outrageous.....

Charged double the local rate for unlocking a bedroom door

I lost my keys and was desperate to get into my room on a Sunday night. Calling Rock a Locksmith, who goes by 24 mobile locksmith in my area, was a huge mistake. The guy who showed up claimed he needed to drill the door to gain entry. It cost $420. total including all their fees and labor. No parts involved. He did not need to drill the door. He just took advantage of me. Someone needs to shut this organization down. I have the receipt that the guy gave me. How do they stay in business? The going rate around here is about $165.00.

Overcharged & Substandard Parts

At time of installation of my new front door deadbolt and *** I'm shown a photo of a Brass lock *** & deadbolt) with a price of $350.00. Then, I get hit with $325 in labor costs. This is my first time getting a professional installation and I didn't know any better. The installer wanted CASH, didn't give me any receipt showing ANYTHING but a payment. Not even what it was for. I keep calling RAL and they keep NOT sending an invoice. 30 days later, the "brass" *** fails and I'm locked out. A friend of mine who is in construction said "this equipment is cheap. You can get it at Home Depot for $60.00". Ripped off. DON'T USE ROCK A LOCK.

Worst service, did more damage than repair. ROCKALOCK IS TERRIBLE

Worst and most expensive "fix" ever. Do not call. Customer service is terrible, no return calls, and when I finally tracked down the locksmith he offered to fix but it "will be worse". I sent an email with the damage, called to see if they got the email. "we will check it when the manager comes in" I told them I sent it to "clali@***.com" and the guys says "that's Service in Hebrew", WTF does that mean? And if it does mean service in Hebrew, they sure don't stand up to it. DO NOT USE EVER. SCAM ARTISTS!!! I should've read the reviews...

Damage to ignition while exstracting with a drill

Called for service on 9/12/13 10-11am westco gas station on W MacArthur/West st technition name Tal destroyed my steering colomb taking out ignition switch broke 5 drill bits. Cuss me out took my money an drove off. (short story)1977 Lincoln TownCar. Please call 281 854-**** email dd.tillis@***.com I called the number of company they said there was no manager and somebody would call me back. called back several times they said we are a mobile service and have no office. Rock a lock Locksmith what a ripoff

I called and they lied about the fees, saying it would be flat rate $25. Then, when they arrived, they were charging $90 to BREAK the door or $200 to open it without breaking it. I told them I wouldn´t accept it, and told them to leave. They charged me anyway $20 for the "service" (what service???? didn't even try to do anything!!!!!!). At last I told him I wasn´t going to pay so he tried to open the door (without breaking it), which was "so difficult"- it took him less that 10 seconds. He finally charged me $70 because "he didn´t want to have any more trouble". I called the boss - even bigger scammer !!!!! He completely lied to my face. PLEASE NEVER EVER CALL THEM !!!! TELL EVERYONE!!!!! SUCH A SCAM.

RIP OFF! THUGS. STEER CLEAR.

I locked myself out of my apartment. On the phone they indicated it would cost $45 to unlock it. After the guy picked the lock (in 15 seconds) he demanded $200, insisting that he told me the price in advance. In an ugly scene which included a phone call with his boss, I compromised at $100. I should have call the cops but I didn't have the number handy and I feared future victimization. He didn't even have a formal invoice/receipt or truck. Just a crook hooked up with an outfit who paid to be listed first on google. Outrageous!

$160 Charge for Less Than a Min Service, No Receipt

I called to have my daughter's car opened at a Lucky parking lot at 7:05 pm in San Jose, for she locked her keys inside. When I asked about the price, the man answered the phone named Jack said Rock a Lock charges $19 service fee plus $29 for labor (DID NOT mention starting at $29, only afterwards when came back to complain), i.e. $48 total. The service man came within 10 min as promised and opened the car in less than a min, but charged $145 for labor plus $15 service fee, with no receipt given. That price is 2-3 times as much as any other locksmith in San Jose, while national average for the same service is $62.

Price ripoff

These guys are ripoff artists. They quote one price over the phone and then charge another price once they are in your house. Then, afterwards swear that no one from their office makes quotes. Instead of the $79 quote, the technician asked for $400, which my wife said she could not pay. Then, he said he'd settle for $200 (for ten minutes work). That's a royal ripoff. If you need a locksmith, I'd suggest you call another one. These guys don't care and then defend their prices by saying that they are professionals. I would say that they are "professional ripoff artists."

Rock A Lock Locksmiths Charged $100 for mailbox lock

I lost my keys and had to begin work at ten am. I was also trying to get a relative into the hospital via phone and PG&E was on it's way because all of the lights in the building were flickering. I chose Elite Lock and Key because their half page ad said they offered a 20 minute response time. I called at nine am. The man said someone would be right out. At twenty minutes to ten I called, someone was on the way. At ten thirty I called and was told that he (the main man) was already on a job and could send someone else if I needed someone to come right away. I didn't want someone else to come because I wanted the real locksmith to show up so I said I'd wait until twelve ten when he said he could be here. At twelve five, with a client in my office, the doorbell rings. I excuse myself and answer the door and discover that a backup man has arrived and he offered no explanation for why the man who said he'd be there didn't come. I told him I needed a key to my mailbox made and the doors in my office re-keyed. I suggested he start downstairs with the mailbox so I could finish up with my client. He agreed and said he might have to replace the lock entirely. I said that would be fine since I couldn't get into my mailbox without a key. I finished up with my client and the locksmith was finishing up as well. He looked at the doors with locks and said he'd have to replace the locks. I told him I knew that those locks could be re-keyed because I'd had it done before. He said he was just filling in and that he actually had his own business somewhere else because the owner was busy. I told him I was going to call another locksmith to re-key my doors and asked him for the bill. He gave me the bill. Here it is: Service call: 35. (it says $25 in their ad) Labor uninstall and install and open: $65.00 New lock: $100. Total with $8.00 tax = $208 I told him I thought a hundred dollars for a lock was high and he said it wasn't. I also questioned a service call fee when he was already charging me for labor, installation, and opening the mailbox. It took me three hours and five minutes to get the backup man, not the shop owner who said he was coming out) instead of the advertised twenty minutes, which they even promised when I called! I believe the backup man just charged me what he thought I could afford and I had no choice but to pay him. I called Dennis at Vallejo Lock and Key, who was there in twenty minutes and he had three locks re-keyed in about twenty minutes. He said the locks didn't need to be replaced. I had to keys made for each lock. The bill: Six keys: $63.56 If you need any locksmith work done call Dennis at Vallejo Lock and Key, he's great and his prices are very reasonable. Avoid Elite Lock & Key unless you have time and money to throw away. End of the story: Elite Lock and Key sent Rock A Lock without asking or telling me. When I tried to get my credit card charged back some of the $100 for the lock, Elite kept hanging up on me, Rock A Lock kept telling me they'd find out about it and call me back, they never did. I finally called them from an unlisted phone so they answered and the man told me his service man got the bill mixed up and it should have been $100 for labor and $65 for the lock ($8.98 lock). I told him I questioned the man about the lock price and he said it was $100. He said he couldn't do anything so I told him that was O.K. because I would just file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the California Consumer Protection Agency and then I said, "Good-bye" and started to hang up. He told me to wait, asked if I had my credit card there, I did, and gave him the information. He said he was putting $60 back on my credit card. Still pricey for a lock but at least I got something.
