Warranty- Flooring

Thom Carroll and Jada Washington delaying my floor replacement based on a mistake Rite Rug made and will not own. The wrong floor was brought during the install. If Thom would have been present he would have saw it was the wrong floor but now they are putting it on me to prove it. Jada accused me of fading floors with the cleaning products I use. I didnt take a picture of the floor brought out and thats my mistake. Ive sent pictures of my floors, the flooring information on my contract and now they wont return my phone calls.

Terrible product and service

We bought a spec home and had carpet conditions on our original walk-through. Carpet did not reach walls and wood floors creaked. Rite Rug stretched carpet and put small nails in floors but the problems still exist. Now we have been in our home for 3 years and the carpet so crushed we need to replace it. Getting the run around from customer service. Incompetent customer service and poor workmanship.

Stay away from this company

They pieced in carpet when a single piece should have been used, then claimed my seams were showing because of moisture and refused to fix.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - AVOID RITERUG

WORST INSTALLATION EVER - STAY AWAY I had carpet installed by RiteRug (Strongsville, OH) just before Thanksgiving 2019. It was the most amateurish installation I could imagine. Every room had issues with several places where the carpet didn't even go up to the wall and the floor below it was visible. Bad seams, and bad cuts which they tried to hide by stuffing some extra fibers into the cut. Plus they broke the leg off a nice book case. And they took the remnants after being told we wanted them. For $5500 I expect a little better than this. After a lot of complaining they finally sent another crew out, but all they did was stretch the carpet a little. After a lot more complaining they finally sent a manager over to look at it. Then they brought in another crew. They fixed most of the problems but there is still one doorway where the floor is exposed, and one seam that is all to visible. At this point I cannot get them to respond to my phone calls even though I have been patient and cordial. It looks like I have no choice but to try to contact the corporate office or persue legal action. My advice, stay away and go somewhere else.

Would not recommend to any one

They came out and replaced the flooring in my house and did not pull base boards. They ran the flooring to the base board and put quarter round down. When I told them I did not like that I was told that is the way do it.part of the job was warranty but I paid to have flooring removed and replaced in other rooms. Very disappointed

Seams separating through out house, hired fake inspector to come to house

Carpet falling off steps and seams separating through out the the house, fake inspector says its because of our puppy OUR DOG IS ALMOST FOUR YEARS OLD AND HAS NEVER PEED IN OUR HOUSE. We have a lite color carpet and would see spots, and would have a major odor issue.

Do Not Use This Company

This company made a mess out of my home. Installed different shades of carpet throughout my home. At first tried to tell me I had to deal with their manufacture. After constant disputing they finally admitted they picked the carpet from different lot numbers. That was in December. It is August and I am still dealing with their bad customer service. They do stand by their name. Customer Service is incompetent. Trust me when I say you will regret using this company. Go to Home Depot or Lowes or anywhere else. They will sell you on a price, but if you have a problem they are done with you. Michelle Thomas

Thiefs

BEWARE- I went to Rite Rug in Lewis Center to get a second estimate on getting my hard wood floor installed. I honestly didn't like the smug and arrogance attitude of the guy when I walked in...but I sat down with the store manager named Paul and talked with him. I left my purse sitting there on the floor beside me on one side...my 14 year old on the other. I had CASH for the flooring I was going to purchase in an envelope in that purse (over $2500) Then we walked over to the corner to look at some samples and I got an important call and had to leave quickly. Forgot my purse there at the desk...Today they quite rudely said they didn't have it and "didn't care" . So my theory here is that if you ADMIT that you found someone's purse...then that also holds you liable when ALL the cash is taken out of it. So its best to just say you never SAW it...so then it is acceptable and OK when one of your employees drained it dry... I had CASH for the flooring I was going to purchase in an envelope in that purse. I did a report and got a police officer to go in with me..but they cant force them to give it back!! The business that I was at just prior was nice enough to pull security that showed me paying with the purse and pulling out of their lot. This is the ONLY place I went after the security showed me leaving with my purse at the last place. ....Quite a fishy story here. Especially after the guy said "he didn't care" on the phone when I tried to explain what happened..who I dealt with..etc. So here I am...no ID...No credit Cards...NO Check Book...NO Social Security cards for me or my kids....NO MONEY FOR THE FLOORING I WAS BUYING from them jerks- NOTHING!! Received a call back from Theresa Burgess at Corporate who told me they couldn't help me. I am looking into getting a news reporter out for a story and seeing if charges can be filed now.

DO NOT USE RITE RUG FOR YOUR FLOORING NEEDS!!!!!! The installer texted me when they were on their way and I asked them to pull

The absolute worst install!!!!!!! What a mess I have at my house!!!!!! DO NOT USE RITE RUG FOR YOUR FLOORING NEEDS!!!!!! The installer texted me when they were on their way and I asked them to pull around back and park in my space in the back. However 3 guys arrived and they had parked in the front off-street parking. I asked them again to pull around back but instead they started to unload material ... only after I asked them the THIRD time did they pull their work truck around back (I think only one of them spoke english) ..... I only wish I had sent them on their way then because they continued with my install of vinyl plank and it is a MESS .... ripples throughout; end seams are not butted together smoothly; staples from the luan below are poking up through vinyl .... HORRIBLE INSTALL!!!!! These guys had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE how to lay vinyl flooring. This was a very simple rectangular install with no walls AND THEY STILL SCREWED IT UP!!!!!!! Not to mention how unprofessional they were ... they had their music blasting the entire time ..... and if that wasn’t enough, one of the guys was singing off tune to the music the entire time!!!!!! If they had paid as much attention to the install as they did their music, maybe I would not have such a mess at my home!!!!!!! DO NOT USE RITE RUG FOR YOUR FLOORING NEEDS!!!!!! I only gave 1 star because I had to in order to post this review. It should be rated as -100!!!!!

Failure to Pay Wages

I worked for RiteRug Flooring Co. for one week and completed 2 projects. I hired a worker and was unable to pay him because RiteRug never paid me. The first week they said I'd have to work a week and a whole. The second week I was told there was something wrong with my employment documentation. The third week I was told that they're "still trying to reach corporate about my paperwork". I was told be an employee by the name of Victor Cruz that I could meet him at their office on a Saturday that they were closed at 10am. Victor stated that if the company was unable to get my paycheck he would pay me in cash and that I could just sign the check over to him once I received it. I agreed and when I went to the office on 12/15/2018 there was no one there. Victor did not answer any of my phone calls or text messages. Today is Monday 12/17/2018 of the third week of no pay. I have been threatened by the contractor I hired to be sued because I did not pay him. This company has (according to Wikipedia) been in business for 84 years! This is extremely hard to believe being that they have so many terrible reviews and also have a reputation for not paying contractors for their labor ( I didn't know this before hand). If you have done business with this company in Chesapeake, VA and apparently elsewhere you are aware of it's dubious behavior. If you are considering doing business with them PLEASE DON'T DO IT! They pay waaaaay below market value for installation services but even this can seem appealing to someone desperate or excited in assuming that working with them is a new business opportunity. DON'T DO IT, YOU WILL REGRET IT! There is obviously something illegal within the companies operations. There are many people that work there as installers that can't speak English or understand the work orders that they are given. I would bet that a lot of them are illegal immigrants. This company is in desperate need of an audit!

Poor Customer service

Vinyl plank installed Aug 3, 2018. Replaced 27 year old vinyl so I love the new look. However as of today (Nov 15) still do not have quarter round and missing 3 pieces of baseboard removed to match. The installers (who do not speak English) lost the first piece of base board, came again took a second piece, but the match was terrible, like blonde and brunette, so took 3rd piece of baseboard. We have had to meet Rite Rug people at our house 3 times since the original install. Have made numerous calls to the salesmen in the store as well as customer service here in Columbus. As of today, 3 1/2 months from the original installation, I am still waiting for install of the quarter round, as well as a few other minor finishing issues. Spend over $5,000 for all new flooring in whole 1st floor and this is the service you get.

Install promised for 10 showed up at 7!

My boyfriend works nights. Jerry from Rite Rug told him install would be between 10 and 12. He got up after 3 hours of sleep to be ready for the install. They did not show up. He started calling Jerry and could not get him to call back. Then he was told they sent installers to another job instead of his. They gave him a new time of 6 pm. He was exhausted and very angry that his was pushed to the end of the day without any phone call. He inquired about the reason for the change but was ignored. It is now 6:40 and installers are still not here. We called Jerry and he doesn’t answer the phone. We called the store and they are closed. Installers finally show up and it’s almost 7 pm and tell us it will take 3 hours!! That’s 10 pm. So I get to stay up and wait and can’t go to bed to be rested for my job. This place has big problems. They need training in customer service big time

Horrible

Vinyl plank installation was a disaster...not resolved. Every pic is of rework needed. Company is mute. EVERY transition and most quarter round need revision! I hope others that have experienced similar issues seek help. Rite Rug is SLOP!

Poor Installation

I had carpet installed in an apartment. It was about 1300 sq ft. with steps included. The upstairs was installed correctly with no problems. Then the van with the downstairs carpet caught on fire and burned. The other roll of the carpet was destroyed. This was on a Wednesday. I contacted Rite Rug and they said they could get the same carpet and still get it installed. On Sunday, 3 installers arrived to finish the downstairs. Originally it was 2 installers. When they were finished, we went in to look and every freshly baseboard was marked and scuffed. There were also some dings in the walls. I realize that there might be a little scuff in the process but not to this magnitude. The upstairs had no issues at all. I called the company and the salesman sent us to the main office. They wanted pictures. I took pictures and sent them but it was extremely difficult to see the magnitude of the problem. They never sent anyone to look at the problem either. They determined that it was normal and was stated in the contract this could happen and it would not be their responsibility. Well, let me say that the upstairs had no problems. This started after the fire when I suspect the 2 man crew needed to become a 3 man, inexperienced, crew to get the job done for the same price. This job, due to the fire, was causing them money. Workmen never work on a Sunday. I had to repaint every baseboard and areas on the walls due to the quick and dirty rush job on the installation. I have several apartments and will never have Rite Rug install carpet, or any type of flooring, again.

Terrible ethics

Rite rug is a scam! We bought a hard wood floor 3.5 years ago and it’s destroyed. We said we had dogs and the salesman was like, NO PROBLEM. It’s a very hard wood. Now it is damaged so far down that it cannot be refinished. Rite rug and the manufacturer both say “oh that’s the wood, it’s very soft. This is a dog problem, you should never have bought this type”. They won’t fix it, won’t replace boards (even when I have some original wood left). They say they can’t help. Sorry. Since when is a company so corrupt, and out for a buck! I should have this floor for 50 years, not 3. And I have NO RECOURSE. Not sure at all what to do.
