Reservations.com is a fraud site

Googled hotel online, clicked on site that LOOKED like the official site, and used a phone number that was listed to make reservations for a Hilton property. Phone is answered "Reservations", sounding like the official site. Was charged bogus service charge, but was told on phone that this was the local taxes and fees. Asked about a conference discount that was supposed to apply, was told that was not available currently. I understand that the so called terms and conditions on the website prohibit my participating in a class action lawsuit against these thieves, but I did this by telephone, and I did NOT waive my rights to participate.

This company is a scam!!! They are not a honest company!!!!

I booked thinking I was dealing directly with the hotel, I specifically asked if I would be fully refunded if I cancelled and I was told that I would get a full refund if I canceled by Aug 2. I called 15 minutes after booking to cancel my reservation and they charged my card $603!!! I was then told that I was given bad information and will not get a refund!!!

Tried to book 2 different rooms

I tried to book 2 rooms, one a studio, and the second was going to be a 2 bedroom suite. reservations.com let me enter "2" for the number of rooms I would like to reserve in Palm Springs, CA. a Normal website would let you choose one room, then a second room which may or not be the Exact same room as the first selection. After I chose the first room it asked for the names of the guests, I entered who would be staying there and clicked the link at the bottom. I was Shocked that it booked 2 studios and I called reservations.com immediately to let them know how their website did not let me pick a different room type. I was told they could not cancel it. I understand the policy but I should not be responsible for a charge because of a poor website design. I really didn't want my money back. I just wanted to pay More and make one of the rooms a 2 bedroom suite. I was told on the phone I need to book the two rooms separately, then why would you have a drop down to select the number of rooms with no disclaimer warning that they would ALL have to be the same. I am obviously not cancelling because I don't want to stay there, I tried cancelling because their website does not follow best practice guidelines for website design. I had have to rebook the rooms again - Using a different site. They said they would open a case after I talked to a manager and after a week they said there was Nothing they could do. I got stuck paying an extra $600 for my stay.

I'm Pissed

We were heading out of town on short notice for a family funeral and not in the best frame of mind when looking for our hotel. We Googled the specific hotel we wanted and didn't notice Reservations.com weaseled their way in as the top result. We needed two rooms and they charged two separate fees. We thought we were speaking directly with the hotel and got scammed into paying a completely unnecessary fee (twice!).

The scammed me out of $455.00

I went online for the purpose of securing a hotel reservation at Founders Inn and Spa Virginia Beach, VA . At that time I correctly entered the date of my request (June 25 2023) and also saw a price quote of $117 per night (plus taxes). Then without noticing, I was transferred into a website called Reservations.com (which did not appear on the Google Maps list of booking sites). I then entered my credit card number and completed the reservation request. In transferring to Reservations.comthe dates (and price) had changed (which I did not notice). My confirmation advice shows room rental dates of July 30 and August 1, 2023. The total cost for this is stated to be $480.18. My credit card was charged about $557 for this reservation. When I saw the transaction notice, I immediately (within minutes) calledReservations.com, explained the situation and asked for a cancellation and refund. I was advised that this reservation was not cancelable. I was then offered the option to request a cancellation through management, but there would be a cancellation charge of $455. That amount still appears on my credit card account. I am waiting for a full refund from Reservations.com. This site is a fraudulent ripoff.

Cancellation without any refund

I booked with reservations.Com under the impression that I was booking directly with the hotel. Their price came out to be 30% higher than if I had booked directly with the hotel. When I tried cancelling my reservation and book directly with the hotel instead, they cancelled without warning me there would be no refund. I was forced to book again and lost $215/- in the process. These guys are crooks. Terrible customer service. Their cancellation policies are draconian And they should be investigated for it.

Bad company. Crooks. Double speak. Stay away at all costs. Deceptive too - forgot that one. Unconscionable. Totally devoid of ethics.

Scam service designed to take your money that will not accept changes. I will charge you full price of a reservation if you cancel even 2 to 3 weeks in advance, theyre crooks and ethical and deceptive. They are founded on principles of deception and dishonesty, and taking your money at all costs.

Charged without being told.

The Sheraton informed me that my room was covered by the licensing school that I was with. The room that was reserved was considered a no show and marked as such.

Reservation.com charged me 178.00 plus their 20.00 charge. The amount of 198.00 went to reservation.com and never returned to me. Reservation.com said the case has been closed and they refuse to refund me.

The room reserved for me was a suite and I received a 99.00 room. Do not use this service.

This company charged me when I was not even aware that I was talking to anyone other than the hotel. I only knew after the fact. I hung up on the first person who was a woman because she was overcharging me. I called back at a different number associated with the hotel. A man answered and gave me a slightly different rate. I was told it was a suite and it was a normal room and my colleagues showed up and were charged less than 80.00 of what I paid for. I will make sure not to use reservation.com again.

THIS IS A SCAM

This company uses their website to copy the hotel website - so when you think you are booking through the hotel, you are not. I had a charge to my credit card more than I expected, but I assumed the hotel put in a deposit, as they often do. When I received the hotel bill, they only charged me for the original price quoted to me, per night. Unbeknownst to me, reservations.com charged me Then, they add on fees to the nightly $500 more than the hotel quoted me or noted that I paid. I have contacted this company and after taking weeks to respond, they refused to refund me, saying I agreed to these charged. I have nothing on my email receipt that I agreed to pay more for each night. Do not be fooled - if you end of mistakingly booking through this site, please ask for a refund BEFORE you stay for the night and contact the hotel to let them know of the scam.

This website is a scam and a rip off

This is the worst website for reservations. No matter what your reason is, you cannot get a refund if you cancel. They make it sound like the service fee is the only charge that isn't refundable.

No refund fir an emergency

I made a reservation on May 3rd and had to cancel it on May 20th. They did not notify the mainstay suites hotel in midland texas that I canceled. I have a copy of the cancelation. I talked with the hotel and they were not paid. I paid reservation.com 465.00 for the room and 15.00 for their fee. I had to cancel because of an ankle problem that required surgery to remove a tumor.Do not use this company. They will not refund you. Real compassionate people huh. I am the commander of the America Legion here and national as well as all veterans will be notified not to use them.

Deceptive webpage created by Reservations.com made to appear as a Days Inn by Wyndham webpage.

I thought I had opened the official Days Inn by Wyndham webpage when in fact I had opened a reservations.com webpage. These scammers charged a room rate much higher than the rate charged by the hotel and added a fee. Days Inn in Beaver, Utah charges $83.96 for a single room while reservations.com charged me $127.29 for the room and added a $19.99 fee. Days Inn said I made the reservations through Expedia and I did not use Expedia. AVOID USING THIS CROOKED BUSINESS!!

I was charged $100 more a night than any competitor sites or the hotel itself. They refused to help in any way and said you should've read the t&C's

Resolved: Site malfunction but still wouldn't provide refund!

Company resolved the issue.

UPDATE: After visiting the actual hotel in person and revealing the facts of my case to them, they provided a Reservations.com requirement of a letter stating the hotel has authorized a full refund for the amount charged. Nonetheless, Reservations.com unwillingness to even help resolve this issue will make me avoid them like the plague if I ever encounter their service again!

In trying to reserve a single night. Upon confirmation, I noticed the total was way higher than expected. I IMMEDIATELY called customer service. They indicated I reserved 2 nights vs. 1. This was not accurate. I explained to the customer service rep this was a system error and that I would gladly pay for the single night I had reserved in the first place. The rep indicated this was a non-refundable reservation and would have to pay for it. I respectfully pushed back indicated I shouldn't have to pay for something I didn't not order. After speaking to a supervisor, they indicated they would 'put me in' for a refund and I would find out their decision in the next 7 - 10 days. That very same day, I received an email indicating they contacted the hotel I was trying reserve and the hotel indicated they would not be refunding the money. I don't believe that would be the case if the contact as actually made. This is a shady service and has less-than-helpful customer service. Steer clear! You end up paying their $19.99 fee (if not more) which completely cancels out any 'proposed' discount you get from using their site vs. just going directly to the hotel's site. Do that instead of using these scammers.

SCAMMERS.. Charged me over twice the advertised amount

Booked a room for 2 nights.. first screen advertised the room at $56/night.. the next screen is where I put in all my info (name, dates, CC info, etc) and then when I clicked what I thought was taking me to a confirmation screen showing me all charges, etc it just booked my room without any breakdown or report of final charges. Received the invoice in my email and what I thought would be around $200 was over $400. I called Reservations.com to cancel (all this within 5 min of the booking and 3 weeks before the reservation). They refused to cancel saying non refundable. I told them I didn't receive any breakdown of what the charges would be except the first page which stated $56/night. The guy said there are fees on top of that.. to which I replied, "$300 in fees on a $120 booking?" He said I shouldn't have agreed to the charges.. I told him I didn't.. that there was no breakdown of the charges for me to agree to, or decline. They refused to do anything about it. I went back online and initiated another booking just to see if I missed something and nope.. there was no screen showing the breakdown. Apparently on the screen where you enter all your info the breakdown is at the right side of the screen, but it was hidden and you had to click on a picture of a bell or something to get it to appear. No comments that you needed to do this.. When you think you're going to be directed to a screen with all the details so you can confirm it just charges you instead. Then they're like, Oh well, too bad for you. Checked the hotels website directly, and their nightly rate was $123 but even with a nightly rate over twice that of Reservation.com the final total cost from the hotel was still over $100 lower than Reservation.com. Just goes to show what a scam Reservation.com is. I also found it deceiving that on the first screen it stated, "Just 1 room left at this low rate" but after I completed my reservation.. and so far for over an hour it still says there's 1 room left. The arrow in the attached pic shows how I needed to click that icon to open the breakdown. No disclosure you needed to do that.
