Reputation Defender is a Scam

This company never was able to remove any negative things - in fact, the negative searches about me increased after hiring them. As soon as I stopped using their "services", my reputation online actually IMPROVED. What a waste of money, and time. Save yourselves.

I'm furious at their approach and lack of results!

I paid $3000 to start with and they promised several things that would become suppressed in the internet and those that would be completely eliminated. When I did my search after working with them and giving them all the information they asked for about m, for 9 months, I found my profile was worse! Unbelievable!!

Rude, unprofessional, dishonest and unethical

I wish I had done my due diligence and read all these reviews before spending thousands on a package. They outsource all their content to third world writers who copy and paste from simple goodie searches and frequently ignore your suggestions. When I asked for some kind of accountability I was verbally assaulted by the tween assigned to my account. These guys are trash....surprised theyre still in business.

This company is terriible. They steal your money and do not do anything to help you

I paid them $6000.00 to remove a phony negative ad on the internet about my company. They told me they would remove it. They strung me along for over a year. This company lied to my lawyer and to the BBB, saying it S would return my money but it was evident after a full year of waiting, this company was just going to keep my money while doing absolutely nothing to assist me or to give me what I had paid for.

"Free Reputation Report Card" is a misleading offer.

The free offer is just to get your information to try and sell you an unneeded service. The information they collected was insufficient to identify me from others with my name. When they contacted me and I said their system is garbage, the response was "It's just a google search of your name!". Yes they used the exclamation mark in their response.

This company was hired to suppress a negative post on my Google search. They did not follow-through on their promises, and then tried to get more money out of me.

Reputation Defender 1400A Seaport Blvd, Suite 401, Redwood City, CA 94063 877-976-**** Contact Patrick Watson I hired Reputation Defender to push down a negative post from Google Search. On April 30, 2020, I paid them $2,500.00 using my Discover Card in order to do so. They said I would start to see the post pushed down starting in three months, and continue to move down to the second or third page of google search results after that. I provided the required information to them so they could write articles to post that would supersede the article which I wanted pushed down. They scheduled a progress review meeting with me on 8/12/2020. Upon scheduling that meeting, I was told there should be some good progress made by then. During the time from when I ordered their services in April, to my progress meeting in August, the offending post has moved up from position 3 to position 2 in my google search results. Upon expressing my displeasure for not seeing any results, I was told that I should not have expected the minimal service package that I purchased to have any effect on my Google results (which I hired them to fix). I was approached to move up my tier of service and pay an additional $7500.00 to $10,000. They explained that this would be the only way in which I could see any results. So as you can see, during the time in which I was working with Reputation Defender, the offending post not only didn't get pushed down, but in fact moved up. They did not do what they claimed they would do if hired. I want a $2,500.00 refund, based on Reputation Defender not providing the service for which they were hired. In addition, I think trying to do a bait and switch to exhort a substantial additional fee from me to do what was supposed to already have been done is very unethical. They should not be allowed to practice these deceitful and unethical business practices.

Horrible Company

I called them and told them my issue. They then accused me of what I was already exonerated of. I asked for an apology thinking he mis-spoke, and he refused. Maybe the dumbest company I have ever spoke with. Filing complaint with the BBB.

Bad idea

They scan similar name of you and its not for you. As soon as you put your information. You start getting calls from them as scam or maybe from different companies.

Don't pay this company Upfront!

Total waste of money. After paying upfront communication was impossible. Results were nothing like they promised! DO NOT PAY!

Total rip off

In my opinion we were scammed. They ask you to enter a bunch of information about yourself to their website then they use freelance writers from third world countries to keep rewriting the same content and publishing it on bogus websites. That is all you will get for thousands of dollars. Then when the contract term expires and you ask where the results are they tell you it will require another term and another several thousand dollar payment to achieve the results. Total waste, they are taking advantage of vulnerable people.

I hired Reputation Defender to stop MyLife.com from posting lies about me.

Updated by user Apr 26, 2019
The Reputation score I was referring to was my MyLife.com score. I actually had a higher reputation score before Reputation Defender got involved. I guess that pissed off the MyLife people.

Original review Apr 26, 2019
Four months after paying Reputation Defender $1,000 to remove lies and negative remarks about me on the internet my Reputation score has dropped an additional 2.5 points plus my record is still online. Reputation Defender had promised to have it removed. Do yourself a favor and save your money. Better yet, if there is a particular website that is dissing you, use your money to hire a good lawyer to send them a threatening letter to sue them if they don’t comply with your request to remove your information from their website.

Bad news

They told me they would fix this problem for me but all they did was take my money and do absolutely nothing when i call they have nothing but excuses. To the point i had to call the sheriff's department and file a report opening a case against them, file a law suit and call in the feds for computer fraud. I would not dral with them

They can’t even defend their own reputation

I couldn’t help noting with irony that this website is filled with negative reviews of reputation defender, which is evidence enough that they are not effective at changing what is posted online or defending anyone’s reputation. They cannot even defend their own reputation as evidenced here . Lol

Reputation Defender Intentionally Boosts Negative Listings

After consulting with Reputation Defender over negative listings, I decided to go with another company but started receiving RD's promotional emails. I had made great progress pushing the links down with the help of another company, but in only a few hours the negative links rocketed to page 1 shortly before receiving offers from Reputation Defender. It took several months to rebuild my reputation, but then coinciding with each email from Reputation Defender, the negative links rocketed back to page 1. Coincidence? I have heard many others say the same thing, but I could not believe it until I experienced it. What they are apparently doing is programming an SEO to boost negative listings you provide to them to coincide with their marketing program. I do not have proof per se, but this is clearly a comment complaint with this company. This has jeopardized my job and made all my efforts and expenses wasted. Many others have said the same thing. RD, you would make more money if you actually helped people instead of jeopardizing their livelihood. To all others looking to hire this company: WARNING! Do not even consult with their reps about negative listings. They will use the negative listings against you to market their program, extort money, or otherwise justify the business need for them.
