Recycle Program is horrbile

I have had SO many (documented) problems with the recycle pickup since the payment process was changed to us paying ourselves during COVID, and then changed back to being paid through our taxes. They were constantly NOT picking up our recycle because we live in a cul-de-sac where only 2 or 3 families actually recycle, and some of the drives considered it a hassle to have to drive our street for that. On one occasion, the Manager of Municipal Sales had to personally come to our home to pickup a bunch of debris the truck left in front of our driveway. I have documentation for that, as well. When I finally contacted our Mayor, they had lied to him and said that we didn't have the bin at the curb on the mornings of scheduled pick ups. So, I now have to take timestamped pictures of the bin at the curb on the nights before the scheduled pickups so I can prove when they don't pick up. I'm sure you will agree, as everyone else I know, that this is an unwarranted and unprofessional hassle for us and we have lived here for more than 20 years. We are even willing to pay a different company for trash and recycle pick ups, but, evidently there is a monopoly where only certain companies service certain areas and we are one of those areas. It's just all so ridiculous that a company would play such insane games with their customers. AND, they STILL send me emails every month to update my credit card on file when we haven't had to pay them for 2 years.

I had to call every month for half a year

6 months ago we added another trash can and yard waste bin to our service. The yard waste bin arrived first and for some reason it was the same color as our original trash bin (dark green) when our second trash bin arrived a few days later it was a light grey color. I called them to ask if the different color trash bins would be an issue and they assured me that since all our bins where provided by them, regardless of the colors the stickers on top where accurate and there would be no problems. Every time we receive a bill from RS I am having to call to dispute charges. Today I finally called and told them to pick up their bin after they sent me a bill for almost $400. And they had the audacity to try and make me pay for a "bulk item pickup"

Didn't pick up trash

My recyclable wasn't picked up. I called customer service and told them my problem. They understood my concern and rectified my problem.

Pissed customer this is sad when I am unable to resolve this problem no emergency numbers please update your system so we are able to contact someone other then the police

Truck pulled down tree big branch blocking street

A garbage truck broke a big branch off a tree and now is blocking the street. Tired to move it but I was unable too.

Inconsistent Payment Due Invoices for 230 Condos

HOA negotiated price agreement for identical trash collection services for all 230 condos yet conflicting dollar amounts due amongst the neighbors I spoke with. Have been promised account credits for overcharges from Republic Service to no avail. Someone skimming off the top, Fraud?

Trash can not empty

My trash bin was still half full was not entirely empty. They need to make sure the bin is empty! They move on too fast!

I couldn't give a zero star..

This should be a zero. We ordered services through this company I paid several hundred dollars... only for them to never pick up my garbage. So I canceled found another company and was supposed to get a refund... and now they send me another bill and I don't even have service with them! This is a rip off ...the company is a scam.

Un agreed fees to quit. They will "advise" you of additional charges you were never told about and will continually bill and harass you.

Miss trash pickup

Miss trash and recycle pick up. No call or alert to tell us that they werent coming. Or they will be coming at a later time to pick up the trash. My bill comes on time and I pay it on time so I expect my trash to be picked up on time or get a call with a reasonable explanation as to win that pick up what happened.

Discontinued service without notice.

During service today, they threw my trashcan away. When I asked the driver what was going on, he told me his boss said to throw everyone's cans away. After speaking with customer service, they informed me they are no longer servicing my area. There was no notice. Also, pricing has gone up every single billing cycle since I signed up. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. They are robbing their customers blind and I wish I had stopped service years ago.

My unimpressive Republic rep (the same one who tried to tell me that I had a contract when I DID NOT, tried to force me to pay early termination fees that I did not owe, and then ghosted me entirely and would not respond to calls or emails) sent me a message offering...

I submitted a service/estimate request online and followed up via telephone after not receiving a response via the web. On the call, I told the rep I spoke with that I had used Republic previously at another organization because they offered a no-term agreement, and that was what I wanted. The rep emailed me an agreement with an overview that reflected no contract term and a reasonable estimate. I signed and returned on January 19. On January 29, I received an email informing me that my service was on its way, and another on the 30th informing me that my service had been completed (meaning that the dumpster had been emptied). The only problem: my dumpster had not yet been delivered. I was billed for two weeksand received "service complete" emails during that timebefore the container was ever delivered. The dumpster was finally delivered during the first week of February. On *the day after* it was delivered, a contractor performing work on our property disposed of an old door in the dumpster. The doorthe only garbage in the dumpstersat in the dumpster for weeks. I took photos and videos. I reported missed pickups. I got an email confirming the completion of my rescheduled pickup (in response to my missed pickup report). THE DOOR REMAINED IN THE DUMPSTER FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS. I took video of it still in the dumpster on March 8. All the while, I was receiving regular weekly emails telling me that my service was complete, despite the clear photographic and video evidence that it was never emptied after it was delivered. Then I received a bill for DOUBLE the quote in my agreement, despite no changes to my requested service (and in spite of Republic's failure to meet the terms of our agreement). Then my service rep emailed me to ask how my service was going, and I replied that I would like to schedule the dumpster for removal and cancel my service. This rep replied and tried to claim that I would have to pay to terminate the contract earlydespite the fact that (1) my agreement has no contract term and (2) I have abundant documentary evidence of their breaches. And now my account rep won't respond to me at all. So now it'll be a BBB and FTC issueunless and until it becomes a legal issue. Fortunately, my friend and law school classmate Joe is an expert in this domain. You can read about the shady dealings that commercial waste companies try to pull off by googling "The Dirty Business of Commercial Waste Hauling"an article he published on LinkedIn. And then contact him there for help if you need an advocate. This whole industry is dirtyin every sense of the word. Attached is a photo of the door still in the dumpster on March 8.
