Horrible customer service

This company customer service is horrible. I paid off this collection and all I received was a confirmation number. I requested a verification letter for proof that this collection was paid in full. I never received the letter through email. I constantly called them telling them that I never received the letter and I really needed the letter. Every time I call it's always a different lie. If I could I would rate them zero stars.

Fraud Alert

Updated by user Feb 23, 2021
I attempted to contact RPM. There was no response.

RPM is listed on the Experian and Trans Union.

Experian removed RPM from the report since this was disputed. Since Experian removed RPM and since RPM has made no attempts to contact me I then consider the matter closed.

Original review Jan 24, 2021
I checked Experian and noticed a collection from RPM. RPM is a collection agency. On the report, there is a claim of having an account with Sprint and this caused the collections because of non-payment. However, I never opened an account with Sprint nor have I received any notices in the mail. Other reviews of RPM claim that RPM is making false charges trying to extort money from the person. So, I filed dispute charges with Experian and a fraud alert with Sprint.

Dishonesty and extortion!

I never had any phone service with Verizon. However, about 2 years ago, I began receiving several collections notices in the mail. They said that I owed Verizon a lot of money in past due bills. This also flagged my credit ratings! Fast forward to 3 days ago. I received a letter from Receivables Performance Management saying that I owed a lot of money to Verizon for unpaid bills. Since I have NEVER had any Verizon account, I contacted Verizon customer service. The Verizon rep researched their records....which showed that I NEVER had a Verizon account! So I called Receivables Performance Management. The person I spoke to knew my social security number...even though I never told him what it was.He also knew personal information about me which I never told him. When I told him I NEVER had a Verizon account, and that Verizon records showed that...the RPM rep said he could just clear things up if I sent him $89.20. He was Extorting money to get RPM off my back!!! I contacted Washington State BBB. I may also contact Washington State Attorney Generals Office. It is illegal to make false claims that hurt peoples credit ratings; it is also illegal to extort money from people by making fraudulent claims against people!

Relentless & ruthless!

I got a call from a rep. stating that I owed a debt on T-Mobil account for $380. I told the rep that was resolved several years back as a fraudulent account. No matter what I said the rep was like a broken record! After a month I received a letter of collection and I then called RPM. After several attempts I finally got a rep that said that I needed to call a different phone number. After explaining & repeating myself to another broken record rep I was told that I would receive a form to fill out to indicate fraudulent activity. The rep said it would arrive in a week or two, I waited over a month. I finally made a complaint to BBB & AG office in Washington State but so far the negative credit rating is still on my credit report!

Fraudulent Collection

They call all hours of the day and are trying to collect money because they say I owe Direct TV. I do not owe Direct TV any money and do not have an account with them. I never received a letter or written correspondence regarding Direct TV or RPM saying I owe money. I’m going to sue RPM if they don’t stop harassing me for money I don’t owe.

HORRIBLE.

As a vet who had a 90 day deployment, I let my dish tv bill suspend while deployed. I immediately turned it back on upon arriving back. It wasn’t until years later I realized RP had my account in collections. While attempting to talk to “customer service” I was treated horribly and responses were scripted. I’ll be carrying around a collection for the next seven years. Only negative report I have. Horrible company. Told me there was no way to delete info. Which is a out right lie. They may not do it, but deletions are very easy to accomplish. Glad there are a lot of companies that will work with vets. This is not one of them.

In my humble opinion

Most people are offended when someone calls them regarding a debt. I noticed most reviews are based on customers being angry because they are behind and receiving calls. My experience with Receivables Performance Management is they’re willing to work with you in every way possible. They understand people fall on hard times and that is where they come in. They are calling to help you get out of the situation you’re in. They are willing to work out low payment arrangements, if you give them a chance you'd be very impressed. They also support the entire community from schools, to hospitals, museums, local businesses etc. They also give generously to various organizations. They give their hours of time and monetary gifts year after year. They are huge philanthropists and have blessed so many. Give them a chance. I honestly don't know what the community would do without them. I wish all collection agencies were as giving and helpful as Receivables Performance Management.

Shouldn't had been in this position

I have had an amazing experience with Receivables Performance Management. I had a rough patch in the financial part of my life and ended up defaulting. I got a call from Matt as he told me that his job was to get me into a repayment program NOT to collect money. Instantly, I felt more comfortable talking to him because I didn't have the money, obviously or I would not have been in this situation in the first place.

It's not their fault

I have to say despite the other reviews, I was one of the fortunate ones to have had a positive experience so far. I called and spoke with Carol. She advised who the debt was for and helped me to make arrangements to pay it off. Of course, she had to be quick and to the point, but was respectful when speaking to me. I gave her the same respect. I agree that this is not the best job, but when a debt is owed, it has to be paid. It is up to us to find out where it came from and understand that we have to give what we expect to get back. Not everyone we speak to is going to be rude, many will go over and beyond to help us. I don't think they all want to harass people, but when you go in with the mindset that they are going to be rude, then they will. I gave a 5 because of the quick response I got when I called in and for the call itself when talking to Ms Carol. Of course, I'm not happy to have to pay a bill, but I incurred it, so I have to take care of it. It isn't their fault.

RPM has been very helpful

No one likes being called by collectors but these guys over at Receivables Performance Management are doing something right. I must hand it to these guys they were creative yet still professional in their collection effort. A special thank you to the young lady representative who help me through the process of getting my payment arrangements made. I knew I had the debt, but had been trying to just ignore it in hopes it would go away. You don't know how much you've helped me get my life and credit back on track. We're now in much better financial shape because of you guys. Thank you RPM.

A horrible company

These *** called me every day, at least 3 times a day. If I let it go to voicemail, they wouldn't keave a message. If I answered it, nobody was there. This went on for months. Eventually, I called this # back. Turns out I wasn't even the person they were wanting to reach. I found this out at about the 20th time I told them to stop calling me. They harrased me because they said this was the contact # for someone I had never heard of. In this day when you can change your phone three times a day if you want and apparently put down any phone number on a form, these idiots weren't smart enough to actually check to see if the number they were calling was actually the person they wanted to reach. If somebody firebombs this business, I will be a happy person.

Fake directv bill

Never had directv, never contacted by company but they reported I owe them $600+ and knocked my credit down. Company has no response, file a complaint with BBB

I think they are actually a scam??

I got an email from these people telling me they are going to aggressively go after me for a DirectTV bill in the amount of almost $700. I had cable until I was 30 and got dish network as my first satellite company and have never used any other company, including directTV in fact I’m always getting things in the mail offering me incentive to switch to DirectTV. I think they aren’t debt collectors at all just trying to get people to send money.
