Customer Service

Had their product for a few years. Things started to go wrong. Not complaining, things dont last forever. But for the fact that customer service is very poor. Emails go unanswered. Try calling and your put on a list which takes about 30 minutes before someone answers. They finally answer and promise a email response. Back to not answering, they dont!!!. If you place a order, your payment is instant. Ask where product is and you wait and wait. Its unfortunate that they are product specific, unable to purchase parts elsewhere. All I can say is look elsewhere and get a product where your not locked in contacting them.

Hot tub issue

STAY AWAY! Bought hot tub several years ago and brand DR. WELLNESS IS WORST EVER. Needed to find a part for jet. Have called 9 times to get help and because I'm not buying new, I'm not worth calling back. Even when message was left with answering service. No one will work on that brand or can get parts either!!!

Cheated out of a hot tub chemical starter kit

We bought a dr. Wellness hot tub from red direct in Charlotte nc in May 2017. The sales representatives said they would include a free starter chemical kit worth approximately $81. When the hot tub was delivered, we were told they were out of the kits, but they would ship one as soon as more were in stock. Two years later, we still haven’t received our kit, despite multiple calls to the company.

1 year later

I bought a Luxury Plus Bath/Jacuzzi from RecDirect in Jacksonville, Florida in June 2017. The sales people were friendly and the tub arrived as schedule. Upon having it professionally installed, as of August 2018, literally every part has been repaired or replaced, the tub cost us more than advertised, and their repair contractor (George Anderson ALLSPAS in Jacksonville, Florida has swindled us out of $769.00), and RecDirect claims to not know anything of their contractors. My Bath tub/Jacuzzi has yet to work but thanks to Mr. George Anderson, my outdoor Jacuzzi also doesn't work. I have so many extra parts and the local representative at RecDirect now claims to not know anything about tubs. This whole ordeal has taught me several things, 1) don't trust RecDirect for anything. 2) don't trust RecDirect contractors, 3) local employees are useless and 4) it is extremely difficult to get someone from their corporate office on the phone. I feel I was ripped off $3700 for this Bath/Jacuzzi as well the $769 for their contractor George Anderson. As a disabled veteran who originally bought this product because of knee surgeries and pain, who has never been able to use his bathtub and the pain switched to my wallet and my piece of mind. This is an expensive mistake on my part, which the company seems to care a less about. The only shining part is the parts department who continuously sends me the wrong parts that collect in the spare room, but at least they are trying.

Acua Living Nightmare

I bought a hot tub from them in their Cranston, Rhode Island store. The sales lady was very pleasant and told me that when it was delivered, she would be there to give me a walk through on its use. It took longer that she predicted to arrive. When I called her, she said "It got shipped yesterday". When I called her two weeks later, she said "It got shipped yesterday". I told her that she said the exact same thing two weeks ago. she later called me back when it finally arrived and set up a delivery date. To be sure to be there, I refused overtime from my career (approximately $450) that day. The delivery guy called last minute to tell me his truck broke down. So, we rescheduled. Again, I turned down overtime to be there for the delivery. Again he had to reschedule. finally he agreed to deliver it on a Sunday. That Sunday, it rained. He again tried to cancel, so I had to go "Postal" on him to get him to show up. I was told he was a professional. He showed up with a 1996 trailblazer and a uti;lity trailor. I had to help with the entire delivery AND pay him $350 for doing it! When he dropped it off, there was no one to show us anything about the tub. We unwrapped it and filled it. Both my wife and I attempted to program the panel with no luck. We called for help and got the run around. I finally called Brian in Tennesee and he asked me if it arrived in one piece. I answered "yes". He then said, "Well our job is done". We tried for three months to get it programmed, and no one would help. Finally, I paid another service to come check it out and he told me that the tub was basically a piece of crap and that the program panel was no good. It took several threatening calls to get one of their people there. He agreed the panel was no good and ordered it. It was to arrive at my house and to call him to set up an installation. The part arrived and several calls were made, all of which went unanswered. We called Brian a few times and he got a service guy from Connecticut to come do the repair. When he got there, he checked it out and found that all was needed was to hit a reset button. So in all, we waited for almost four months to use the tub over a simple reset button. We have told this story to anyone and everyone in contact with us. And incourage people to avoid this company! I deeply regret having anything to do with these people!

Spa is useless!

Upon first operation of my dr. Wellness X6 spa, I noticed that there is virtually no suction through the filter compartment. (Contaminants just billow around filter without getting sucked into filter.) Also, the speakers sounded blown out, several of the air and jet controls didn't work, the skirting panels were warped with large gaps, and the tub itself had almost no insulation. (There was a blown on insulation about 1/8" thick, which is almost useless, even though it was sold as an energy efficient model!) I had to add rigid foam insulation around the perimeter of the spa. After complaining about these problems, I only got a run-around. They told me to hire a local spa repairman to fix the problems, but when I sent them an estimate, they refused to cover the repairs, claiming they were excessive! Without a filter system, this spa is completely non-functional. Do not buy from these swindlers!

Not good

Literally a few days after the 2 year warranty was up my circuit board fried due to aluminum connectors (should be copper) fastening the 220v wires to the board. 2 years of heat and winter expanded the cheap metal enough to where the wires backed out a fried.... they told me I need a mechanic to tell me what I need except hardly anyone likes to service tubs that are not their own product and gave me a 3 month wait due to pool season if they would help me at all. This was less than a week after warranty expired so I'm pretty much paying for new wiring fro the house to the tub and a new circuit board from pocket

No replacement parts or service available for sauna purchase 3 years old

Infrared sauna purchased from rec direct stopped working, no power. I looked online and found service number as store I bought from had closed. I called and was advised that unit had one year warranty, they did not support the unit anymore and had no replacement parts. I told them they still were available for purchase online? I asked if they had any repair contractors in Atlanta area and was advised no, I asked name of manufacturer and was advised they got them from China and had no contact information . Bottom line is I bought a sauna that cannot be repaired. Not sure why they still market and still sell a product they cannot support.

Rec Direct VP Sends Harassing Messages

I was recently forced to file complaints against RecDirect with the Better Business Bureau in both Georgia and Tennessee. I recommend that consumers do not buy from RecDirect. We purchased a spa and called about it week after week after it was supposed to be delivered. The salesman, Carey Allred, never even checked on it. Each time he just said "call back next week". He tended to be rude and flippant as if it wasn't worth his time. We finally called the factory directly and were told it would ship out by the end of that week or early the next. Two weeks later we had not heard a word from them. After 7 weeks we had to dispute the purchase on our credit card because RecDirect will attempt to charge $1000 - $2000 to cancel an order. We didn't cancel it, however; we just never received the merchandise. If a customer was to actually receive merchandise from them I cannot imagine that they would honor a warranty after having dealt with them on the sale. Everything we were told turned out to be untrue even when we spoke with the factory directly. It was a huge mistake to do business with them, and as of now we have to consider the sale to be a fraudulent transaction. After I lodged complaints with the Better Business Bureau in both Georgia and Tennessee because RecDirect failed to deliver the merchandise I paid for, Mike Thomas, VP of Operations at RecDirect sent me harassing text messages. Over the course of an hour he sent me 101 messages (literally). First, he threatened to charge me 25% for the item they never delivered. Then he went on to send a host of other threats. Here are some of the threats he sent me verbatim; “Wanna play hardball? Let’s do it”, “I will give you till 5pm to call me back and after that don’t bother”, “Better call your lawyer because that’s next step” Who talks to customers like that? What kind of business has upper level management who conducts themselves like that? The fact that RecDirect has executives who threaten customers in that manner says a great deal about their business practices. Really shameful.

Never Received Spa that was Paid for Up Front

Don't buy from RecDirect. We purchased a spa and called about it week after week after it was supposed to be delivered. The salesman, Carey Allred, never even checked on it. Each time he just said "call back next week". He tended to be flippant and rude as if it wasn't worth his time. We finally contacted the factory directly, and the man there said that the tub would be delivered that same week or the next. Two weeks later no delivery, no word from anyone. After 7 weeks we had to dispute the purchase on our credit card because RecDirect wants to charge $1000 - $2000 to cancel an order. We didn't cancel it though; we just never received the merchandise. Everything we were told turned out to be a lie even when we spoke with the factory directly. Huge mistake to do business with them.
