Poor customer service

We attended a home show where we were told we won the door prize drawing (a water air filter system. The only catch was someone from the company had to come out to demonstrate the item and when they left we would have a water air cleaner system. The person came to demostrate the unit but because my wife wasn't home, he got indignant and got in his car and left saying he was going to talk to the demonstrator that was at the home show. The person from the home show called and set up a new day and time when my wife would be home. The day came and went and there was no phone call or text or email, he was a no-show. So the so-called FREE door prize that we were supposed to get, we still don't have. Sounds like fraud. If this is the way your sales people treat customers that might be interested in their product, I don't want anything to do with the company.

Playset deteriorated quickly. Not worth the high cost

Within 2 years of buying a new RPS, we were disappointed to discover that SOME metal components (chains, bolts, mounting rings, etc.) started rusting while other identical metal parts didn't. Different suppliers?? In addition, nearly all the yellow vinyl covering on rungs, chains, etc. began to turn black with some sort of mold. Power washing and scrubbing didn't help much. And some of these yellow vinyl coverings became sticky, as well. I couldn't seem to remedy this problem, only slow it down a bit. Dealer debated the warranty with me, implying that we had not maintained the playset which voided the warranty. It wasn't even 2 years old. Had to fight with him just to get a replacement swing because of the black mold on the yellow vinyl covered chains. Very painful.

Rebuttal

Seems like a lot of these reviews are about having a swing set that perhaps you dont want anymore. Perhaps you got over the fact that you have a huge playground and now want a refund. Seems to me to be the reason for a lot of these complaints. That and seeing that a business has some money and wanting to get some of it. This is a good person who cares about his business, not matter what people say on here. Id order from him any time.

Avoid rainbow play systems

seems like a typical experience with rainbow play systems as told by countless others on this site. purchased a swing set, later found out i WAY OVERPAID as compared to other companies with very similar if not the exact same product, within couple year of ownership had issues with roof canopy ripping &;; wood rotting. submitted warranty claim to rainbow play systems, denied the lifetime warranty i was promised at time of purchase. rainbow play systems is a joke and unscrupulous company. they will say anything to close the deal then give all types of excuses when it's time to honor what they promise. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Not much of a warranty

The main reason I bought a rainbow playground instead of building my own was the warranty. "If something breaks, we will replace it," I was told. Fast forward 3 years. My slide has broken, and because of the break, bent the top of the playground. I file a warranty claim, and am offered a new slide. Except now I need to pay for shipping, install the new slide, and fix the bent tower. I asked if they would install it, but was told that would cost more money, and the local dealer has closed and the nearest dealer is 4 hrs away and hasn't returned my calls. That is quite a bit different from what I expected, and I am less than impressed.

All of a sudden need orginal receipt

Purchased a $5000 rainbow in 2007 at Cullens Home Center in Willmar, MN. St. Cloud store is their distributor. Over the years we have had no trouble calling in, we were in their system, ordered a few parts here and there a couple times, they allowed us to pick up some parts to keep from paying shipping, all in all fine, happy with them. We were in the system, no receipt was asked for. Now, 12 years later, they all of a sudden need the original receipt and all past customers are wiped out of the system, they don't know who we are anymore. They say they will look in boxes for the original receipt for you, but that is just a stalling tactic. I realize should always keep receipts for lifetime warranties but got conditioned by them to not need it over the years and then they got strict but they then also lie about people not being in the system anymore and not being able to help them find the receipt.

Parts warranty

I have an older rainbow playset. When purchased I was told it had a lifetime warranty. Now some pieces have broken and was looking to have these items replaced. For example wood slats for rock wall, canopy and rope ladder. Slide is cracked. Please let me know how I can get warranty Service. Thanks Grazio Sorbara

DO NOT PURCHASE A RAINBOW PLAY SYSTEM A WASTE OF MONEY!

To Whom This May Concern: I am Requesting a Review of My Warranty which came with the Purchase of my Rainbow Play System in 2005. Bridget Lalman, the representative of Rainbow Play System, is stating they will deny a claim due to a maintenance issue. When I bought my Rainbow Play System, I was not directed or given in any notification of a maintenance plan to continue warranty compliance. My lifetime warranty does not recommend or list any maintenance compliance conditions for the Rainbow Play System warranty to be honored. The Rainbow Play System Representative Bridget Laleman is trying to hold me accountable for something they do not have written in their Lifetime Warranty Contract. Please see the attached warranty documents. The warranty document of 2005 was issued with the purchase of my Rainbow System. See the Attached warranty document of 2015 list requirements of maintaining compliance. See the first paragraph of page 2 of the 2015 warranty to see the written in maintaining compliance. My 2005 Rainbow Play System warranty has no such maintenance compliance as a condition of warranty replacement. 2005 gives other reasons for non-warranty coverage but does not provide staining and preserving treatment as one of the requirements for not honoring a warranty. Therefore Bridget Lalman is not honoring and continues to talk over what my initial Warranty States by getting me to sign a Waiver to Alter the Warranty which came with my Rainbow Play System. I find her business tactics to be Unprofessional and Lacking Integrity of their business practices. My system is not in Compliance with State Regulations for the safety of my children. I demand them to honor my Warranty Immediately without prejudice.

Dissapointing purchase

rainbow play systems are very expensive and very poor quality. after owning the set for only 2 years and experiencing wood rotting, splitting and deteriorating the company refuses to honor their lifetime warranty. i can't remember the last time i was this frustrated with a purchase. price was about $4000, but worth about $4.00.

Our experience with rainbow play systems

as one who has never left a review online be it positive or negative with any company, restaurant, service etc i felt it important to call these guys out. instead of writing a long winded personal attack please see the following summing up my families experience with rainbow play systems. --purchases a rainbow castle for roughly $5000 in 2015 after being convinced by salesman it was the best and worth the money because it would last a lifetime. -- soon after the team came to put the set together i stated noticing big cracks appearing all over. --contacted rainbow store and they assured me it was natural and to be expected? --started noticing the wood rotting all along the pieces touching the ground last year so i contacted again. --rainbow said to take pictures-- i thought ok i guess this is where the so called LIFETIME WARRANTY comes into ply and the reason I PAID DOUBLE FOR THE EXACT SAME LOOKING SET FROM OTHER COMPANIES! --PICTURES SENT-WARRANTY DENIED BECAUSE I DIDN'T MEET THEIR MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENT WHICH I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT! --AFTER ONLY 3 YEARS AND $5000 SET LOOKS TERRIBLE IS UNSAFE AND THEY WANT OVER $500 TO COME AND REPLACE ROTTED PIECES. --THIS COMPANY IS AWEFUL, USES DECEPTIVE SALES TACTICS, CHARGES DOUBLE WHAT OTHER COMPANIES CHARGE AND MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A WARRANTY CLAIM FULLFILLED. --CAN'T BELIEVE THIS COMPANY REMAINS IN BUSINESS..I GUESS THAT WILL REMAIN TO BE SEEN. --LESSON LEARNED..THE HARD WAY.

Lifetime warranty is useless

This is the worst product/company i have ever dealt with. The swing set looked good in the stoe and i was assured by the sales woman it would last forever and if i had any issues they had the best warranty in the business. After only 2 years the wood has rotted in many places, cracks have appeared on nearly every piece, the tent top has torn, the bolts have rusted, the yellow rubber coated parts have been infested with black mold (which is impossible to clean) and finally the ropes have all disintegrated to a point where my kids keep getting the prickly pieces stuck in their skin(very painful). After all this not 1 thing is covered under the warranty. They have given me every excuse and made filing the claims very burdensome. In the end the warranty is worthless and my $4000 swing set looks awful and is unsafe. Very sad.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AND ITS OWNER

Owner Darren Patrick is a real piece of work. He lies, defrauds and accuses while attempting to do "business." You should absolutely avoid him and his company, Rainbow Play Systems. He lacks integrity from start to finish, and I personally know that he has attempted to defraud a single disabled mother of four children. AVOID THIS COMPANY AND ITS OWNER. Mr. Patrick has engaged in a pattern of threatening and defaming behavior, and he and his company should be avoided. {{Redacted}}

Terrible Warranty Response

Our play set experienced severe wood rot, making it unsafe to stand or play on. We submitted a warranty request, and then proceeded to get a runaround by the company for four months, with them saying the parts are on order; nope haven’t come in yet; call back next week... We are filing a formal complaint with the State Attorney General, Federal Trade Comission; and Better Business Bureau.
