Sick and Diseased Cattery

***Warning*** RAGDOLL BLUES Kitten Mill! Kittens with RINGWORM and EAR MITES Kathy Renteria/RAGDOLL BLUES does not take kittens to be seen by a Veterinarian from birth to being placed in a home!!!! Kathy Renteria/RAGDOLL BLUES sent kittens to new homes with Ringworm and Ear-mites infecting our whole house. Let me be clear. Given the pandemic our house has been isolating for nearly a year. There have been no animals or people other than our immediate family in the home. Our new kitten had scabbing and wounds when we took receipt. Having NEVER had ringworm I had no idea what was going on with our new kitten until 10 days into his time with us. Within 10-12 days we all broke out with ringworm, photos to follow. My elderly mother had it the worst. After surviving COVID she was infected due to Kathy Renterias irresponsibility. DO NOT get your kitten from Kathy Renteria/RAGDOLL BLUES

RagdollBlues - Ragdoll Cat Review

DO NOT BUY KITTENS FROM RAGDOLL BLUES. Whole family infected with ringworm, and unsuspecting friends. hundreds of dollars in vet bills and cats still contagious and quarantined almost 2 months later. Don't fall for her "ringworm is no big deal" or "my vet checked and didn't see anything" or "just use this liquid it gets rid of it in a week!" It's a lie and she will take thousands of dollars and continue infecting households as long as she's not held accountable. She also said she was closing her doors but I see she is still advertising new kittens. They WILL be sick (my cats had a parasite, extremely contagious ringworm, and one was so lethargic it barely ate). She also said she would pair cats with you according to your personality, then once you deposit, she says "you'll be happy with any of them". Love my cats, but at this point it's a rescue mission bc I could return them to her unsanitary home where she says she would treat them, or she would take them back for a full refund but only refund my money once she sells the sick cats to someone else. Please heed my advice. Find another breeder. Ragdoll blues is going to sell you overpriced sick kittens and you will regret it. She ruined Christmas for our son who has developmental delays (which is why we bought the kitties), and he still doesn't understand why he can't see, touch, or Play with them. I personally had to take 3 weeks of oral medication to clear my ringworm and he is still battling ringworm with daily topical treatment. Just DONT!

I read the reviews and I was wrong

Kathy is a nice lady, and she convinced me ringworm is no big deal and gave me a little bottle of liquid to treat "any spots" my kittens may have, after lengthy discussion regarding the health of the kittens and the ease of treating ringworm. Well, three weeks in, my entire family has ringworm (as well as a family friend who contracted ring worm from US.) I personally have between 10-15 ringworm spots on my body. Kathy convinced me that i could just spot treat ringworm on the kittens, and it would be gone in 5-10 days and told me not to go to the vet, do not give the cats medication for ringworm, nor isolate them since its not a big deal. My house is contaminated, my body is covered in a fungal infection ( as well as my toddler, husband, parents and their friends) . I spent thousands of dollars on these kittens and will spend hundreds more to make them well. They have spent the last week quarantined in my bathroom and tonight when i was checking on their skins progress, i realized they also have fleas. Her cats are beautiful, and they are sweet and I can't wait till the day i can actually touch and hold them, but as of now, the vet recommends 2-3 MONTHS of medication, isolation and a rigorous routine of cleaning with bleach and avoiding contact.( they would not handle the kittens without gloves). Her cats are amazing, but you will be out much more than you initially thought you would invest if you buy kittens from Kathy. Such a shame.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH RAGDOLL BLUES

I had a TERRIBLE experience with this breeder. Original poster seems to have gone through what I did when I dealt with Kathy. And no I am not a breeder just a consumer who had to deal with this unsavory breeder. I purchased two cats from Kathy. I also saw her home and it was a not in any way sanitary or a place you would want any animal let alone a human. In my dealing with her, it was clear she was only concerned about the money and was willing to say whatever she needed to sell a cat. One of the cats I purchased turned out the be a complete nightmare as he was already 6 months old although she told me numerous times of his good nature. She also agreed to give me a full refund then continued to state that she was out of money so I would have to wait until her next sale. I finally got a refund after so much back and forth and headache I felt physically sick dealing with this lunatic! Nothing about her was professional. Now I have one cat from her and she appears to have ringworm; taking her to the vet first thing in the morning. I can only assume she came to me with it as I have never boarded her or let her leave the house. Kathy you should be ashamed of yourself and I hope the state shuts you down. Oh and Kathy frequently changes her story and conveniently forgets what she stated or any facts. FIND A REPUTABLE BREEDER AND AVOID THIS WOMAN.

Other Product Review

I found Kathy at Ragdollblues to be professional and caring. I love my cat Charlie and he is the sweetest most socialized cat I have ever had.

Rag doll blues cats

We have gotten two young rag dolls from Kathy. They are beautiful, sweet, clever girls. If we get another, it will definitely be from her. We enjoyed visiting her cattery. She was a gracious hostess and educator about the breed. Both girls have their own personalities and get along beautifully with another cat and two dogs. Obviously, they have been well socialized by their breeder. Each of them integrated quickly into our family routines. They found their best cat tree spot, favorite games and preferred treats.

RagdollBlues - Kitten Review from Tyler, Texas

So i actually wanted to post a good post about RagdollBlues. Kathy was quite kind to me over Odin, my mink mitted ragdoll kitten. He warmed up to me pretty quickly and is a real sweetheart! I only had one issue with Odin, and my vet told me that Odin had a slight Staff infection (i think thats what its called). This type of infection is common in cats and can even be treated with human neosporian! Easy, cheap fix and it isnt even contagious. I actually didnt use the neosporian, but i did use the skin care kit that Kathy gave me and it cleared up the infection just fine. Odin is happy, healthy and I couldnt ask for more. When I went to pick up Odin from Kathy's residence it did not smell overwhelming of urine, and when I went inside her house was clean. I would definitely consider getting another kitten from Kathy Domney in the future.

Rag Doll Blues

With regards to Kathy Domeny; from Rag Doll Blues in Texas; we purchased two of her adult female cats in 2013. They came to us house broken, spayed and with shots. Aside from a little timid at first, they were completely healthy, happy and loving cats. We got the veterinarian to look at them, updated a few shots and moved on with everything. Unfortunately for us, it was not a happy ever after with these two babies. In January 2015, we lost our home to a fire, the cats were outside but the firetrucks scared them back into the house. The firemen were wonderful and located them quickly and brought them out. Cocoa survived but had to be on oxygen and revived in the yard, she has her picture with the amazing paramedic that saved her on the front of the paper, however, and this saddens me still today, Misty succumbed to the smoke inhalation. Moving forward again a few weeks, I notified Kathy, not because I had to, but because I felt the need to let her know what had happened. She sent her condolences as expected but went above and beyond and gifted our family another adult female cat not to replace Misty but to help Cocoa. She sent us Clover; Clover was what we needed to help Cocoa to heal and our family to as well. She never asked us for money for Clover and even had another family bring her to us several hours away. Clover again, came to us timid, but otherwise happy and healthy. We have now had three adult cats from this breeder, and have had nothing but wonderful dealings with her. I cannot say anything with regards to kittens as we have never purchased a kitten, we personally as a family do not want to have a kitten, so we always purchase or adopt older cats as a preference. However, even without purchasing a kitten, these lovely Queens, that we have purchased or were gifted were obviously loved and well taken care of. They are all loving, cuddly, amazing cats only that way by I can only assume their kitten and early years with Kathy. I will be returning to her in the future to get another “Queen” for our home as they are by far the best cats we have ever encountered, and I only have Kathy to thank for that. Not only as a person, a cat lover, and a business woman, Kathy has proven without a doubt to us that she is willing to go above and beyond not only for her cats but the families that gained their new family member whether new or old customers. I would highly recommend her for anyone that wants a ragdoll now or in the future.

Kitten Review

Beware: Ringworm in cattery. My kitten was very malnourished and infected when received. Multiple lies by email before owner, Kathy Domeny, fessed up to "possible" fungus. Poor little kitties living at her house! They need rescue!

Ringworm infected kitten

I, too, purchased a breeder kitten from Kathy Domeny a few months ago. I had never seen or had an animal with ringworm before and did not know it was covered with ringworm until my vet told me what all the little bumps on him were. It infected my whole cattery and I am still dealing with it. It has been a nightmare. Kathy at first blamed the carrier that brought him to me and had never warned me that she had this problem in her cattery. The kitten eventually died of the ringworm because it was so massive. I am now treating 3 litters of kittens, each time thinking I had them in a clean safe place, but the ringworm appeared, even with my constant cleaning, disinfecting and twice daily treatment on 17 kittens. I think it will never end and Kathy certainly changed my daily routine and enjoyment of my kittens.

Breeder is a hypocrite and very unethical. She sells interstate ragdoll kittens and has on her website that she has kittens in 11 states or more and sends them to unknowing consumers with active ringworm disease. My kitten came in RagdollBluesfilthy with claws unclipped, flaking and scabs all through its coat and numerous bare patches of skin on ears, chin, and numerous other areas of body that were raw and highly visible on first look. She has all kinds of psalms and biblical verses on her website and signs off saying "Blessings My Friend" and sends animals with a highly contagious skin disease that is contagious to all of your other animals and humans and is very expensive and time consuming to treat. In November of 2013, we put down a 50% deposit of $1025 on a young Ragdoll Breeder kitten that was to be delivered to us at 10 weeks via an air courier costing $300 from Dallas Texas. The breeder of this kitten was Kathy Domeny the owner/operator of RagdollBlues.com. This breeder guaranteed that the kitten was in GOOD HEALTH and free of any infection or disease. When our kitten arrived on January 19 at the Philadelphia Airport in a very small soft sided carrying case, it was quite obvious that the kitten was not clean. His fur was full of dry skin dander and his claws had not been groomed. In taking the kitten home it was necessary for my wife to hold the kitten in her arm since the kitten came in a courier owned carrying case and we had not been advised to bring along a case. My wife contacted Domeny as soon as we got home and told her of our findings. Domeny stated that it was pine litter and it was not dry skin. The kitten was examined on the third day by a vet and it was determined that the dander was Dermatophytosis (Ringworm). A scaly, crusted rash was found on the kitten skin that tested positive for Ringworm. When Domeny was questioned about this infection she said she did not know about the Ringworm, when in fact she had stated to my wife that she had this problem with Ringworm 4 times that required treatment and it was no big deal. Prior to this time my wife told Domeny do not send me an infected kitten. Domeny had 3 months to examine and treat this kitten before it was sent to us. This kitten was seen by Domeny's vet who is a horse vet and only stated that the kitten was OK to travel. It has cost us $750 to date to rid our cattery of this highly contagious disease caused by a fungi that requires daily treatment for 2 months. It is believed that this fungi comes from the dirt. She mandates in her contract that all kitten/cats must be kept indoors. Failure to do so will void the contract. This seems contradictory since she has a Youtube video on her website showing her cats out in her backyard rolling in the dirt (see attached video & images). This fungus has infected our cattery as well as my wife who has just had cancer surgery and it has taken an inordinate amount of time treating for this infection, and there is no end in sight. This individual has numerous sick kitten complaints against her and she refuses to do anything about it. May a word to the wise be sufficient DO NOT BUY ANY KITTENS FROM THIS BREEDER...
