Your customer service sucks. When I call, I have to listen to your stupid music

Slow costumer

they are slow and slower than a first grader how is it 1 in 10 agents are professional the rest are a bit self centered egotestical panty wearers that are down to there ankles the phone system setup is 80's mentality not everybody can automate to your dime store system and it makes me feel your dime store mentality! WWWHHEEERREESSS the BBBBEEEEEFFFFFFF paying for 2nd rate system!!!! equipment works til now customer service NEEDS HELP and MORE TRAINING!!! SUCKS

Paid to have a professional system installed in my home and video was blurry could not tell what sex the person was or color . Multiple times a tech would come out and give me the run around almost got cancer from all the smoke they blew up my *** . canceled my contract cost me over a $1084.59 to terminate a system that did not work.

Don't do business with this company Ever

I cancelled my service on10/31 . They told me i had to pay $750.00 because i renewed my contract over the phone in April 2018.I never ever got a phone call from them they renewed the service for 5 years and never told me. I just found this out October 31 last month. There is no contract i have and the $750.00 fee to cancel i dont know where it came from. I have been taken advantage of and have put in a complaint with the attorney general in Rochester New York and the better business bureau. I cant believe after 6 years or more that this company is the worse ever! I am 65 years old and is being scammed. Im seeing my lawyer tomorrow also. Please all be careful. They are liars and very rude. They make their rules after you get business from them. Im just so disappointed in this company. I will never refer them to anyone.

Totally screwed!

ADT/PROTECTION ONE Our house had burnt down & for a short time we were forced to move out in the middle of nowhere. I was scared out there & decided to have ADT installed for a short time. At the time of Installation we were told we could re-locate the equipment since we were moving out as soon as possible. So we Bought out the Equipment. When we called to re-locate we were told we had to pay a couple of thousand Dollars IN FULL to re-locate. Due to our previous place of residence burning down & in the middle of moving. I had asked.. if I could pay in payments. I was told.. I could NOT & if I didn’t want this going to collections. I could transfer over to Protection One, pay monthly & they wouldn’t send to Collections. I would have to purchase all NEW Equipment because the equipment I’ve already paid for wasn’t compatible w/ Condos/apartment buildings. Where I was moving I Really didn’t need any kind of security system however.. because I couldn’t afford to have this sent to collections. I agreed and started paying a new monthly payment.. for something I wasn’t even going to use.. to save my credit. So.. I was paying monthly for something I wasn’t even using in order to save my credit. I paid monthly & they sent to Collections anyways!!!! When I called they said..I didn’t Return the old Equipment (that I may add I Paid for in full!) that this is the reason they went ahead & sent to Collections & they refused to solve the matter. First of all! Nobody never asked me to return the old Equipment (that I owned & paid for) I would much rather return something I’m not using than to agree to buy all new equipment AGAIN and have to pay every month for something that I never planned on using in the first place! We are totally screwed! Now we owe ADT & Protection One I wouldn’t recommend them. I’m disgusted that I have to give them even one star to upload my review.

Resolved: Unusually long repair times

We didn't originally start with Protection1. We started with another company (I cannot remember the name it has been so long), that merged with ASG Security that then merged with Protection1. After completed we then upgraded from our Total Connect 2.0 by Honeywell to the Alarm.com eco-system that uses a 2gig panel with all new higher resolution cameras that have speakers, and look less boxy. It took them forever to get around to upgrading our system in Rockville (I have no idea why as NO ONE has a protection 1 system, and everyone around us uses a Brinks system from the 1990s despite the fact that division went out in 2004 and came back in 2018, but cannot support those panels, meaning no one had working security and we did.) We had to contact them FOUR times before they got around to installing the system, and when they did they slapped it on the original Brinks system pre-wire that came with the house, and the ASG system that used the pre-wiring from the Brinks. Leaving us with a non-functional security system for three months. (Keep in mind this was before the ADT merger and ADT was also a large brand in my area). On top of that it took FIVE hours to install just the PANEL which is mounted exactly where the old ones were (there were only two) and the cameras (which were also in the same place) I am not certain as to why it took so long as the original ASG system took an hour to hook up and test. The system is sort of reliable, but shows its age at times, when it does not sense a door is closed despite it being closed, they did replace some of our sensors with newer ones, but we asked for them to replace the hardwire GE sensors with new ones, but they ignored our request and installed a remote battery operated one. We cannot add any of our Z-Wave devices as you need the Master Toolbox code that only a technician knows as Protection1 modified the code from the default by 2gig, we have tried getting out of our contract, but the fee is ridiculous and they require a THREE year commitment. When ASG was there it was YEARLY. I don't know about you but being stuck with a Three year contract makes very little sense and the termination fees are the rest of the balance of the contract (which is the rest of the months plus somewhere around $300) We NEVER signed a contract with Protection1, Only ASG that is yearly. We never got documents from them transferring us and binding us to three year commitments that they re-new with our direct permission, nor do they notify you when the contract is about to expire, unlike ASG and various other companies. It is insane, and it will drive you insane, I have looked over the terms and since we never signed anything, nor did they get our permission they do not have legal rights over us and cannot charge a termination fee, but they claim they still can. W want to switch to an eco-system that allows for integration with Smart Devices that the Alarm.com eco-system cannot. As without the integration Alarm.com will become obsolete as you cannot control your system with as many through other systems that do not use the Alarm.com interface. We did try to switch to ADT, but if your house was built with a Pre-wired system and you try to get ADT pulse DON'T. It will cost an insane amount as ADT deliberately remove the pre-wired hardware from the 2gig panel. Meaning you have to use their proprietary hardware and software. meaning you cannot upgrade by yourself only a technician can, but you can hook up smart devices to it (it also means if you buy or sell your house the next person can ONLY use ADT as ADT owns the equipment and not you), however it is still limited and even with a Protection1 account, when we tried to switch when our "Contract" was up, They said that they would need to set up an account with ADT rather than porting it over, which would take about a minute as you already have all the information. I don't know what is going on, but it seems like they really do NOT want integrate the companies at all as you cannot get Pulse with protection1 or vice versa.

Over drafted banking acct. by $4700.00

I contacted customer service on or about August 6 about cancelling my service. The lady told me that I would have to pay the balance of my contract and submit my cancellation in writing. I told her nevermind I was not paying the balance of the contract because I was not aware that I had a 5 year contract. On 8/16/19 $2212.29 was drafted from my account. I called on 8/19/19 and was told that a supervisor would have to call me back. I called back on August 26 and was told that they would reinstate my services and that the $2212.29 would be put back into my account within 48 hours. On September 3 Protection one drafted $2112.67, $199.80, and $65.34 from my checking account. This brings the total drafted to $4590.10 in the month of August – September 3. According to my statements I should have paid a total of $909.27 for services May 22, 2018 – September 21, 2019. You have drafted out of my checking account ending 3410 as of September 9, 2019 $5347.47 plus I wrote a check in the amount of $101.25 which is a total of $5448.72. Not including the 4 months free, that I was promised in October 2018, you have over drafted my account $4539.45. If you add the four months free that would be a total of $4742.05. I have attached copies of all of the invoices that I received along with statements from my bank showing the amounts debited from my account.

Cancellation issue

Ok...moving to new location and it will take 6-9 months for house to be built. I can’t cancel service without paying next 6 months of service because of contract issue/length of service. Who has 3 year contract length? After having been with ADT for years prior to moving to Texas, you’d think it would be same time since it’s been bought out by ADT. Not one other service provider is charging me for cancellation of service! Horrible policy. You pay for all the devices, you pay for replacements, any service calls and overall service and then if you leave early you still get charged more! Never again and I’ll spread word to all new neighbors -1000 plus new home owners on the neighborhood Facebook page! Be warned.
