Unreturned security deposit

I've been trying to get my $500 security deposit returned for a year and a half. I purchased the contents of an auctioned unit. But actually after they took my money... I realized very quickly that wasn't at all what went down. After passing the amount of $2200 for this unit and taking my $500 cash deposit the manager took me to the unit... Well it was not actually the case that i purchased the contents. Actually i paid them $2200 to do a professional removal of self service car wash equipment which costs on the average$18,000. So rather than just drive up load up the stuff and drive away... We were tricked into 6 weeks worth of intensive labor not to mention the thousands we spent on industry specific tools in order to uninstall the items in condition to resell. I was ticked off... But... At the time i had multiple things going on and it wasn't worth the headache to take them to court... But now that I've been calling and emailing for s year and a half trying to get my$500 back in reaching the point of complete frustration. All i want is my 500 but about one more unreturned call and I'll be filling suit for the $18,000 uninstall, an additional $5800 for man hours and industry specific tools and rentals, plus the $500 deposit... Plus attorneys fees and court costs. I keep an attorney on retainer so it won't cost me a dime to file suit...

They are very difficult to work and I am about to lose my stuff

They are set up 49 take customers personnal belongings. Not to help them retain their property. I was in a car accident and got behind on payment. When to catch up one payment for June and the had already cut lock and added $100.00 more dollars and would not accept payment.

Horrid inept service.

My wife canceled her lease. I removed everything or so I thought. I accidentally left the lock on the unit. No attempt was made to contact us to inform us of our mistake. Prime continually charged my wife for four months and offered zero compensation. Lastly they wouldn't allow me to use my key to remove the lock. They cut the lock and charged an additional $25 Scummy company.

Refused to check security cameras

Had a thousand-dollar bike stolen due to a broken door from this facility. Not a word from the manager, and insurance refused to pay, because "there are no visible signs of entry", even though I took pictures of the scratches on the rail where the bolt was forced. Their insurance is *** and I'm sure they just let people in so they can go through your stuff at their leisure.

Termination fee

I was billed in February 5 of which I paid. On the weekend of February 11and12 I moved my stuff out of the unit. On the 13thi called to give notice that i would be vacationing the unit. The gentleman asked me when I would be out completely. I told him I was already out. But I was trying to give notice before the 15 day period. The next thing I know I was charged 35 termination fee because I had already moved my stuff out. Even though I had until the 20th of the month to give notice. So that I would not be billed in March

Billing practices fraudulent

Am disabled and friend helped clear and clean unit before moving out. All storage items were removed and loaded onto Pod to transfer. I got verbal confirmation my account was closed. Prime has been charging me since August 2022 saying unit is still occupied! This is false as sent them photos of cleared and cleaned unit and all storage was removed. I have confirmed unit was cleared and my account is closed. They are refusing to refund me the money taken from me. This is their mistake. I am going to have to take legal action as need resolved. This has impacted my health.

No after hours access as promised

When I rented my storage unit in December, last MONTH... I was told that I could access my unit at ANY TIME. I mean, why else would they give me an access code? Turns out the second time I've ever had to use my code I can't get it because it's after hours. What in the world? If I would have known I couldn't access my storage after hours I would never have picked this company to store my stuff. I have to be out by tomorrow (actually like 3 weeks ago) but I work ALL THE TIME, so I am not able to move my things until after hours most of the time. Thank goodness I packed my whole entire car full and someone's truck I paid $125 to, to make sure my stuff got moved tonight and now I have to unload it all from both vehicles, this man's truck and pay him yet again another time to help me get my stuff out. Why was I told I could access my until after hours and it would never be a problem when that is clearly not the case. There is even a sign on the door next to the access code box that says they never close BECAUSE WE HAVE ACCESS CODES! I am highly disappointed, frustrated and out a bunch of money because of this. Sincerely, A HIGHLY disappointed customer!

Continuing calls/threats-for past due charges-that have been paid.

We continue to receive calls stating-charges not paid? Despite us having receipts for having paid? I was told Prime Storage purchased Lizzies Lockers and were checking records. I asked for name of the person-who called us-I was told he was not required to give me that information? he hung up. When I tried to call back got msg-no such number? At this point, it seems that Prime-is engaging in less than legal-practices. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Customer service representative was great. Its the two employees at the actual site that are the problem. I reached the Storage facility and the two employees that were there did not let enter. Said they were closing at 1pm it wasnt 1pm , there closed before 1pm while I was on the phone with customer service and I made her aware but she was on the phone when the guy came to my car and was rude

Most unprofessional staff and policies ever.

Original review Oct 12, 2022
My car broke down and I was forced to stay with my car to try and fix it. I was kicked out because of one error in my first week of rental. Obviously I have hit hard times, yeah instead of asking hey what happened, without any explanations asked for they kicked me.out and gave me til no the 27th. Then they wanted to reduce my gate access to our when staff was there as well as TELL ME MY CAR COULDNT COME ON PROPERTY AGAIN. My situation was also unprofessionally discussed with a tenant seven doors down from me and I knew these people from my neighborhood. They had a personal relationship with the manager who decided to talk about towing my car with the tenants (I guess they didn't like my car being broke down either even though I was not bothering anyone). First of all what person doesn't have compassion for someone having car troubles? I was actively working on fixing it and it was fixed within 24 hours which I think is very timely so now I have until 27th to move out, can't come in until office staff is there, can't. Ring my car in property, and so I'm having a rough time. Get into a disagreement with the tenants who had an issue with me and my car a d they no kidding are there round the clock, I. Fact one tenants boyfriend is there every night until after hours so I feel unsafe and call district.manager to have my code released so I can come get my things when those tenants seven doors down aren't there. He says you will have to ight k my and then I will throw your stuff out. He seriously the next morning cuts my lock off and. Reals I to my until, calls me and tells me I have til 6, pm u til he calls the cops. I want my 47.00 e try fee plus the $30 for my lock back immediately.. That's reasonable considering how I e been treated.

I spoke to someone in corporate about my bill

I was charged an additional $150 on top of my $137.00 per the month of June? I was trading out my storage unit and my mother put a piece of wood furniture out at the storage bin I wasnt even with her and she said she didnt see any signs that said no dumping of materials? The girl that works in the storage unit says she called my phone to let me know they were going to have to haul it off the lot but I never was contacted. So she added $150 onto my bill this month plus a $40 late fee that brought the total to $340? I cannot afford this to haul that stuff off the lot cost more than the actual monthly fee? All she had to have done was call me back and I wouldve gone back to pick up the piece furniture? I dont understand why the girl didnt take extra steps to get a hold of me or leave a message on my machine or email me ? I dont feel like I should be responsible for this bill

Hidden Fees Cost More Than Rent. Denied Access To Unit Due to Inability to Pay for Unwarned Fees

Original review Jun 09, 2022
(Life Storage aka Prime Storage Group / XXXXX General Manager NH##@goprimegroup.com primestoragegroup.com 655 S Willow Street, Manchester NH, 03101 I placed my Ex's items (clothes, shoes, etc) in this storage facility (he knew) and I paid the first month's rent (62 for rent & 13 for insurance) on March 24. My Ex is currently homeless, on EBT, and looking for employment, so he, unfortunately, did not clear the unit out in time and missed the April and May due dates. I was told that $150 was due on May 24th (covers May 24 - June 23 rent). I received an email on May 26th invoiced for $315 (62 + 62 for rent, 13 + 13 for insurance plus a $115 Old Lien Fee added 5/24 and $50 Lien Processing fee added 5/24). I was not warned of these fees and they surpassed the cost of the unit's rent/insurance by 110%. Shocked, I emailed back 5/27 asking about these fees to see if they could be removed and said the storage unit would be paid in full and cleared out prior to 6/24 (the new month). I received no reply. Again, I emailed 6/8 asking for answers about these exorbitant fees. I received a new invoice on 6/9 stating $365, they added a $25 lock cutting fee (6/8 although they still did not respond to the last email) along with next month's rent and insurance (covers 6/24 - 7/23). I finally received a reply later that day on 6/8 saying they could only remove the $50 Lien Processing Fee and was told that I need to pay $290 within 3 days to have access to the storage unit, since they planned to add an additional $100 in 4 days if that was not paid in full (June 13). This has been a nightmare, I just want to pay the rent and insurance that was used which is only $150 before next month starts on 6/24, and never use this place ever again. I cannot imagine a company willing to charge a homeless person $390 for them to access their items before next month even starts to empty their belonging when only two months' rent and insurance is due equalling $150 in total. This company is gouging poor people in the middle of a pandemic with these hidden fees, ignoring questions when they arise, and making an absurd profit off people's weaknesses.
