BUYER BEWARE! This company does not honor its warranty.

Over the years we have relied on the Power Home Remodeling Group to replace 25 of our old, casement windows with newer, sealed windows and screens. We chose Power based on their lifetime warranty (95% satisfaction per their website) and their many positive reviews. The window quality also seemed excellent. It became apparent within a few years that many of their windows were poorly sealed. Moisture appeared between the panes, allowing a greenish mold or algae to form, clouding the view out. In May of 2022 i.e. 15 months ago a warranty inspector finally came, and approved the need to replace at least 12 of those windows. He did explain that due to supply-chain issues, it might be a year (thats 12 months) till the warranty completions. But that was the last we ever heard from them. Power Home Remodeling never took any initiative to update us. Now its fifteen months -- 15! since that warranty inspection. Thats plenty long enough, and our patience has run out. So, I finally took the initiative to reach out to Power to get some action. Power Home Remodeling Group makes it impossible to reach their top management and dealing with their customer service felt like little more than a run-around. I finally got a call from someone in their warranty department who wanted to give me an update. I dont want an update! I want action. I want the warranty work to be done! Now! Once we were happy to recommend Power Home Remodeling Group on the basis of their front end performance. But once they have your money, they dont stand behind their product. BUYER BEWARE!

Bad business practices

Very pushy salesman who rushed through his presentation. I did sign the contract and quickly found out that there was very little time to review the contract. Be very weary of the content and wording of the contract. Many loopholes. I had many calls with questions about the project and was treated with disrespect, repeatedly interrupted and spoken over. I was asked for payment before the work was completed. When I said Id wait the salesmen kept giving me multiple ways of paying that dayThis is the most unprofessional company I ever dealt with. I would never recommend Power Home Remodeling to anyone.

Worst company that doesn’t honor warranty.

A smooth talking sale man approached me in BJs and convinced me to replace all my windows . I financed the project and had it done . $22 thousand later and a few months after they were installed we notices spots on our large bay window. We called and reported the problem . We were told the seal was damaged and mold was forming inside the glass. Power window told us it would take a year to get a new window . I was beyond pissed .They said they were having problems with the supplier and there nothing we can do . Little while after that we noticed two more windows with mold . This time they told us they would send us the replacement wndows . Of course that never happened . Now more than a year later and many phones calls we still have to look through mold spotted windows . . I dont care what their problem is with the supplier , they should still honor their warranty in a timely manner . I need to keep my blind down all the time and its extremely embarrassing when we have company . Im ready to seek legal advice.

Gave a 1 only because that's the lowest choice I would rate it 5 below 0 wouldn't even recommend to enemies. Over 2 now we've been fighting to get our bay window repaired leaking molding and sagging.

Bad service they DON'T fix anything with their warranty. They just reschedule for months ahead but don't FIX anything

Leaky windows

Over 18 months ago April 2021 I called about leaky windows. They are so clouded that I cannot see through them. They said it would be at least 18 months to replace. So far they have not and when I call they keep stalling.I am so glad I didn't use them for anything else.

Stop wasting peoples time

Twice I signed up for an estimate, once at Sams Club, the second time at a home and garden show. Neither time they showed up. I called 3 different phone numbers for this company. Either I got a message that the office was closed or just dead air. Threes a charm and you don't get that chance.

Window Replacement

Power HRG came to replace my windows after 3 last minute reschedules. When they arrived, they immediately were confused, since they had the wrong number of windows in the truck and didn't have interior trim. Instead of admitting their mistake, they tried to convince me that I didn't pay for the interior trim and I had to show them my contract for them to finally call their project manager and confirm that the trim would need to be put in place at a different time. They then said a project manager would reach out to me to schedule a time for my half finished windows to be completed. Instead of the project manager reaching out to me, I had to call three times and the soonest they could come fix their error was 1 week from the day they started installing the windows. Normally this would be enough to drive most people crazy, but it gets worse. Since they were rushing to try and go home early, they busted my old windows out, breaking the glass. This resulted in broken glass being left all over my roof, lawn, and bedrooms where they just left it for me to clean up. They also slopped on caulk and gap insulation while throwing in uneven windows, which resulted in scuffed uneven hard to open "NEW" windows. The customer service team is only good at saying sorry, but hasn't been able to rectify the issue at all. I am warning everyone out there, that the price for these windows is not worth the sloppy, careless workmanship that you will be stuck with since they don't honor their warranty service.

Company doesn't care about its clients

Sales rep was great, promised us what we wanted, then the site manager came out and everything changed. The insulation in the attic was wrong and when I called Natalie the project manager she was very rude, she said that's not on your contract and wanted another $2500, but it was on the Sales reps note. The plywood estimate was wrong so we had to pay out an additional $2700, they did credit what they didnt use. Then the installer was there from 8am to7pm for 9 days straight not the 3 days we were told. Again Natalie didn't care, no apology, just excuses, and wanted me to sign off on the project so they could get their money. And when the project was done the Sales rep and site manager would come by and do a final inspection with us, we'll I was told that's not the case. Lots of deception and very poor customer service.

They have not contacted me directly. I've only received responses from the complaint posts, which we know are worthless.

They have my information, they could call me if they wanted to resolve this responsibly. Instead they post a PR response.I've called them several...

Still no commitment for warranty replacement of single window after 13 months.

Original review Jun 10, 2022
Purchased windows and installation in 2015 (project 31-4****). One window lost seal and clouded over (see picture). Called PHRG in March 2021. Initially they told me this was a simple replacement of single sash. Called a week later and was told the replacement would not come until November 2021. Called in November (twice) and was told delay was now to spring of 2022. This is a single sash, mind you. Called February 2022 and was told replacement windows are 12-14 months and no update on my claim. Called March 2, 2022 and was told they are now waiting on replacement window due first week of April. After that, service would be scheduled. This would be 13 months after initial contact for warranty service! Read other complaint sites, and you'll see Power has been building and installing windows all throughout 2021. Called April 4, 2022 and spoke with Joshua. He informed me that previous person I spoke with was incorrect on date given above. Now the date was pushed out to June indicating that they (Power) has 12-15 months lead time (change again). Why would anyone do business with this company??? Power has not honored their warranty yet - it will take over a year for such a simple replacement. Meanwhile, they are still selling windows to unaware new customers. Called June 10, 2022 and yep - you guessed it, the replacement window is not done yet. They asked me to wait another week or two. Read the reviews on BBB - you will see hundreds of customer reviews complaining about same thing. https://powerwarranties.com/warranty/ From this link you can see that Northeast Building Products Corp is window supplier to PHRG. https://www.pella.com/how-to-buy/partners/power-by-pella/request-quote/ From this link you can see PHRG has partnered with Pella. Perhaps PHRG's replacement issue has to do with dropping one supplier for another

Way too costly and the closed off an operablesky light

I would never ever recommend them. the are over price and sell themselves by claiming to have the best materials. Then they pressure you into it like they dnt give you know time to think about it saying this is one time pricing, and if you cancel they could lose their job.. my house its that big I have a simple roof shape. and I had a sky light which was operable. The closed off the sky light. I had called and complained multiple time with no resolution. a roof that could have been maybe 4-8k ended up costing my nearly 14k.. the are a scam.. so not happy with this company. and to top it of shingles aren't strong some are already out of please. if they knock don't answer

Installers haven't return to complete project

Hello: My project # is 35-3****. My house was recently sided with gutters. Oct. 11 was the last time I saw the installer. On this date Dave Howard was at my home and noticed the installers did not install the proper inside corner piece on four places. He sent an email advising my project # of this and told me they would return on 15 Oct. to correct this and any other areas that needed attention. On 11 Oct. at the end of the day the installers wanted me to sign off on the project wanted, it was after 7 p.m. and dark outside. I advised them I wouldn't sign off because of issues Dave and I spoke about. When the installer left on 11 Oct. he said he would return on 12 Oct., I guess to correct issues. On 12 Oct. I did not receive any phone call and to my knowledge no one came. On 13 Oct. when I went outside of my house I noticed my address was attached to the siding. This had not been done on11 Oct. When I looked at the address the number 6 was installed backwards. I corrected this. On 13 Oct. I called Power to confirm the Friday appointment for the crew to return, I also did my inspection of the siding work was done. I used lined paper to write down areas that needed some attention. I ended up with almost 2 full pages of notes for the workers. The gutters were installed on 14 Oct. and I signed off only for the Gutters. On 15 Oct. I stayed home all day waiting for the installers on the 15th Of Oct. No one arrived and I did not receive any phone call. It is now 16 Oct., Saturday, and again no workers and no phone calls. The lead worker for the installation crew spoke very little English. It was hard for the two of us to communicate. He was a little pushy on the 11th of Oct. for me to sign off on the project. He tried a few times to get me to sign off. I also told him it was so dark outside there was no way I could inspect the project which also required me to get on the roof. It would also require an extension ladder to reach the higher places on the house. I will call Power on Monday in an attempt to find out what is going on. Please, Please forward a copy of this email to Dave Howard. Thank you for your time and feel free to call me. I am retired and the early morning hours are the best time to catch me. The number provided is my home land line. I do not use a cell phone. Messages can be left on my land line

Based on our experience I don’t and will never recommend this company.

Unprofessional. No call no show for any appointments they set up with us. Worked not properly done. 4 months after new roof installed by power home remodeling with life time warranty we had 2x leak and they wont come take care of the issue. Will set an appointment and never showed up. I would like to report to consumers affairs .

Hope I can help

Too intrusive with questions and gathering personal info. I just had a gut feeling that it was not for me. Cancelled appointment, but as a result now will probably have to block calls emails and report future contacts per their terms in order to contact them. Wish me luck.

2 days of phone calls and talking to the guy at the door just for no one to show up at appt time

You people are a joke, thanks for wasting my time. I bet if I had told the lady I had good credit the guy would have showed up. I guess the inheritance I am getting from my mother will go to someone else.

SCAM COMPANY DONT DO IT!!!!!

They were to replace my whole entire roof and all my gutters and leaders. We chose this company because they were affiliated with BJ’s warehouse, it was a twenty-thousand-dollar job, so we assumed and very much implied by Power we were getting top-notch no-nonsense labor job/installation. Along with Top grade materials. They showed up to install the job on June , 2019. I am a former contractor and I cannot even begin to tell you all the poor workmanship and what a scam of a company this is. We are an elderly couple now and have been gravely taken advantage of, my house is worse off now after Power home remodeling worked on it. Please note everything I am listing below was verbally discussed in full with the sales rep, as I know what kind of work I’m looking for. Power stated verbally everything I insisted for the job is being done and would be done. These are the outlining issues that are now wrong with my roof because of the poor workmanship and quality of materials. 1.Siding over garage never removed impossible to flash-siding J channel never re installed. 2.Aluminum capping on gable facer never installed according to agreement. 3.Right rear back of house never replaced rotted facer, hole in facer. 4.New facer boards never installed right, not nailed off right and didn’t use correct nails. 5.Roof never installed chimney crickets said they did? 6.Roof never installed power vents approximately 76 feet 7.Power exhaust vents never installed not cut in correctly (attic) 8.Roof vent installed on roof, never asked for or discussed with me, interferes with the solar heat and must be removed and repaired, used cheap vents. 9.No vapor barrier between building and facer. 10.Never covered the inside of the house- what a mess…. 11.Never covered all the damage they did to my bushes still picking up debris, no regard for people’s personal space trampled all over them even though it wasn’t necessary 12.Never cleaned up after dumpster, debris all over my property 13.I had preexisting Windowrama skylights insisted they had to be taken out day of installation never mentioned to me when they came for inspection. They had to install two new windows otherwise the work wouldn’t be covered. So, I asked them not to damage the pre existing windows upon removal. So, guess what they damaged the windows beyond repair where they could never be used again, and installed two of the most inexpensive vinyl skylights. 14.All the siding on my house they needed to remove for the installation was never reinstalled. Then someone came to collect the Money, I told them all the mistakes, and he said someone will call me, and he also activated the power warranty for us, as we don’t have a computer. No one ever called us to come and inspect the job. We had to call repeatedly. Someone came out to the house July ,2019 gave me a song and a dance and told me someone would come out and inspect no one ever did and were still calling. He did manage to tell me the siding is not his problem as its not covered. Why would I agree to a job, a very expensive job no less and need to re do siding on top of everything else.
