Portfolio Recovery - Harm credit during pandemic
Portfolio Recovery only purpose is to report negative to your credit. They buy debt for next to then report you late during a period which they did NOT own the debt. The date is based on a specific date. This allows the company to report a consumer late every month. They provide no service except to enrich themselves.

I continue to get mail for collections from people who have not live here in over 15 years. They are an unprofessional company and people should not even deal or pay them a dime

Paid account off. I was promised that "within 30 days" it would be removed from the credit bureau. I am still fighting with them to have it removed, and they have come up with excuse after excuse. They WILL take you to court, so if you have any receipts, or reason to believe it is not collectable, save and document EVERYTHING. Every time you call them, DOCUMENT what is said.

Horrible experience with this company
Had an old account this company took over not only they lied about amount. I did not agreed on but, They are going out the most to mess up my credit , my identity, and to monitor all my calls in my home. I have switch from ATT and now I have Xfinity so beware of this in your home with company.

Multiple calls from them from different numbers all day
Call several times a day, never leaves message when I finally answer ask to speak to me about then wants to verify last 4 of SSN, told the person no told me had to verify account told them under no legal obligation to give them the Information. Looked up the supposed debt I supposedly owe, it is a credit card from 10 years ago.

My debt has been erased since 2012, and they are constantly calling every single day...5-8 calls per day. That's HARRASSMENT!!!!

Paid my Credit card charge off in full and Portfolio sent me a 1099
Paid my charge off from a Credit Card that Portfolio recovery bought for pennies on dollars. I paid my account off completely from original amount through Portfolio recovery and still got a 1099 and notices from IRS of additional income . This is insane .

I keep receiving calls from Portfolio Recov
I receive calls from Portfolio Recov on a daily basis. I never answer the phone. I also never give out my cell phone number, so I know it is not a debt call. They never leave a message. I block the number and then the next day I get a call from Portfolio Recov with a number from a different state??? This is harassment and since I don't have any information in my voice message, they don't know who they are calling.

Continued harassment even after account settled.
While trying to fix my credit to buy a car I settled with these insane predators. I got 2 letters from them stating my account was satisfied and closed. 2 THEY STILL CALL 3-5 TIMES A WEEK!!! I contacted my state Attorney Generals office. These leeches said in emails that they closed my case and weren't calling BS!!! I provided the case worker with my phone records. Again PR said they weren't calling. I have contacted that AG person twice since then because it STILL 6 months later hasn't stopped. This company is psychotic. They tell you its settled and they won't be calling but still do. Not even the AG can stop them. Your first call from them is the first of thosands. Not even a settled and closed account will stop these bottom feeding sumbags.
