Very angry man with scottish accent hung up on me when i reasonably suggested i'd like to talk through the issue with a view to them fixing it on the first visit

As per heading above. I guess i hit a nerve. Mr Scotsman did not want to discuss the problem on phone with me. This is normal procedure - ethical tradespeople like to get an idea of the problem so they can turn up with a view to fixing it. This guy said it would take 1 visit to look and another visit to fix. He hung up on me.

Scam - wrong advice, all horrible things possible, dangerous

Dear All, This company clearly is a scam. We need to do something about that. I am going to file a lawsuit and I was advised by a lawyer, that we stand a better chance of winning if we file a combined case. I have been reaching out to some of you, but if there is anyone else who would like to participate, please email me on: martyna.pyrek@***.com. Thinking of all the vulnerable people out there, we can't let these people operate and behave as they do. Thank you Martyna

Boiler repair

Charged £634 (inc VAT) for a job which literally took 10 minutes. Changing a valve on my Bosch 25 Compact boiler

Awful experience

This company (Plumbforce Direct Limited plumbforcedirect.co.uk) is really a SCAMD. I was overcharged £200 (the invoice says one figure and they took £200 more from my credit card over the phone) and after numerous phone calls, the manager Scott promises to call back and to process the refund. I have tried since early October 2021 and this is now January 2022. I read similar reviews in Yelp and Trustpilot. Their website is based on a number of fake reviews (all glorious) but the reviews in Yelp and Trustpilot are by contrast pretty awful. I would not get anywhere near this plumbing company. The ombudsman should investigate them.D

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have come out and gave us a quote of £429 Plus Vat. They have reported an F22 code error and that the pressure sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. When we spoke to the plumbers we work with, they have informed us that the part only costs £18 Plus VAT. There was no need to replace the said part in the first place. The plumbers that we work with have let us know that the engineer was overcharging massively and they also tampered with the settings on the inside on the boiler (they turned the dials down), so it looks like there is a big issue. All that was wrong with the boiler was that it needed to be repressurised and it did not need a part to be replaced at all

Scam! Don’t make the same mistake I did

There are so many similar reviews below Im annoyed at myself for not checking these before contacting Plumbforce, but hoping my review will ensure no one else makes the same mistake as they are scammers. My shower wasnt heating up, due to the thermostat valve in the shower. Plumbforce came over agreed that was the issue, found the cost of the part, and asked me to pay half then and then half after the job. They left my shower temperature dial hanging off and broken. Similar to reviews below, the engineer never turned up at the agreed time, and after countless calls to Scott where he lied saying they were on their way, no one ever turned up. Scott even asked the engineer to call me to explain but the engineer just told me I was being lied to by the company, he hadnt been working when Scott said he was on his way, and the part hadnt even arrived. After weeks of more useless conversations with Scott, I asked for a refund which they obliged, however this never appeared in my account. After more calls I received a credit note via email as if to prove I would get one, but of course nothing has come through. This company is a scam, pathetic and embarrassing, I really dont know how they can live with themselves. Even if you decide to go with them after reading all the reviews, do not pay any money up front, I have now had my shower successfully fixed by someone else and they only charge after completion which now makes total sense. They were also half the price Plumbforce quoted, indicating they overcharge.

Ripped off £156, no work carried out.

Enquired by email about having a gas cooker fitted, Got a call back saying £130.00 plus vat. I agreed was desperate to get the cooker in, they took card details saying they didn't take cash or carry card machines but said no money would leave the account until their man had been. Following day, Andy turned up brought no tools with him, asked if I had a manual for my cooker so I said yes it's stored away, I just moved home so everything all over at present, get it from the Internet. He then told me he can't touch it because we don't have a big enough tiled area above the hob, he would be in serious trouble if he did. Still charged my card the full £156.00 though for doing absolutely nothing. I certainly won't ever call them again and would advise everyone else to do the same.

Paid in advance but no supply of goods!

Paid in advance, missed two appointments I waited in for, and did not supply plumber or parts I had paid for. Scott in their head office promised several times to refund me. Promised he needed training to better service customers. Then said he needed Director approval 2 weeks later, still said he would refund me but DID NOT. COMPLETE COWBOYS DO NOT EVER, EVER USE THEM PS. they have since blocked my number, very telling!

Charged £400 but boiler still not working - they blocked my number

This company is doggy. I wish I had read the reviews. I contacted Plumbforce Direct back in June regarding boiler issue. They said engineer will need to look at it and give a quote. I been in contact with Scott. After payment made, took 1 week before engineer went back. They did some work but did not fix problem, saying they will come again. 1 month of chasing no one has come even thou I am given different dates and time. I been on the phone talking to Scott daily and promises were been made but not fulfill. Today I made it my mission to try and sort it out. I was told an engineer will come between 8-9am. No one came, so I called at 10.30am. They said someone will come within the hour. Waited till 1.30pm. No one came. I called them back, Scott cut me off and will not pick up my call any more. I tried few more times, they have blocked my number. I sent them e-mail asking for a refund but I have not got any response. Its seem like I have lost a full month of time and £400.

Charged my account and never completed job. Over 8 months chasing them to resolve, they ignore calls and emails.

READ THIS REVIEW PlumbForce Direct are crooks and I wished I read the online reviews before I booked them. Do not use this company!! If zero stars was an option it would be too high a score. Scott the manager should be sacked and has zero customer service. They charged me for a job they never completed! I paid 500pounds and have spent the last 8 months chasing them with phone calls and emails trying to get them to go round and finish the job. I had a leak in my bathroom which is still leaking and have now had to call another company to fix yet PlumbForce Direct withdrew money from my bank account without fixing the issue, the quoted for work they never did and they are so incredibly rude when you raise these issues with them, they don't seem to care. How is this company still allowed to operate? I am taking legal action because they have essentially robbed me. They gave a fake warranty which was useless because for the past 8 months I have been telling them that the issue has persisted but they have never gone to fix it yet charged my account. This is disgusting business practice and they should be shut down. DO yourselves a favor, DO NOT use PlumbForce Direct, you will thank me later. Make sure you find a Plumbing company that is CIPHE registered or a member of APHC because they are held accountable if anything goes wrong. PlumbForce Direct are not registered with any trade association, CIPHE or APHC so thats why they are so awful. Zero stars all round, do not be fooled by their so called low prices because you will end up paying more later not do.ChargedC

Terrible quality, timeliness and follow up

Friendly on the phone, but you are not talking to a professional company, they send inexperienced people, they do not follow up on what they say they will do and never turn up on time, if they turn up at all. During the cold snap a few weeks ago my radiators decided to stop heating up for some reason. I contacted these guys and had an engineer turn up (2 hrs later than agreed, and having to chase up twice). Diagnosis was a faulty thermostat. So I paid for a return and install of new hive thermostat. Same guy turned up (3 hrs late) spent 4 hrs trying to install it between lots of calls to mates working out how to wire it properly, and left with 1 radiator working, but told me it would 'flush through' and be fine. Still didn't work 2 days later, I rang back. They told me they could get someone to the house in 3 days time between 10-12. At 2 pm no-one at my home. I call and he is 30 mins away. 45 mins later I call, he is 2 hrs away. I decide to cancel it out of frustration and arrange for Pimlico plumbers to come and sort it out. Pimlico turn up exactly on time next day. Diagnosis in 1 hr is that the original thermostat was not faulty, the new one was not installed correctly, and actually it's a switch failure with my underfloor heating stopping water flow to rest of radiators. Problem fixed and everything working in 2hrs. I raised this to plumbforce direct in order to get a refund, and to date all my emails are ignored, despite having told me on the phone if I share the Pimlico invoice they would process a refund. I would not work with these again, and funnily enough Pimlico are cheaper, though you'd think they are expensive.

Scam artists, do not use - legal action pursing.

This company is run by scam artists and operating illegally. I was asked to give my bank details and invoiced before the job was completed. Scott who is the scottish guy, has blocked my number so I can no longer get through. I have had to get a relative to make follow up calls. I am £230 out of pocket now and trying to get my money back. I have had to follow up with my bank, to investigate. Have reported to trading standards and will be taking legal action. Im not even bothered about the money - its the principle. I hate the thought of people being taken advantage of.

Scamming theives

My story is the same as the others. They quoted £70 to unblock the sink but on the day they told me it was now £420. I felt I had no choice to pay as I had a new baby and needed my sink working asap. Their terms and conditions state that they will only increase the price if new parts are required, which they were not. The "job" took 10 minutes and after they left it became quickly blocked again within 2 days. They literally stole our money. Also, they didn't wear masks or any PPE despite my being assured they would. DO NOT USE this company or their sister company Plunger Ltd.

Pending refund

Original review Nov 13, 2020
They offered a plumber to come give an assessment on why heating was out at my rental. The assessment was meant to include a quote. Cost of assessment was to be deducted from job if I booked with them. He came, same day, but despite me phoning and emailing daily for 4 Following days, NO QUOTE OR ASSESSMENT WAS PROVIDED. Finally, Friday I asked for a refund - well see. Oh, did I mention the plumber did call after attending the site... but he woke me up at 5am because I was in a different time zone, even though his job sheet stated the time difference Did I mention that every time I called the office they'd promise to call me back but not call me back Did I mention that on day 3 when I emailed they emailed back oh Ill forward this to the quote Dept... quote Dept? There's a Quote Dept and they didnt already have the info by day 3 to give me a quote? Did I mention that when the plumber woke me up at 5am his first question was to ask what the other firm quoted me...I asked him why, he said, so He could beat their price. What? Sooo shady; If I'd said 500 he'd say 499? If I'd said 200 hed say 199? I said no, please provide your own quote and without missing a beat he just pulled a number out of a hat, but couldnt explain the breakdown (Parts, labor, rate). I told him I'd already requested the quote be in writing, and he said that would be done. It never was.

Fraudulent operation.

They quoted £80 to attend an emergency leak. When they turned up they immediately quoted £400 to replace pipework, they would take photographs before and after and would guarantee the work. This was a tenanted property and I could not attend to verify in time. Then they took two days to arrive, which caused more damage from the leak. They stopped the leak, but provided no photographic evidence and no invoice. Over the next few days multiple payments were withdrawn from my account, well over the £400 quoted. I attended the property weeks later and found they had just applied some silicon and no pipes had been replaced. I contacted plumbforcedirect multiple times but was ignored. Finally I went to the bank and they agreed and immediately reversed the payments. I have also reported them to local trading standards. Do not use this company. I cannot stress this enough. With everything going on at the moment the fact that they are willing to just abuse customers and lie and take money from your account is just beyond belief.

They take money, do not do the job and do not refund

On 21/9/20 they told me they needed to buy some spare parts to fix my leaking toilet. They took £598.80 on that date and they said the job would be done by 23/9/20. After many appointments that they failed to turn up to, on 10/10/20 their Scott agreed to refund my money. He said the refund had been approved and would be in my account within 3 days. On 20/10/20 I spoke to them again as there was no sign of my money. And on 21/10/20. They just keep making excuses saying that Scott is not in or their accounts department is not in. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE FRAUD.
