I had an appointment today but when they called I ask if they can reschedule because I'm not feeling good I woke up with a stomach virus, also I had to look for a clinic by myself without they're help for blood work they didn't even tell me who it needs to go to if you're looking to transition don't waist your time here.

Discrimination Lawsuit

Im seriously considering suing Planned Parenthood for discrimination. I was TURNED AWAY for saying I have back pain. Im a DDD - ofcourse I have back pain! The rude receptionist said muscle pain was a sign of Covid therefore she REFUSED service to me!!!! Absolutely RIDICULOUS to discriminate against someone for having large breasts.

Rude customer service

The ignorant *** lady that answered the phone today 7/9/2020 at 11:45 am, in the Upper Darby office, was SO ignorant. I'm telling her I have symptoms that require an urgent appt as soon as possible. She doesn't even sound like she wants to help me, her attitude was nasty. She said " we don't have anything until next week." I'm like but it's urgent and I can't sit on this for a week, Then she says "well we have something tomorrow morning between 9:20 and"hung up on me... I'm pissed because yall have these people with attitudes answering your hones when i need help! Now she keeps sending my number to a voice message everytime I call back!!! Of course she didn't give me her name.

Terrible planning on their part

I had a depo appointment (which are always set up 3 months in advance) and was denied my shot because of the outbreak. Apparently, the day before my appointment they called the number I've had on file for almost four years and didn't leave a voicemail because the voice on the inbox was male. Really? They think the number that's been on file for years is somehow wrong? So I show up and was told I have to get birth control through the app. Like, throughout the last month they could have given me that option in the event my appointment had to be cancelled? Two weeks before the appointment I call to make sure everything is ok and they said it was and that if anything changes they will call. Then THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT they call and attempt to leave a voicemail to cancel. There are ways to protect yourself while administering medication, what makes your physicians so much more special than the doctors and nurses IN HOSPITALS? Taking care of people who are actually ill? Now because of planned parenthood's poor planning, I have to switch from the method I've been on for four years to the method I switched from to begin with. Thanks for that.

Horrible

I phoned to request an appointment for my mammogram, and to report pain in my right breast. The phone representative identified as "GiGi" was curt and denied services until after May 1, 2020. A simple fax of my request to Quest Diagnostics, would have been helpful but she appeared to be ill experienced. New experienced representatives, whom practice "active listening" is needed.

Go someplace else

I went into this location for a routine well woman exam. They had me take off my clothes and lay down on a table. I waited for 45 minutes before I was examined. Later when I had a question regarding my test results, I was not able to reach a case worker at the 1-88*-898-**** number. Very discouraging

No respect for you if you have an abortion

I had a surgical abortion 08/28/19 due to concerns presented to me by Planned Parenthood over my pregnancy not developing properly, as well as, my own personal reasons. When I went in for the procedure everyone was amazing. They were all understanding, caring, and sympathetic. After waiting an agonizing 4.5 hours the doctor finally comes in with her team to begin the procedure, there was 4 of them total present during this ordeal. The nurse with the sedation was never given a chance to administer it to me before the doctor began the procedure. When she began she told me I would feel a pinch and immediate I let out a cry from how painful the injection with the numbing medication was inside of my *** and I’m imagining it was in or around my cervix. The nurse immediately panicked and told me she would get me sedated right away. The doctor continued what she was doing without waiting for me to be fully sedated. I was extremely upset and in horrible pain and I was obviously showing my distress with all of my crying. I have a high pain threshold and the last time I cried like that was when I was in labor. I think I cried more this time around though. The nurses were all very visibly upset as well as shocked at how the procedure was going and the feeling of emotion coming from the nurses from how sympathetic they were to my situation was heavy. The nurse conducting the ultrasound while the doctor did her part had to stop to compose herself because she verbalized that “she just couldn’t”. And I imagine she meant she couldn’t bear with what was going on. The nurse who finally got me sedated kept apologizing to me and was giving me words of reassurance and was just trying to calm me down. I kept requesting more pain relief and my cries were ignored. The procedure which was supposed to be 10 minutes max lasted an hour due to me having a retroverted uterus with a very curved canal which made the procedure a little difficult. I could feel the provider forcing her instruments through carelessly just to get the job done. I understand that it was a long busy day for them but that does not give her the justification for treating me so horribly just so she can go home. After the procedure was completed I continued to cry in pain and the provider continued to refuse to prescribe me pain medication for my pain as she said I shouldn’t be cramping anymore. My case was different and was obviously not the typical 10 minute procedure they regularly conduct. I had also shared that I had experience an ovarian cyst rupture the night before so I was already in pain. I have had baristric surgery and cannot take NSAIDS, and because of this I can only take Tylenol 500’s. They hardly do the trick I requested something stronger to help me sleep for the night and she refused. Finally after requesting to leave as I no longer wanted to be in the facility she caved and sent me a prescription for 3 Tylenol with codein which was enough to help me sleep decently. I’m very upset with the way I was treated and do not believe it was right of her to downplay my pain levels as well as her beginning the procedure without sedating me first. I unnecessarily went through a pain unimaginable all because she was in a hurry and I demand justice for her actions.

Just terrible

My daughter went to the one in Indy. They do not provide counseling, nor do they discuss options, they tellyou up front we have to provide this iinfo due to Indiana State law. This is a money making business by taking the lives of unborn babies. And it is done so by manipating young women at a volunerable point in their lives. This should be illegal. And I plsan on accessing organizations that lobby to end planned parenthood and other such clinics.

Horrible, rude service by the manager Monique at the Chicago Loop

I called in an made my appointment for an annual check up and due to experiencing some symptoms on 6/18/19 at 3:46 p.m. (providing my insurance information) for Friday, June 28, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. at the Loop location in Chicago. I arrived at my appointment at 7:57 a.m. the staff said they couldn’t find me in the system and refused to see me. I let them know I wanted to speak with a manager and that I took time off work to be there. The manager, Monique, arrives late at 8:11 a.m. and said she would look into it. Then she refused to provide me services. At first she said she had an 8:00 am opening and then insulted me by saying I don’t know if you have insurance or if you are even still covered (while holding my id and insurance card in her hand and looking at me up and down). I found that very rude and told her I do know I have insurance and am fully covered plus have a co-pay. I told her I specifically chose Planned Parenthood because I support the causes and services they provide. Then she called me rude and said thank you for your support, but I have the right to refuse you service. She then tossed my id and insurance card at me (on the counter) and said you need to leave or I will call security and all the cameras are watching along with witnesses. I asked for a pen and notepad to write down her name and her staff’s names. She wrote down Monique and refused to provide a last initial. I let her know I would be both making a complaint and filing a personal lawsuit against her with my husband. I am so appalled at the service I cannot return to a planned parenthood or make any donations. Imagine how a scared, pregnant 17 year old young woman of color would feel if she had been treated in the manner that I was treated! I do not believe she should be working and representing Planned Parenthood especially not as a manager.

Surgical abortion story

Where do I begin… I went into the Allentown facility too you have an abortion. I had made this appointment 21 days in advance. I planned on taking the pill form for this procedure and just passing it myself at home. On the day of my appointment I was told that it was too far along and I had to have the surgical procedure. Majority of the stuff were de-sensitized and came across as very cold and uncaring. I waited over a little over an hour after my scheduled appointment time. Then I proceeded to go back and have blood work and an ultrasound that’s what I was told that I had to have the surgical procedure. I met with a counselor who’s name begin with a K And I have to say she was the most supporting one there. I wanted to thank her so much for being so kind and understanding and even coming back and holding my hand during the procedure when I requested her too. I was then put into a waiting area where I was given an ibuprofen and an antibiotic and waited to be called back to have the surgical procedure. The two women in the recovery room were very very very nice. My name was then called by a nurse or someone that assisted the doctor in doing this surgical abortion. So I was walked back into a room that was very outdated and just had surgical tools laid out on the table. Everything just went downhill after that. So the doctor comes in who was an African-American woman. She seemed very cold from the start initially she asked if I had any questions and I told her I was just extremely nervous because I’ve never had this procedure done before. She proceeded to say if I was that nervous that I could go somewhere else and had this done where they can put me under a twilight anesthesia. So this was the start of her cold demeanor. They begin the procedure with a local anesthetic also known as lidocaine and that was not the most painful part of it all.The beginning is very similar to having a Pap smear done at your gynecologist. Once she numbed me with the local anesthetic which by the way I don’t think even set in because she immediately began the procedure, which felt like someone was literally ripping my insides out. It was by far the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life which makes me question is i was numbed properly. I read a lot of things about feeling cramping and This did not feel like cramps. I remember her getting agitated with me because I would not keep my legs open which is very hard considering the circumstances. Overall this was the most painful and hurtful experience I’ve ever had. My biggest complaint would honestly be the Doctor Who is very rude and condescending. She was obviously very insensitive to the procedure that people were actually going through, which is a Traumatic experience of terminating a pregnancy. She acted as if I was just a number and not an actual patient. I have an associates degree in applied science and a bachelors in healthcare administration I work for a reputable healthcare network in the Lehigh Valley in an emergency room and I do not ever treat any of my patients with that amount of disrespect. If I did I wouldn’t have my job. Overall I think Planned Parenthood should evaluate this doctor for being insensitive and somewhat cruel to the experience that her patients have to go through. I would honestly not recommend this to anyone or that Doctor and quite frankly I don’t think she deserves to have a medical license and practice. I do you want to say thank you to the one counselor and the two staff in the recovery room who are very sweet and understanding and walked me through the entire process With understanding and respect. I would like to say to the doctor that i feel sorry for her due to the fact she seems to HATE her job and has no type of caring bone in her body for her patients or what they are going through. I work side by side with ER doctors everyday of my career and she was by far the most unprofessional medical professional i have ever encountered. If you want a piece of advice seek out a Doctor Who actually cares about how you feel.

Incompetent

The worst. Made an appointment @1:30pm wasn’t seen till 2:45pm. I was told the wait would be 30mins or less. After being seen I was told to wait an additional 10 mins to be signed out, ended up waiting 30 mins before I went up to the receptionist and demanded they sign me out so I may leave. The women working here are incompetent, while the waiting room was packed full of people, they could be seen in the back having personal conversations.

A lot of the staff were dismissive with my concerns

I went in to get both birth control and a pelvic exam because I was bleeding during the first four times I had sex, 3/4 times it was very heavy. When I called to schedule the appointment the secretary was very rude to me when I said I needed a pelvic exam and possible pap smear, she then spoke condescendingly towards me saying "Most women your age don't get pap smears" and I ended up having to explain my situation to her and that I didn't want to get a pap smear for fun I was genuinely scared that I had cervical cancer, which I shouldn't have to do. My first visit they couldn't do both things at the same time so I had to get birth control first visit. Next visit I come in and I tell them about the bleeding. The ladies that saw me were very dismissive about it saying it happens when you FIRST *** The bleeding happened FOUR times. The ladies seemed like they better things to do than to care for the people that came in. I'm thankful I was able to get birth control and an exam but there's room for improvement

DON'T DO RAPID HIV FINGER *** TEST!!!

I love Planned Parenthood for so many reasons and have been thankful to have their help for the last 25 years, but I had a very upsetting experience with their Boulder Colorado office. All I can say as a warning to others... PLEASE DO NOT EVER DO THEIR FINGER *** HIV TEST!!! Do the actual bloodwork one that you have to wait a few days for. The rapid finger *** test gives false positives and you may be sick and worried for days thinking you have HIV!!!! We will never go to PPH again.
