Pool filters

i've been going to pinch penny since 2014.Last year an employee had me switch from the white filters to the blue. well he sold me the wrong size.. 3 to be exact at around $120ea.for over a year i kept getting sand in the pool.. when i went to tell them they sold me wrong size they were oh well. i only got 20% off my order that day!! i sent my daughter to get a filter last week and thank goodness it was raining and she didn't switch filter because again!! tehy sold me wrong size!! The size I use is in the computer!! I went to exchange and told them hey you guys sold me wrong size again!! how is this still happening?? and what if I used it.. she basically said it would have been our fault and I would have had to hit anoytebr one for $129.. I don't think wasting 300+ on filters and only getting like 10 offf my purchase was sufficient in compensating their mistake!! The only other pool store is miles away.. but I can guarantee I will drive the extra miles for this poor customer service..

DShowed up to perform a diagnostic. *** off system and did nothing. Then tried to extort a fee for a non existent assessment. Avoid at all costs!

No help with above ground pools

You cannot get anything here for an above ground pool so I would just let everyone know that should go to walmart instead. These prices are a rip off for something that barely works and the people in the store just want a sale and dont actually try to help you with needs. Always trying to get you to buy the most expensive thing ever and when you ask about the deals they tell you its not for above ground pools only deals on other stuff for underground pools. Then try to get you to buy the biggest bags and products when you only need a small bottle of treatment. I have gone to 3 different pinch a pennies and its the same everywhere. Sale sale sale but not for you. Or awful customer service.

Got cursed out by employee

First time getting serviced, my greeting was if he would have to ring the bell every time as I told him I would open gate and put the dog away. I told him if he comes every scheduled day at the same time no, I would have dog put away and gate opened. Otherwise he would have to knock. He immediately got bothered and told me to wait while he got on the phone. At that point I told him I didnt need the service, thats when he got irate and said *** you! In front of my neighbors who were outside and my ring recording him. I was expecting a hello, Im here to clean your pool. Save your time and money!

Watered down liquid chlorine

Over the past few months, the liquid chlorine I buy from the Boca Raton store isnt working and not even smelling like chlorine. Why are you watering down your chlorine???

Watered down chlorine excessively

Up to two months ago I was purchasing chlorine at the pinch a penny store in West Kendall Miami 10415 SW 104 St, Miami. I was extremely happy with the liquid chlorine jugs. All I used to use was two jugs and within minutes my pool clear and smelled like chlorine. Now they started watering down their chlorine where you cant even smell it anymore, even when you stick your nose in the jug. When my pool would turn green, all I needed were two jugs and within an hour it would start clearing. Today I used 4 and nothing is happening and I dont even smell the chlorine. This just started happening about a month ago. Prior to this, I was extremely happy with their product. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. THEY ARE STEALING PEOPLES MONEY!!!

Need additional services

I recently requested your services. 1) Since you initially came Wednesday but did show up the following Wednesday, I stopped payment on the 10/01/22 $130 monthly payment. After the next visit from last Friday, I will re-submit this payment. 2) There is a calcium deposit on both sides of the spa. 3) The overflow value needs checking as the rains from hurricane Ians deluge got stuck in the pool. 4) What is the cost of getting a new PDA for the Jandy, AquaLink Zodiac model 8265 remote control? 5) May I have a quote on repainting (two coats) and rescreening the pool cage with all screws replaced? 6) The pool vacuum probably stays in the deep end 80% of the time.

OVER CHARGED

Yesterday, I had to go to your store in an emergency for a pool motor the SAME motor I bought in 2017 from YOU for $269.99 (I have the receipt) and paid $419.99 for the one bought on 8/14/2022. This morning I was still upset about the huge increase and started looking online... WHY would this company ripe off a loyal customer, especially in a time like we are in right now??? Walmart - $214.99 Amazon - $305.00 Supreme Water Sales - $219.00 Leslie Pools - $214.00 Pool and Spa - $280.00 THE SAME EXACT MOTOR... I need you to do right by me. This is totally unfair, 23 years a customer!!!

Terrible weekly pool service

I hired pinch a penny for weekly full service pool maintenance. The pool guy would either not come or simply not do anything when he would come. I have attached pictures of the black algae that my pool has while having the monthly service with the pinch a penny. I canceled my monthly pool service with this company. The pinch a penny store that was servicing my pool was the one located on Sheridan street and sw 195 in Pembroke Pines. I also had to be calling the store every week to complain about the ese rice not given. I found a local pool guy.

Chlorine Container Policy

Original review May 24, 2022
I have been a customer for 22 years and when I first got my chorine containers I had to give a REFUNDABLE deposit on the containers. I had nice new containers and went to Clermont for years because they refilled the same containers. Later on they stopped and only did exchanges so I started going to the Winter Garden store because it was closer. I wasn't happy getting some cruddy containers occasionally but didn't have a choice. Last few times I noticed they kept refilling the containers I brought in which have some kind of sticky stuff on them that is very difficult to get off my hands, I talked to the fairly new owner today and asked if they only refilled containers now and he said yes so I asked for different or new containers he offered to try to clean the *** containers I had, I said I'd rather have different ones or new ones he said he could only sell me new ones at $9.00 apiece I said what about the deposit I put on my original ones he said he didn't recall them ever doing deposits. I ended up buying new ones because this sticky stuff was terrible even though I feel I should have had my deposit put towards the new containers. Another gripe is corporate policy should be the same at all stores, for example it is possible I may want a refill at another store and they may only offer exchanges and I lose my nice new containers that I paid $18.00 for. Bottom line is I should have been refunded my deposit or just given new containers for customer satisfaction. This really isn't about $18.00 but the principle of it. Rick Polland
