Pet Scam

I have been actively searching on rescue websites for French Bulldog puppies. They are a highly sought after breed, however with slight defects there are people who will literally dump them and I would love to take one forever as I don't care about showing it. There was a link on one website thru to pet classifieds, petads.com, and there were two listing, one in my hometown and one 200 miles away- a drive-able distance. I sent both owners extensive emails about why I would be a good fit for a puppy and asking for more information. I got one email back and about 5 minutes later, a second. My first alarm was that both emails were weirdly similar- poor spelling, kept swapping "he" and "she" when talking about the puppies, and neither were located even in my same STATE. The closer I looked, the photos of the puppies in one of the ads was not even the same dog!!! I replied to both asking what shipping service, and magically the cost went up $100 and it was a website called UShip. I immediately got online and started researching, and found out that this is very untrustworthy. Shipping dogs should go through the breeder exclusively. One person said their wife died and the puppies were the wife's, the other person said they relocated for work and couldn't care for puppies.
