Looking for an eye examination and the purchase of new eye wear.

I had an eye exam on Friday, May 19th performed by Dr. Choi for a charge of $84.00. After the exam I purchased a new pair of frames and decided to use a pair of Burberry frames of my own. The total came to $1699.00 for the new lenses and was inform two weeks later that both pairs were ready for pickup. Tried on both pairs and was unable see beyond the blurred vision in both. Im unsure of what Dr Choi prescribed, but they were totally off and the Burberry frames I supplied were twisted out of shape. I requested a total refund and asked for a call with their decision. I dont as later informed I needed to bring my CC in for a refund. They gave me a refund of $1699 to include the new frames and the lenses, but was told there would be no refunds on the fee for Dr Choi exam or the destroyed Burberry frames. In my book, Im out the $250 for my Burberry frames and the $84 for a horrible eye exam prescription.

Cost asked for call back

Never got a response from the place they need to refund the money I asked if there were any discounts and they said no so I went home and looked online and found a discount. I feel they need to refund the money and I never got a response out of anybody.

I'm extremely upset

Within 4 months Of receiving my glasses the no glare started to come off and The manager told me to bring them up there and If he could tell that it was the material following off and not a scratch he Fix it for free it's Only one Lens the right where the materials coming off nothing's wrong with the left, I brought them up there and he says there's a scratch that's b*****

The WORST EXPERIENCE

6/29/22 went in with prescription in hand should have walked out immediately but didnt #1 frames and lens ordered 2 weeks frames to flimsy for strong prescription, return to store #2 different frames selected wait 3 weeks lens were doubled thickness..asked for money back NO REFUNDS #3 different frames waited 3 weeks..Lens were even thicker than before FILED A COMPLAINT. 1 call come back to store and try againNO IM NOT COMING BACK FOR 4th TRY I want my $1053.00 back.. HAVE HAD NO MORE CONTACT WITH PEARLE NO CALLS, EMAILS NOTHING PEARLE VISION IS THE WORST

I have phoned the New York Pearle Vision about my terrible experience with one of their outlets.

I ordered prescription Ray Ban sun glasses in March 2021 in Pearle Vision store at 2466 Yonge St. I picked them up on 01/25/21 and 2 days later the store was closed permanently. The prescription for distance was not correct. Both my optometrist and ophthalmologist found that the it was off. The total cost was $1600 and I can not drive wearing those glasses. Neither the head office or any other Pearle Vision will do anything to remedy this situation. I have told everyone I know to never use this company. No satisfaction or recourse with this problem and loss of money.

Overlooked eye issue

I had been going to the Nashua Nh location for almost 10 years. My insurance was very good and usually the people working there would be annoyed at the fact that they couldn't upsell because my eye med insurance was phenomenal. That's a very minor issue though. During every visit I expressed my concern about my left eye being blurry, got the full exam every visit and they expressed nothing was wrong. Flash forward to 2 years after my last exam. I moved to a different state and decided to go to a different eyeglass chain. I no longer have that insurance so their prices were great and within my budget. I had the full exam, for glasses and contacts. My dr was surprised to see I have cataracts in my left eye and stated it's been there for a significant amount of time. Now I am 39 with cataracts and need surgery before it gets even worse. The new Dr stated it's been there longer than 2 years. I'm disappointed they didn't take me seriously and didn't catch this issue. As far as I know that location closed.

Customer complaint

Waiting for sons glasses it's 3 weeks told haven't even made it to the lab yet this is unacceptable the day of his appointment the women was very rude my sons glasses broke so he don't have any and is having a hard time without them what is the hold up i will not take him there anymore very disappointed

Zero star

Pearle Vision at Park Meadows in Colorado employee by the name of SHELLY was VERY VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I came in for an appt and Shelly said that it was cancelled. When I asked her what the reason for cancellation and why I was not informed by calling my phone, she said that it was not her job to call No apology or whatsoever!!! Shes RUDE and looked like she did not want to be bothered for any further questions related to my appt..

Failure of an office to provide me with my order and was told I only ordered one pair

As was sent to the store manager: I, Mona Éder, ordered the following (Marchon) frames. They were a special order. In addition I order a $100.00 frame and the lenses were supposed to be free with those frames. The frames were coppery in color and a full frame. I received the following text on 6/16/22: Hello, this is Pearle Vision. glasses are ready for Mona and Joseph. Hours: Mon 9-7 (Lunch 1-2), Tues 9-6 (Lunch 1-2), Wednesday 9-5 (Lunch 12-1), Thursday 8-5 (Lunch 12-1), Friday 9-6 (Lunch 1-2), and Saturday 9-5 (Lunch 12-1). Closed Sundays. We arrived on Friday 6/17/22 and the following frames were at your store waiting for me: I borrowed them so I could perhaps see. But they are heavey, and painful because the lenses have a sharp ridge as do the nose pieces. They are the wrong color altogether. We were told by a very brusque employee whom was not from the store that she didn't know what was going on but that the general manager would be in on Saturday 6/18/22 between 1400 hours/2:00 PM and 1700 hours/5:00 PM. I again left work early and when we arrived the person minding the store was not versed in fitting lenses or following up on the order. I was told that the general manager would be in on her off day and would call me. I never received a call. I called again not long after you opened and was again told that she would call me. When I had still not received a call I called back just after 1600 hours/4:00 PM and was told that I would receive a call before the store closed at 1800 hours/6:00 PM. I followed up at 1755 hours/5:55 PM before the store closed and was told that only one pair of glasses had been ordered. Even with a refund I have lost 5 hours of overtime pay! And no one has truly attempted to follow up with me. I have had to take the time myself. I will be forwarding this information to your customer service.

Glasses do not work

I could not read out of my glasses. I had to lift them up to read from the bifocals. The frame I chose was to large and was causing the the problem. They let me chose another frame and made me new glasses. I have no problem now seeing. I am grateful for them helping me with my problem. Thank you so much.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. I have called and sent messages and I get no response. I asked to speak to a manager and still no call back

Doctor

The doctor at the Bridgewater store is so rude. Shes even rude to the people she works with. She should not even be practicing the way she is to people. I over heard how so spoke to the girl that took my paperwork an that ridiculous if i worked for with her i would put her in her place, she is no better than the next person.

Customer Complaint

I have contacted the local Pearl store 9 times over the last 10 days and requested a return call as they are never in their store. They have not been able to return a call to address the problem with the sun glasses they prepared for me. My girl friend called them to set an appointment to have her eyes examined. She has called 6 times and no one as yet has returned her call. Their excuse is they are short staff workers and only open their store on pleasant valley road in Peoria, Az., a couple of days each week and then only for a limited number of hours. I have attempted to talk with some one in the Pearle corporate office but that is a joke. I recommend anyone thinking about using their services should check out the customer complaint page on their site and stay away from them. They should not be allowed a business liscense. L Whitehead

Complaint continued

After my intial complaint the retailer was told by Corporate to contact me in regards to the situation from 3/30 to apologize so I received a call 4/5 at 4:08pm from Linh Nguyen (store manager) stating that I am to call you to defuse the situation and I wanted to apologize take it how you want and I was appalled! She is still not taking the way she handled things like she did nothing wrong! She needs a customer service refresher!

Resolved: They do not guarantee any of their work. They sold be a bad lens and did not care.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with settlement agreement. I settled for a complete reimbursement of all my cost of the glasses and court filing. Instead of just fixing my glasses which would have cost them next to nothing, they paid me back everything in full..

I since bought a new pair from Warby Parker for about $100 that has all the scratch resistant stuff on it for free as well as a 1 year scratch warranty for free. Because I no longer need the $300 pair of defective glasses I made a youtube video showing how the one lens is defective and gets more scratches every time it is wiped.

I never bought glasses from Pearl Vision before and never will again. I have been wearing glasses every day for 40+ years and never have I ever had such *** lenses. I bought a pair at Pearl Vision in Paramus NJ, because it was close by while I was waiting for something. Within a few months I noticed a couple curved scratches on one lens. I just thought oh well they got scratched. It happens. No big deal. Over the next few months I noticed more and more scratches on that same lens. All the scratches were curved and in the center. The other lens was scratch free. I finally realized every time I cleaned my glasses with the magical glasses cloth, that one lens got more scratches on it. The other lens was still pristine using the same cloth. I went down to Pearl thinking they would replace the obviously bad lens. I was shocked at the attitude I received. They told me I must have just scratched that lens with a bit of dirt. I said clean the one side and see more scratches appear. They refused, probably because they knew. They said it was my fault but if I paid $50 I could get the warranty and get 2 new lenses. They were doing me a favor, otherwise it would be $200. I told them I would not pay them anymore money. I could not believe that they did not even guarantee their lenses for 1 year without paying extra for a warranty. The warranty is obviously because their products are such crap. Beware that Pearl sells defective products and does not care at all about it. Even my cheap *** glasses from Americas Best lasted 3 years before the coating started to come off. Pearl Visions lenses failed within less than a year. I now need to buy new glasses without any insurance since Pearl Vision stole that money from me. Shame on them. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use them. Go to Lens crafters, Cohens optical or even Americas best. I have never had lenses fail before this. My glasses from Cohen and Lens Crafters lasted years and only got replaced when my prescription changed. I also put in a complaint with the BBB and a review. For the complaint they just reiterated the same thing they said in the the store. For the review, they lied and said both my lenses were scratched. This is because there was no picture on the review. They are unscrupulous. The fact that they lied in their response to the BBB review is liable.
