Customer service

I would like to apologize to the customer service rep. I know she doesnt make the rules, but the rules are stupid. You can email me this for a review but you cant email my extended rental agreement. That doesnt make any sense. I explained to her I needed that for my records.

They took $250 off my credit card and didnt Put all of it back! The only reason I think they did it maybe because the vehicle had explanation Points on it and was saying that it needed service and something was wrong with it and I called them and It was the next morning and I was out of town and I had to stop whatever I was doing and driving hours away and bring the car back and exchange vehicle and the vehicle was on 3/4 of a tank and it got like that by bringing it back to them and that wasnt my fault and it wasnt on a full tank because of them and I told them and they said ok and they mustve took the different out of my deposit and Im PISSED! The other vehicle was on full when I brought it back! I WANT My deposit to be $250!

I have a valid complaint

I rented a car in Puerto Rico. My initial bill was a $157 after everything was said and done, the final charges was $498 so I put a complaint into the corporate office waited 20 minutes. The woman got on the phone after about 10 minutes. She dropped the call. I never heard back from the corporate office..

Disappointed and dissatisfied

I was charged a $250 cleaning fee two weeks after returning this rental car to Dallas/Fort Worth. This car was returned in excellent condition. Yes, there were specks of sand and dirt on the ALL BLACK interior, but that is all and it could easily be vacuumed up. Some of the sand and dirt was already present when I rented the vehicle. Either way, this doesn't meet anyone's standard for excessive dirtiness, even their own. Payless Policy "Charges for cleaning vehicles that are returned in such poor condition that the vehicle must be sent out for detailing, will be charged in proportion to the level of cleaning that is needed. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicles returned with food stains on the seats, dog (or animal) hair that cannot be removed through normal vacuuming of the car, excessive odor, smoke odor, and cigarette burns." It does not state sand/dirt on the floorboard that can be easily vacuumed up. Also, some of the dirt on the floorboard was already in the car when I picked it up. Don't you always vacuum your cars before renting them to customers? I hope that is true... Also, I was willing to let this slide before, but the vehicle was in very poor condition. In comparison to other rentals I have driven, this one had high miles, had paint chipping on the exterior on all sided, carpet was shabby and pulling away from the sides of the floor board, and the car wasn't cleaned well. In fact, I had to stop at a gas station shortly after pickup to clean the inside and outside of the windshield. My theory - This rental car was over 50k miles and needed to be detailed before selling it, so they wanted me to pay for it. Whether that is true or not, I will never know, but I feel that I have been dealt with in a very dishonest manor and the Dallas/Fort Worth location tried to take advantage of me to boost their bottom line.

Left items in car at smf

I returned a car at Sacramento airport Tuesday. Tried to call but always busy. I forgot my drivers license and a debit card in the car. It like for you to send the cards to my location. Gave us a vehicle that had issues

How the heck are you going to give a car to a customer that has issues with the gas tank. Do they not fill the gas up all the way when filling up a vehicle they shouldve check that before giving us the car. If they really even try to fill up the gas tank all the way they wouldve saw that we were already having this issue.

Bad experience

Never hire car from website paylesscar.com. Payless is franchising of Avis. When I came in the office to rent Avis didnt see my reservation. On the question: why you dont see, coz i paid online via site, answer was: dont know. Confirmation didnt come on the email. So I didnt have confirmation number. I tried to reach this Payless no number no email nothing. Avis rental also doesnt know anything. First time in my life I saw such mess.

Asking for a short return extension

Whe I asked to return my vehicle 3 hours later than expected, but still on the same day I was told that I was going to be charged an additional $100! Absolutely ridiculous policy!

The worst car rental experience I’ve ever had!

Went to rent a car for a few hours, was told when I checked in Id have to pay a minimum California insurance rate of $24 to rent the car! I have insurance and did not read this in the fine print. Also was told I needed a $500 deposit! Good lord Ive never had this kind of deposit put on me. Then she mumbled something that brought it down to $250. The car had almost 50,000 miles on it and was scratched and dented all over. I asked for another car which was in better shape and thoroughly checked it out. When I returned the car with a full tank they insisted it was 1/8 of a tank short and charged me $29! There was no recourse at the time as I was in a hurry to catch my flight. Now Im trying to figure out when Ill get my deposit back and no one will answer the phone. Had I known there was going to be this much hassle and expense and rude, indifferent behavior when I returned the car I wouldve stood in line at Budget or Hertz. I guess theres a reason there was no line at Payless. This was definitely no deal.

Roadside assistance

Do NOT rent from Payless if you expect any type of service after the sale. They do not answer their phones at the location where you picked up your car, so if you need to extend your reservation, forget it. If you need roadside assistance, GOOD LUCK. I waited 5 hours in the middle of a sketchy area of Las Vegas and NO ONE ever showed up. I literally had to leave the car on the side of the road and get a ride to my hotel. Had to Uber in the morning to airport at like 4a to make sure I made my flight. The WORST customer service experience of my life. Note: I booked through Priceline and they also washed their hands of the situation and told me to call 911.

Bad car poor customer service

Battery died. Had it jumped. Was total the battery is totally corroded and the vehicle should be replaced. Spent 2 hours on phone waiting to be connected to right place. Have kids to take to the airport. I rent many cars. This is the worst experience ever.

I am still upset with the customer service my wife received at the terminal where she picked up the car either employee the checked the car out to her was rude to her

And at the time of pick up of the car charged her an incorrect deposit amount which in turn caused my wife and I a lot of emotional and financial distress having to find a way to come up with the money for the deposit so that she could get the car and have money for food and things while she was there and Im still dealing with the financial issues from that now and all I got was that the employee would be talked to no other compensation at

Over charged

Do not rent from pay less!!! First off i locked in a deal with Expedia at 300ishhh dollars, when it was all said and done it was 900 + dollars later. I didnt receive the deal i locked in obviously.the car I received, it was the crappiest car on the lot, which it was wrecked and damaged. For the price i paid i shoulda had a car where i felt safe and reliable but instead i ended up taking it back. I only ended up keeping it for 2 days technically if we count in the turn in day and even then i might as well paid for the full week! It was awful customer service. Having to deal with this kind of mess as soon as i land in san juan was a nightmare! And not how i wanted to start my vacation. I feel like i was robbed and it kinda ruined what i wanted to do. Moral of the story company is a total rip off dont waste your time. And when u try to get ahold of someone good luck!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

I rented scar from your company, I tried to contact one of your supervisors but they keep hanging up on me and refuses to talk to me. I’ve tried to call several times including your Jacksonville .

I rented a truck from your company in Las Vegas for four days, unfortunately my friend accidentally took the keys home by mistake, she fedex the keys overnighted them to Payless they are saying that they are taking $443.00 for last keys that they had already received. They took another $800and change out of my account with out my consent or even talking to me. Ive exhausted every my options with your company. It is unfortunate that I am being stigmatized by your company. I also wanted you to know that I will never stop trying to get my money back that I work so hard for, even fighting you in court and making you this company Payton my lawyer fees that I am sure you will have never to pay. This company have a bunch of scam artist who is preying on other elderly people. They have no respect for others. Your supervisors are not nice. If I was white I would never have to go through this. They would have taken my calls. I am very disappointed in you.
