They are dishonest and do terrible work

While doing demo for water damage They cut a cable for my new in wall speakers, it's never been fixed. They were paid by our insurance to replace the light cans in the ceiling and I caught them just drying the old ones out and complained about it they said that I agreed to this, they painted the walls white while I was at work and said that there Painter recommend it because it would look better. They had to repaint and still did the wrong color. They used my pool table as a workbench and then denied it. I have pictures on my security camera. They moved the pool table and never put it back. They were paid by our insurance to move furniture. I could go on and on. What a nightmare.

Stay away. They don't show up. It is all subcontractors with NO oversight or management

Original review Sep 06, 2022
They did not cover my carpet. They did not show up. Scheduling was terrible. I went 5 days without furniture before the job and I am on day 6 after the job was "sort of" done and I still have no furniture. They just do not care. They all BS well but do not follow through.

HELP OTHERS FROM A DISHONEST CONTRACTOR

I wish I would have seen a huge advisor to KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND ALL PARTIES INVOLVED WITH THEM!!! They are thieves!!! Charging my insurance company for stuff they didn't do. Charging me for things outside of what the Insurance company authorized. (that I did not agree to). Several of my personal things went missing, as well as household items, Sink, Faucet, Garbage Disposal, Outlets, remotes to fans, light, ect....USAA has them on a Contractor List, my unfortunate and very unpleasant experience to have had them come up on rotation for the repairs to my home. What was supposed to be a simple Roof , floor and paint job turned out to be anything but.... The "Project Manager" or lack thereof was never there to oversee the work that was being performed. My kitchen cabinets were destroyed along with the walls and electrical that I had just done and permitted. Paul Davis did work without the proper Permits. I was left to pay for Fines from the city for work performed without a permit. Gordon the owner is a liar and he stated that my home received several coats of paint (4) to be exact. I have video showing their workers only doing 2 and not even a good job at that. I had to hire another painter to come in a fix and repaint all the walls in the house, to include all the baseboards that were painted black and in doing so stained the bottom of the white walls and new TIle.... The paint started peeling all along the baseboard area. And in various spots. You can clearly see where a paint brush never touched the walls!!! You might as well forget about mentioning this to the owner Gordon as he does not give to *** about the workmanship, he just wants to charge the insurance companies and YOU for shady work being performed. I come and post this with all the PROOF and will post in due time to expose this thief!!! The Sub-Contractors he deals with have said nothing nice or good about him/company. One contractor that I had to call to come out and finish the work that he was paid by the Insurance company to do, advised he was unaware that Paul Davis was using his company to pull permits. Under!! What?! Then I had to pay this subcontractor out of my own pocket. That happened with 2 other subcontractors. IF YOU DON'T AGREE OR ARE UNHAPPY WITH THE WORK, WELL YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK... HE WILL PLACE A LIEN ON YOUR HOUSE!!! Instead of being an honest person and come to you to fix whatever you are unhappy with, he chooses the dishonest way out.Grab your money and go. The aftermath of what was done to my home and family, I would not wish on ANYONE. PLEASE, I strongly suggest you heed my WARNING. Anyone needing proof before I expose this companies crooked practices can email me, apraolovesbullies@***.com. I'd be more than happy to share what I have. His motto for his business is purely fictional., He is not helping anyone but himself to your money! You are a bad bad person Gordon Berken, you know what you did to my home and family, shame on you!!!!! You will either learn from this and straighten your company and work ethics, or I hope your business closes so you can't do this to anyone else!!!!

Horrible Experience

We were under the direction of Liberty Mutual Ins to use this company since this was a homeowners claim. The small water damaged project has been on going Since March 15th, 2021 and the project is still not completed as of June 23rd, 2021. Every step of the way we have had to supervise all of the work that has been completed. They want to use cheap material and cut corners. They do not follow through and the contact is obsolete. Worst experience we have ever encountered.

Cut up our boat's anchor rope to tie sandbags to tarp!

Paul Davis crew came out and put a tarp and sandbags on our roof. Today when we were removing the sandbags, we were SHOCKED to find their crew had taken the anchor rope for our boat anchor and cut it up to secure the sandbags to the tarp. The rope costs about $25.00 to replace, but that is not the point . It was in our garage, so the crew was in there looking around then took the rope without our permission. What kind of people are they sending out to do this work?!? They knew what they were coming here to do, why was it necessary they take and use our personal property? This behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

What a scam

Our offsite storage unit was in a fire in February. In late March we were finally allowed access and also evicted, so they could raze the building. The boxes that had been on the bottom contained mostly books and LPs. These were damaged by water, and by the mold that had been given ample opportunity to destroy everything. The local Paul Davis was contacted to move these items to a place where they could inventory and clean what could be cleaned. They were repeatedly asked for a quote which they never did provide. The inventory they provided was vague and incomplete. When I asked about picking my stuff up, they said they would not release my possessions until my insurance company paid their $6,500 bill. When I mentioned court, they decided they would refuse to clean anything, and insisted someone pay their $3200 bill (the $6,500 evidently included cleaning of some sort). The thing is, they don't know the difference between a VHS VCR and a Betamax VCR, even after being told multiple times, and yet, they think they are entitled to huge sums of money for taking a few pictures. The entire contents can be replaced for about $7,000, except of course for certain irreplaceable items such a three High School yearbooks, and family crystal, and out of print records. They have the audacity to deny that our possessions are being held hostage. What else would you call it? The picture is their idea of inventory of a book, with title, author, publisher, edition, and ISBN #.

Cust. PRevious

Customers should know that even if things are considered "total loss" like gaming systems, Switches, computers ETC. you can keep these items if they still work. There's a few girls there that will snag that before you are told you can have them and go through and sell them off to people. They also frequently speak badly about customers and management in front of customers. EXTREMELY unprofessional in my opinion. I'd be checking the offer up in WA state if you would like those items back.

TERRIBLE WORKMANSHIP, MISSING ITEMS, I WAS IN HOTELS FOR 6 MONTHS FOR SMOKE DAMAGE TO MY HOME NO STRUCTURE DAMAGE, ITEMS BROKEN AND LOADED INTO MY BATHTUB, REPRESENTATIVE TRIED TO FORCE HIS WAY INTO MY HOME AND CAREGIVER THREATENED TO MACE HIS FACE AND CALL THE POLICE TO MAKE HIM LEAVE

Poor and deceptive service

This company is a walking disaster. Its representative lied to us repeatedly. They sent in unmanaged subcontractors who destroyed more than they repaired. Insead of listening to what we asked for, they gave us anything that they wanted to. They sent in crews who spoke no English with no management on hand and no warning of this. They never bothered to inform us of this or on which days they would show up and which days they would not. They left their trash on the work site for the homeowner to disposed of; this included used soda bottles and construction debris. They moved, lost, and damaged our belongs without permission. The crews refused to wear masks in our occupied home during the pandemic. There is nothing to recommend this firm!

WILL NEVER USE AGAIN

We will never use Paul Davis again. The only thing good about Paul Davis is Moshe R. We had an emergency leak in our only shower in our home. Moshe and his team had our entire house dried over the weekend communicating the entire time at the end of mitigation i was told that a Estimator would be reaching out to me on Monday. This never happened. Moshe attempted to get someone to contact me, still nothing so i called and was told someone else that i would be called back..again NOTHING. I called again demanding someone call me back that day and finally Anthony our 'New' estimator due to "having more availability" came out to our home got the information he needed then continued to tell me it would be about a week to get numbers and everything straightened out with insurance. After a week of waiting i checked in- was told that he had a personal emergency that caused him to delay which i understand. We waited another week, still nothing going into week three of waiting for numbers we threatened to find another company and got the excuse of "hes been busy" we finally get numbers at 8 pm at night and still not what we asked for! We still have not had rebuild start on our home and this happened April 1st. We do not have a working shower and a huge hole in our living room of our home during a pandemic and have had *** for communication. Paul Davis Customer Service is crap for being such a large company. You made it very clear that our project was last priority

HORRIBLE COMPANY, RUN DON'T WALK FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Updated by user Sep 09, 2019
Since my original post, PD has contacted me to try and make things "right" however, they sent someone to clean the paint off of my fridge who failed. The man that they sent out said that they had been testing getting the Killz off of a fridge at the shop, but get this...

Original review Aug 09, 2019
I wish I could give negative stars - HORRIBLE COMPANY, RUN DON'T WALK FROM THIS COMPANY!! We had a waterline leak that caused damage to our home including drywall and tile. They were on the ball with getting the floor dried out and getting the mitigation done, however, everything crashed after that. Although I can say that while they were painting my kitchen floor with Killz to protect against any further mold, they painted the side of my BLACK fridge white, they didn't clean it, they didn't even tell me. I had to find out after they left, and it's on the side of the fridge which I cannot clean because I cannot move the fridge by myself. It's been almost 4 weeks since the mitigation ended, we had a contractor at my home on Wednesday (8.7.19), who basically told my husband (who by the way just had knee surgery) that my children and I needed to move the fridge so that he could drywall behind it because he was going to be there alone the following day. He also told my husband that he hated his job. He did not cover anything in my home so the drywall that he did the dust went throughout my home. When he arrived on Thursday (8.8.19), he took it upon himself to just walk into my home. He did not knock on the door, even though that's the lie that he told his supervisor (I checked my cameras). He literally walked right into my garage and into my home. Asked my 15 year old son "so what are we going to do with this fridge?" He's the most unprofessional contractor I have ever dealt with. When I got ahold of Paul Davis and the manager on the project, at first he sounded concerned and kicked his worker off the job. But when I spoke to him today he sounded less concerned about his contractors actions. Now my house isn't completed, I'm going to have to find another contractor and wait even longer to have the repairs done. All throughout the entire process they have been uncertain about finding a painter to do a two tone textured paint, even going as far as asking my husband and my children if we had paint for the upstairs and basement. They have continued to be slow in getting my home back into pre-incident status and don't seem to care that their contractors are costing them jobs. GOOD-BYE PAUL DAVIS, you will never work in my home or the homes of anyone I know again!
