Wrong Part! *** up Return

I ordered a part for my ford taurus and was sent a part for a ford truck. Unfortunately, I did not figure that out, as someone else was supposed to fix my car, until after the 30 day return policy. I was offered a return but told I would have to pay initial shipping but would receive a refund for that shipping. Now, fedex is charging me 300$ and Parts Train is claiming no responsibility despite claiming I would be reimbursed for shipping.

Waste of money and time!

• Had significant cosmetic rear bumper, quarter panel, and rocker molding damage from an accident. Ordered rear valance, absorber and bumper cover from parts train and the rocker molding from another site. All items were scheduled to be in within a week. 7 DAYS •• So I scheduled my car to be in the shop for repairs and a rental for that day. Everything came in on time and I was excited to get my car repaired. Not even an hour after leaving the shop. The owner calls to tell me that the bumper cover PartsTrain sent was damaged beyond repair ••• Not through manufacturer default. Not shipping. Not even from the shop. But due to PartsTrain themselves. HOW YOU ASK? From folding my bumper to fit into the box. Yes! Folding! To the extent that the connection points broke. And when I say "folding" I'm not talking "slightly". Im talking full blown folded to were the side of the bumper was touching the inside of the bumper. •••• The shop proceeded with repairs without the bumper. Spoke with a rep about the issue for about an hour. The rep apologized and promptly sent out another. But this time, the cover was sent directly to the shop. He took the address of the shop. Verifeid the address. Even sent a confirmation of shipping address. He assured me all would be taken care of. 12 DAYS ••••• I get a email from FedEx stating my package was in town. But not headed to the shop. BACK TO MY HOUSE. Fedex says they cant change shipping location on my end, it's something they'll have to do on PartsTrain end. So i give them a call. The rep states that to fix THEIR shipping mistake they needed to charge me $15. FOR THEIR MISTAKE. Frustrated I just accept the fact that I'll have to drop it off myself. 15 DAYS ••••••• PACKAGED DELIVERED Finally ready to get this thing started! Get home. See the over-sized box sat out front. Take it in. Cut it open. AND GUESS WHAT!!!!!! AGAIN! *** Again they decided to fold the dam bumper. I'm 2 weeks into a 4 day repair with a rental now in the hundreds. I's so pissed with PartsTrain. They are so nonchalant about the issue and showed no concern. FINAL ADVICE I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING BUMPERS FROM PARTS TRAIN. PartsTrain seems great for smaller parts, but not this type of parts.

Don”t buy from them. Ever.

This reseller is a nightmare. Do not waste hours of your time. When I say hours I mean like an entire week of calling the 1888 #, speaking to reps that have no clue, except to read a script and say the same thing over and over. I was charged $130.07 for “expedited shipping” that took ten days to arrive, then it was the wrong bumper. So I had to buy another one, while waiting for it, and return this one. Out of pocket for 2 diff bumpers around $1000, the one was returned 11 days ago, still no refund. They have the part, the “manager” or supervisor whatever will not call me back. I’m reviewing everywhere I can.

Waste of time

Complete waste of my time I ordered a part on the 14th ok parts train has one in stock should receive in a couple business days. I check on the 18th still no shipping tracking so I call. I’m assured it will be in the mail on the 22nd from the manufacturer. Ok not thrilled. On the 21st just before end of the day I get a email that my order is canceled..... I call talk to someone who can’t grasp the English language. Yeah no we can’t get your part. What a epic waste of time. I havnt mentioned the fact I have had a truck down with the owners stuck in a hotel now for 9 days waiting for the truck to be fixed all thanks to partstrain.com. I will never use again and will make sure no one I work with every hears me say anything good about them.

Even I gave them my car VIN numbers still send me wrong parts .partstrain gave me my money $59.13 back but still I lost money from the auto technician which is $142.00 because it cost them 2 hr to work on the car.

Out of stock!

WTF!? Site says they had ample stock, but 3 days after my order I am still waiting for a confirmation on shipping. I contacted via live chat and got to chat with someone with broken English. BIG RED FLAG! She tells me they need "24 hour" not 24 hours, but "24 hour". Beautiful.. Finally says they found "2 wheel" not 2 wheels at one warehouse and 2 at another. They will all ship separately. Are they for real? Once I get my purchase, if I ever do, this will be my last time shopping at partstrain.com I am just filling in here to fulfill the 100 word requirement. Dumb.

Wrong part you pay big time

Got the wrong part even after the fitment showed it was for my vehicle. It was not and the wrong part. I did not get my full sales price as a refund, only partial, had to still pay tax and shipping. A $80 dollar part will now cost me $200, $46 to return the wrong part, write part is $140 plus. No refund on sales tax or shipping. You get to communicate with a Indian parts man from a 3rd world, who when questioned just say so sorry we get you a RMA in a few days. I got sent two for the same item. These guys are fraud and I believe they work this scam of wrong parts to profit big time. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM PERIOD

Not the best Customer Service, so be careful you get it right

I have bought from Parts Train for several years now, and usually it's painless and almost always a good deal (prices). But sometimes there's a hiccup in the process, like this last time... and there's no one to talk to about it. I ordered 2 parts that were 'in stock' and expected them to ship in time to get here for an appointment a week later. Problem is, Christmas was in between. They say they'll ship parts within 2 business days. I ordered on a Thursday, so I hoped it would ship Friday, but because Christmas was on a Monday, I thought I better call on Friday to have the parts sent directly to the garage that was doing the work the following Thursday. Just to be sure they got there in time. It was the day after I ordered them, not even 24 hours later, and the phone rep (in the Phillipines) said the order was already processed and there was no way to change the ship-to address. But I figured, since it was already processed, surely I would have the parts in time for Thursday's work. Now it's the following Wednesday, and I have no parts, so I do online tracking - 1 part says it's 'ready to ship' but somehow will be here today, and the other part is in-transit and will be here Friday. This sounds fishy, so I call to speak to a live person... again I get the Phillipines, and they tell me that for some reason the stuff didn't ship til Tues and Wed (2 parts, 2 different packages- 3 and 4 days processing time, respectively), and that both should be here by Friday. But both had been processed since either Friday morning or maybe even last Thursday evening, but had not been shipped til Tuesday or Wednesday. Since a Friday arrival is too late for my appointment, I ask if there's someone I can speak to about the issue - someone in the USA. I was told there's no one stateside who does customer service, it's all in the Phillipines. The rep said they have a headquarters in Carson California and warehouses in Illinois and Virginia, but there's no one a customer can speak to if there's a problem. I also remember a couple years ago ordering a part that had to be returned. It turned into a bit of a fiasco, and was quite some time before I was refunded. Of course it's going to be difficult when a phone call gets an answer from the other side of the world who's never been to any of their warehouses or HQ, and has english as a second language. So if you give yourself plenty of lead time, and don't need to ask any questions, Parts Train is ok and a lower priced option than other sites. But if there's any issue with your order, get ready for some head-scratching. I guess sometimes there's a different kind of price to pay for the low price we want to pay for parts.

Wrong part delivered

Dishonest, untrustworthy, argumentative absolutely a horrible experience

Original review Aug 12, 2017
Just wanted to let everybody know to stay away from an online company called Partstrain.com . I ordered parts from them online and I went through a thorough line of questions to make sure that the parts are for the right vehicle I answered all their questions and it came out that the parts were for my vehicle so I ordered them. I get the parts and of course they are the wrong parts so I call customer service to return them they do nothing but hassle me over the return. They also tried to make me pay to ship the parts back to them and also I had to take it to a main FedEx location which I believe the closest one was in Oregon. On their website they say easy hassel free returns which is a load of ***. Then on top of that they gave me no discount whatsoever on the replacement part and said that I made the mistake on ordering the previous part. It was their computer system that said it was the right part. Horrible customer service. Very bad experience. I would avoid this online company at all cost

Bad customer service

I recently ordered a part from an online retailer, Parts Train http://www.partstrain.com/, paid the listed price for an item they showed as having in stock. Two days later they call me up saying that they do not in fact have the part I ordered in stock and would have to submit the request directly to the manufacturer for a larger price, almost double. Now I understand businesses do not make money by eating costs like this so I am not upset about having to pay more for something I have already paid for once, what irritates me is never was there a comment about free expedited shipping or upgraded shipping for the part, or even something along the lines of "we value you as a customer and in the hopes of future business will send you a coupon for $X.XX (X%) off your next purchase (with or without a minimum purchase amount)". No the response was basically pay us more or we refund what you've already paid.
